All this nonsense made me curious as to how stations deal with silent running. A short test has shown me that they basically completely ignore it.

Mistake #1
Don't do silent running at a ****ing station
Mistake #2
Didn't drop heatsinks
Mistake #3
Didn't boost away as soon as I dumped my missiles.

So in conclusion during my test/tests I found a crash bug with missles/multicannons that I opened a ticket for (Viewing Ticket [ id: 16567 ])

Silent running appears to do nothing against NPC stations at the moment considering I got a bounty instantly

Also it appears that missiles are quite laggy considering the target went from 100% to about 0 % in 2 seconds.

Oh I also had some form of increased armor on that ship which appears to have been equal to a thin layer of popcorn.

Hope you guys enjoyed.

haha good vid!

The station does an absurd amount of damage from long range for some reason. I've found that if I engage inside of the no-fire zone, and then chase them out, the station won't attack.

wow, so the station responded even when u didn't hit it? then how did Spinel do it inside the station?

The game appears to be handling violations outside of the no-fire zone differently than ones inside of it. The station also uses different types of weaponry at different ranges, so at that distance the station uses a cannon on him. At a closer distance it will use gattling guns, and inside of it lasers are used.

Okay, so the last PvP thread got ended because certain members of the forum couldn't handle diverse opinions. Please, no more trolling.

Let's try this again. No name calling, and no posting identifiable in game names.

Very good, and I said in the last thread, it seems the space station is handling the violations inside of the fire zone differently than ones outside of it. I think they have it set up so Police respond to violations inside the no-fire zone, while the space station responds to violations outside of it.

I've been attacking players all day inside of the dock, and the police respond immediately when I attack players inside of it. However, the station only responds if I hit the station itself. Unfortunately the AI is just terrible, the police officers don't actually respond if you attack them first inside of the dock.

So, the first thing I do is check for police officers inside of the station. If I see them, then I kill them. Then I'm good to go.

spinel could u plz do a screenshot with missiles kill inside the station?

also, i heard that if you go to freeport and fire in the no firezone and avoid hitting the station, it won't retaliate. is that true?

Ecaedus, I haven't tested either of those. Sorry.

This isn't a kill but I did confirm that the station doesn't care if missiles hit it. All I got was a 50 credit fine.

Yep, just killed another guy while he was trying to dock. Station doesn't care at all as long as you don't hit it. The station also uses the weakest weaponry when it engages people inside of the station. At the longest range cannons are used, closer minigun, and closest/inside it shoots laser. Lasers do the least DPS, and give an individual the longest possible time to kill a player inside of the station.

so it seems that stations under jurisdictions will still fire at attackers even if not fired upon in and outside the NFZ?

but regardless of stations types they won't attack you while you are attacking ppl inside without hitting stations?

You know, I'm not really sure what is meant to be going on here. The station always responds if you commit a crime outside of the no-fire zone, but inside of the no-fire zone it doesn't respond unless you hit it. I'm gona commit some crimes and get the police to scan me.

Will be interesting to see if the station will respond then.

A really big part of the problem here is that the AI can't handle docking. The AI just doesn't respond if you shoot it inside of the station.

It appears lag makes you invulnerable. Unfortunately the grouping mechanic doesn't work, but I think anyone who uses a net limiter will be unkillable.

In the other thread, you suggested that the station will not attack if you don't hit in.

Picture 1 in post 35 (cant work out how to quote a closed thread post)
Show impacts on you ship in the right hand holo

In the picture in Post 46 show three beams on screen with two of them from you sidewinders class 2s and also hit to you ship on the right hand holo

That suggests *something* was shooting at you.

Station? Other player? Police in the station?

Is the stations, only if attacked, policy not absolute?
Doesn't seem like you were hitting the station as the other ships exploded.

Is it just a claim and it is really a suicide attack, in a plot to get others to try it only to be reduced to debris and canisters by the station ?
