Shiga, do you have WebcamMax installed, or any other webcam software that creates a virtual "camera"? I had to uninstall webcamMax on my PC and suddenly positional tracking in ED worked like a charm. Like in your case, it already worked in other programs and the example scene, but it did not work in ED.
Also, while WebcamMax was installed the Oculus control panel didn't show a serial number for the camera. After I removed it, the serial number appeared.
Oh and enable DK1 compatibility of course.
I uninstalled Logitech Webcam software and drivers. Restarted.. still no positional tracking in ED.
I closed the 3 services in question
One other question. Should I be running the latest SDK (.4?) with DK1? If so will I have to go through all the task killing stuff you DK2 people are having to do?
I purchased a paint job earlier and noticed they don't apply to the external view when viewing out the windows from the cockpit.

... The black bleeding and chromatic aberration are very noticeable; there seems to be colour depth issues for me (looks lower than 32 bit, but could be something else); there's known issues with shadows etc. not rendering correctly; also have not managed to get low persistence working in Elite: Dangerous (works a treat in some of the SDK4 demos), I'm sure it will with direct mode (as long as my hardware can keep up, of course). All that stuff should improve with updates from Oculus and FD, so the major visual issue then becomes the resolution, which can make smaller distant objects hard or even impossible to make out currently - thankfully all text is very readable, at least with a little help from positional tracking.
Still needing the odd camera resets(
Just a tip for you.. I use VoiceAttack - one of the things you can do is add a voice command to the F12 key. I programmed it to reset on the command Oculus.
Yes I am hoping SDK 0.4 version will improve things a little. Especially the colour seperation in the stars. But I think those issues require SDK fixes from Oculus themselves.
I do remain in the camera box (camera is about 1.5M away on top of the monitor) however, like any good VFR pilot, my head swivel quite a bit
Can't place the camera further away, as the monitor (fixed) will block part of the box.![]()

Just use that utility. Its dead simple. Once installed just check Enable SSE Fix.
And yes.. installed the SDK Runtime 0.4
Shiga, you did kill wscript AND the Oculus task in the task manager, in that order? (or use the tool?) Because I know that if either are still running, positional tracking will not work in ED at all, and if you don't kill wscript first it will just restart the oculus service. And do make sure DK1 compatibility mode is checked in the oculus mode selection.
I did kill both of those. Wscript.exe and OVRService_x64.exe, in that order.
I have the monitors set to extended. Rotational tracking is working, positional tracking is not working. Possibly as a result of this, there is slight judder.
Whenever I click "stop service", the blue light on the IR camera goes black. That means that closing down the service ensures that the positional tracking gets turned off. I don't really see any way around this.
I'm sure you already tried this, but switching USB ports?
