Modes These arguments are tedious.

You can get some reward without risk, or you can chose to have some risks while getting exactly same reward. What is balanced about this choice?

While risk is a good thing and a good gameplay expirience, who plays poker with one-sided wages?
I like to play poker, but I am not .

It's balanced because you have the same option. You aren't handicapped. Just because you take unnecessary risks does not mean other people are getting rewarded unfairly, it just means you like to take risks. Please, keep taking those risks to your heart's content, just remember you play the same game as everyone else.

This isn't poker, this is Elite, a game built to favor complete freedom. Go, be free, but please stop trying to yoke other players with your desires.

As for a "PvP" server, or a "PvP" mode, this game is built on peer-to-peer instancing. In Open you interact with a very small number of players who may be in the same system with you. That system is not compatible with the idea of separate servers. CQC was created to effectively be a "PvP mode," but PvPers don't like it because they don't like fair fights. They like clubbing baby seals, something which FDev frowns upon. So, we have Solo where the baby seals can fly under the radar and enjoy the game free from people who enjoy griefing.

That's Elite. Play your way. No one can tell you otherwise. That's balance.

PvP vs PvE servers were always a choice which comes down to personal preference only. It is about different mindsets. Some people cannot live without a struggle, some people avoid struggle.
And as long as you can avoid struggle in ten seconds but get the same results, there will be no balance.

Please, I do understand that you prefer PvE experience. So you are contained with how things are. But for me, this choice is heavily skewed to for me to undertake PvE experience. Which I do not want.
If PvP and PvE were not interchangeable on the go, this would not be an issue. But with how things are, there is some heavy imbalance present.

As for CQC:
Actually, let me explain why this instance of Quake 3 Arena in spessheeps is unpopular.

It requires some recent history knowledge.

All currently successful competitive games take their beginning from exactly two sources: Doom and arguably Starcraft.
Which similarities CQC bears to each of them? Pew-pew and that's it. And bonuses like DD directly from Q3.

While such arcade can be fun, competitive players simply do not have a set of skills which they can transfer.
And it is way easier for any beginner to just do the same thing their fathers/elder brothers did.

Arguably no competitive games so far required you to "fly your damn ship". So there is no serious player base for that stuff.

Futhermore, imagine how would arena in WoW would fare without world PvP? (Not to mention how would WoW fare without PvP whatsoever).

This part is actually the most insulting one.
Usually you are overcoming dangers around you and everyone you play with go through the same stuff.
In ED, you have to handicap yourself compared to other people for the sake of your expirience.

This makes this game full-on PvE one. Because the choice of modes in not balanced.

There's a hint for you! Look at that, you are figuring it out! ;)

I didnt know that this term is so insulting. But the fact is a fact. I do not care really about choice of words.
You like current state of things, where you do not have to chose anything. But I want to have a meaningful choice instead of an unbalanced one, and I do not care if you like it or not.

And I never had any "forced people" targets. And stop spamming your optional bull in order for me to change my ways.

You don't care about choice of words like I don't care about your choice of mode.

Frontier made a game where we are all the same, you knew that before you bought it - it was advertised that way.

And adding some bonus for Open for mode choice to become balanced at last would salvage the situation.

The game is balanced, we all get the same choices and options.

He can kick me from his group but he has no power to ban people, I know few that went in ans murdered in Mobius and they are still here.

Exactly, whats wrong with that and how does it affect you aside from jealous rage?

yet he can... and there is no jealous rage, but nice try.

But you can avoid struggle too and get the same result. So, it is balanced. It's not our problem that you need struggle and perceive everything as zero sum. Go play EVE or something if you need struggle. Leave us alone. We don't struggle here. We explore the galaxy and shoot at things.

That there are players who do not accept this is obvious - however Frontier are on record as stating (on more than one occasion) that they consider all game modes to be equal and valid game choices - and that they acknowledge that not all players will agree with their stance.

With no movement from Frontier regarding what is, by some, perceived to be a problem, the argument goes on.

The argument may go on but it is absolutely pointless arguing about it in the first place given the information provided in your post.

The problem is really peoples' skewed perception based on a falsely attributed sense of entitlement. The argument probably needs to stop; once and for all.

People really need to take more notice of what's in EULA's sometimes....... which are probably shorter than the 74 pages of this thread.

But don't you understand? If HE wants struggle but you don't obviously YOU are playing wrong and MUST be FORCED to play the way HE wants!

Of course it is not your problem, it is only mine and other PvP people.

Wow! You're a slave now? And I thought I'd heard every argument there was.

You aren't forced to play this game. Uninstall. Seriously, you're playing a game with players who don't care if they ever encounter another player, and more than a few who genuinely don't want to see other people. Myself? I'm flung out in the Formadine Rift, my next stop is... somewhere... over there. This game has no subscription base to maintain and a player base that genuinely doesn't care about "server population." Seriously, after that one-liner from you--that was way out of line, by the way--I'm sure you meant to install EVE instead of Elite. Uninstall. Seriously, there is no need for you to be here if you don't like it. Nothing is lost if you never play this game ever again.

You are not. The extra risk should come with benefits and I fail to see how it affects you as a solo player except being salty and jealous. If OPEN will have an incentive it will not affect you in any way.

a) I don't play in Solo.
b) I only play PG when my connection is terrible, I don't want to inflict my terrible connection on anyone else.
c) YOU have said there is no extra risk in open, I don't see why there should be any benefit if there is no extra risk.

Ofcourse there is extra risk in OPEN, go to CG and fly around in SC. Yesterday just logged in was intredicted by the 13th, 3 vs 1, escaped with 75% hull. When is the last time any NPC even took my shields on... they cant even win an intrediction.

You didnt answer the question.

If I were to use your logic and excuse for "reward" then by taking a non engineered or tricked out Sidewinder to Sag A should net me a larger chunk of exp then taking a fully engineered asp explorer since I did it "hard core". Fdev didn't design ED to work that way, your reward is accomplishing it how ever hard the challenge you set for yourself. It was my choice in which ship to use, just as it is YOUR choice to make things harder on yourself. You don't demand a "reward" for that. That would be if I accept a load of goods from Nashville to Los Angeles and decided on my own to go through Colorado on Interstate 70 and up and over those mountains (which I have gone over in a semi) in a fully loaded semi instead of taking 40 to 15...then after I get there demanding a higher payment for my extra troubles.

What if i don't go to the CGs though? I haven't participated in a CG in ages.

Been in open for a month, had no extra risk working in and around Founders.

If I choose to do a CG, the rewards for doing it are part of the CG.
You don't need more just because you picked open, as you can also choose to block anyone will slow you down.
