Some good tinfoil there. However, Ian Bell's wish list changes over time - so it's unlikely that FD will tie coordinate to a single item on another person's site (even though he co-authored the game). I might be wrong though.

Ian Bell co-wrote Elite. He had no involvement in the development of Elite: Dangerous. Given the no-so-friendly relationship that exists between Bell and Braben I'm 100% certain that nothing in Bell's personal wish list is going to have any pertinence to the current game and it's universe.

Thanks for clarifying. I am from "that generation" who were blessed enough to encounter ---- ELITE ---- in its earliest form - when I said co-wrote, I meant the original (although I thiink you probably guessed that).

Good research there, anyway, CMDR Bluecrash.

Yes, I figured that is what you meant and only pointed it out as a reason why it is unlikely that anything from Ian Bell's site that isn't contemporary to his partnership with David Braben is likely a non-starter. I'm of the same generation. C64.

TBH, I am glad you pointed it out! Last thing we need are some young scamps coming along and creating a completely new tinfoil-saturated theory from it!

Thing I loved about (the original) Elite was that it didn't matter what your version was, they tended to look pretty much the same. I was always jealous of my mates who had C64s - the colours were so much better than the ZX. That didn't matter for Elite though. I still play it occasionally with my old character.

Since we have (mostly) no clues, the nature of the conversation will tend to span very wide.

Alternatively, we have a LOT of clues - we just don't recognize them as being associated with Raxxla.

Here's a list of unexplained weirdnesses:

Halsey's disappearance and reappearance babbling about 'angels'
Jaques and the 'singing'
The weird hyperspace lights and suicides in the Exodus logs
The original (there's something scary in the) Rift rumors
Superfast Diamondbacks

These could ALL be phenomena associated with Raxxla, but since they don't explicitly mention it, we discount them as being unrelated.

I'm probably giving FDev way too much credit, but it's nice to speculate.

I’ve tended to discount superfast DB as pre-engineers release hype.
The FRift weird lights, suicides and something scary I think was related to an original storyline where the goids were sited in Bovomit, but I think for some reason (unknown) FD changed the storyline & moved them to Col70 region, forgetting that the Cone Sector etc had already had some explorer visits prior to locking them. Might be related to DW’s Dynasty theory being too close to home? I suspect this storyline change resulted in Jaques’ misjump ending up in Colonia...for some reason

Halsey’s “angels” is suspicious and may be related to Raxxla, Thargoids, Guardians, blue fireflies or something yet to be found. As usual there seems to be no opportunity (i.e. insufficient narrative!) to explore this to gain further evidence for theorising.

Jaques’ “singing and then they find you” may be related to :
UA/goids (IMHO likely & makes that particular AI something to be monitored closely!),
Raxxla,
or maybe he was found by a Welsh Presbyterian Generation Ship who gave him first aid before being repelled by the alcohol and carried on with their journey. :D
iechyd da!

edit: @Microsoft - WHY is forcibly insering your windows 10 updates into my nicely working PC taking over 30 minutes??? I want to set off for Colonia!
Edit2: eventually, & this is the April 2018 update!!! :O

Edit3: one hour later- windows10 is updated but my dual tm16000 joysticks no longer work. Windows says there is a driver problem and since they are usb2 devices may not work in usb3 sockets, despite having worked quite satisfactorily for several months in those very same sockets. I HATE Microsoft!!!!!

edit4: well after 3 hours I recovered the joysticks; had to delete the usb controllers then restart to allow windows to rebuild the devices. But that puts paid to today’s gaming plans. Time for consolatory cheese, biscuits, brandy & Indiana Jones! I really hate Microsoft!

Probably right about the DBX == Engineers thing, but it COULD also be Alien tech discovered by the Dark Wheel via Raxxla

Bovomit Sector being relevant to SOMETHING seems like an article of faith to me - It's over by the Rift, so it MUST be relevant. I've never seen anything that suggests it was in any way related to Thargoids OR the Rift - do you have a source for a link to anything?

Oolite: “Thargoid incursions into the Formidine rift appear to be increasing dramatically.” But, of course, at that time it wasn't any Bovomit nor ED, if I am not incorrect.

Well that would explain some of the tinfoiling. Shame it's not official lore.

Scytale beat me to it. That used to be lore, until it was retconned- I wonder why? Of course the FRift from those early sources was quite close (if I remember) to Riedquat/Reorte......
So, no real source for my hypothesis other than it fits neatly with the way the FRift mystery was set up. And Bovomit is still locked......

Aside from Halsey's "Angels" and the Formidine Mystery, i'm unfamiliar with the rest, especially the "Superfast Diamondbacks". Care to explain each to the uninitiated?

Don't forget Soontil Relics, and the possibility of Soontil as Raxxla and/or early Thargoid civilization, and the old "plague" system Peregrina aka human-Thargoid conspiracy base. Among other stuff that has never adequately been explored/explained in game. Not to mention Polaris. Oh and the Mars alien relic.

What's this about a Mars Relic? I've heard of the Butt on Mercury, but no relic.

On the Soontill front I did a long post on various things Thargoid/Guardian and how it potentially tied to Soontill a little while ago. Here you go if you fancy a peruse!

I really love all these myths and lore (as most fellow threaders). But, seriously, if FDevs get overwhelmed by the most simple storylines of their own, we can't ask them so much.

Fair comment, but things we're different when MB was involved - the original Unknown Artifacts puzzles were so much more complex rhan the "Shoot it until something happens" mechanics we have now. Since Raxxla happened on his watch, I still have a little bit of hope left.

And, if nothing else, it gives us something to talk about until we blindly stumble onto Raxxla.

This is a really useful archive of Galnet posts.

The DBX stuff happened in late January 3302 - so is probably just an Engineers thing.

The Jaques 'singing' stuff is probably related to the Thargoid Sensor (Unknown Artifact as it was at the time). Here's a link to the reddit of the first discovery, which contains some useful information:

You can probably find everything in the Canonn datafiles, but I don't have a link to that and I'm lazy ;)
