Hello all, I have been lurking this thread for a while. When the update drops, I am setting off to search for Raxxla. I wanted to thank you guys for all the useful information.

I play on XB1 and I am planning on starting a squadron called "The Wild Hunt" for like-minded XB1 players, unless fellow from this thread are already on XB1.

On a completely unrelated - but somewhat tangential - note, last night, whilst trying to dock on the Damask Rose, an NPC named "Big Al" was hogging the large pad...in Open. Getting pad hogged by an NPC in Open...such is life, Pozzo. He seemed unable...to depart.

So then I checked my subb'ed threads and saw your post and was all like, "It's you! The pad hogging NPC from last night! Why I oughta...." and then I realized that Mike isn't spelled "A" "L." And then I thought, "What makes NPC's do what humans do?" And then I got into a weird headspace and questioned most of my morning's decisions.

Also, still haven't found Raxxla.

Bravo...think we're onto something...

I'm not so certain. I'm not convinced this opening is anything related to Raxxla, but as I currently have no other plans in game, in at willing to help. Also, ruling something out is generally a step forward as well.

Has anyone been following this thread:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...n-Beyond-Trailer-that-we-haven-t-seen-in-Beta

I only ask, because I had a dream about 3.3 going live last night (yes I'm ill atm). In it, that thing from the trailer was found very quickly by dinner other commander. I went to visit the location and it showed up as a "mysterious portal". It didn't seem to be Raxxla itself, but the other end if a portal from Raxxla. Then it led me to a field of wooden chests (felt rather like a Zelda game then) filled with gold.

I really need to stop reading the forum before going to sleep. It's like the one I had where I was attacked in a hyperspace jump around 2.0 when hyperdictions weren't yet a thing. Perhaps Han Zen can remember. :D

I'll be dreaming about gormaganders next.

You are probably right again.

I have some new tinfoil brewing. I’ll post after release, to avoid spoilers on the codex stuff.

I got it up this is just your enhanced picture with what I'm sure must be Rigel circled in red.

Had a look. it’s about in the place that Rigel would be, but I don’t think it is; Rigel isn’t bright enough at the distance needed to give that size & aspect angle of BLoop & Witchhead, it’s not even visible from Dahan. I think those bright stars around BLoop and Witchhead are fairly close to the viewing position, and will move in relative position very quickly as the viewer’s position changes- makes finding the right spot a bit of a b*****!

When I looked at Rigel from the far side of the bubble, it was still the brightest star in that part of the skybox. Don't forget that there are stars in the video do move. (Suggesting that POV is changing, or that this is a composite. If it's the latter, then the endeavour of finding the view certainly is pointless).

I'm pretty certain that one doesn't. (I can't check the video on my phone, it won't load).

At the risk of being pedantic, has anyone been to SYNUFE EN-H D11-28, EOL PROU PH-V D22 B 6, or EOL PROU DA-V D2-256? Or would those be too obvious places to go looking for anything new? (Or has the stuff being shown in the latest trailer at those locations already been found before this update?).

Hi. I'm also on XB1, and on a mission to get my CMDR's name in the lore. Normally this happens when one makes a "major" discovery in game (like finds a previously undiscovered Gen Ship for example). However, when the 3.3 update drops i will have a golden opportunity to physically "map" my into the lore. I have already positioned my ship around this chosen world. Anyway just thought i'd share (and no its not Raxxla. But it IS famous).

I’ll check it again later today!
It may be a composite, that’s what I meant by FD possibly “fixing” the sizes & aspect of BLoop & Witchhead, though I’m not convinced yet on that; I find it difficult to judge the aspect of BLoop with all the obscuration in the video. What makes me wonder is the mysterious feature “B” that I annotated- it looks like a small dark nebula in the video but floats up from between the horns/wings of the Elite symbol to finish just to the top right of feature “A” & I can’t match it to any of the nebulae listed by Dr Kaii, nor anything else I can see in the galmap. I’m wondering if it is actually something else which FD have obscured to make the image harder to decode; it seems too definite to be artificial, if you know what I mean (sorry, may not be making sense, in the last 6 weeks I’ve had 3 weeks of flu, trapped nerve in my neck, torn shoulder muscles, & I’ve now got a second stinking cold...I need a good night’s sleep & some sunshine!). It may e that the image was constructed without the distance cut off that we suffer in galmap so things may be visible that we wouldn’t see, & maybe vice versa. In any case it wouldn’t necessarily make the image incorrect, I still think Raxxla’s system is the G type system between the horns/wings.

I suggest checking the video from the game folder like Han Zen suggested. When I did, there was a point where Barnard and Witchhead looked a little clearer. Unfortunately, it didn't show up as well when I tried to screenshot it.

Yes, I did (thanks Han_Zen!) & had the same problem; but it does seem clearer than my Shadowplay recording so I've deleted that from Imgur & will update my post about it.

Yes, my mistake, I have a streaming cold & not functioning on all cylinders. Rigel is indeed visible from aways! https://imgur.com/a5EkUDY

i dont have much to go one, and i have only been looking into raxxla in passing for the past yearish. Some things stand out to me though, and im sure they've been discussed before, but because this thread is 300 pages long, i dont exactly have time to sift through all of it. just some thoughts...

Thargoid connection: The star map of the other galaxy in the thargoid base. Could this be where raxxla leads, or one of the many places it leads? is it possible the thargoids came from raxxla? if this is the case, its more than likely that raxxla is in the FRift. But that doesnt work with the "obvious" attribution that has been given by the devs. which is my next thought. This would also fit with what we learned in Reclamation when it's hinted that raxxla is beyond the FRift.

if it really is obvious, we can assume as many have said before that its probably inside the bubble, or damn near. I think we need to figure out a way to make a checklist of all the systems in the bubble, and begin systematically crossing them off the list. if this has already begun, please point me to where i can help.

now a couple questions:
Are we sure there are no more missions from the dark wheel that may have slipped through the cracks?
Are there are discord groups dedicated to the hunt?
As obvious as it sounds, are we sure we have fully explored Sol?
Finally, where the heck do we start? blindly searching systems without ANYTHING to go off of seem futile. theres no way that our current methodology is going to get us any result.

OK its gone past my bedtime - bleary eyed after days - weeks in Barnards Loop - I'm here for the journey; I don't give two hoots who finds Raxxla, frack I hope it never gets found. But here's a bottom of the rum bottle bit of tin-foilery, not sure if its been discussed but... Cassiopeia!

"To the jewel that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies"
Cassiopeia...
"The parents grief"
Heart...
"The lovers woe"
Soul...
Heart and Soul nebulas are in Cassiopeia.

Now it just so happens these guys are on my to-do list of exploration. No idea where to start. I don't expect it to be in Cassiopeia but a star in that area / near the H&S nebula...

In fact I think there was a big operation to find Cassiopeia A but its not in game...or is it?

Its a long shot but its a simple analysis of the Dark Wheel toast...just question of finding the right star from this perspective that's close to the brow of Cas and H&S?

Is it too far outside the bubble? Not much 8-9,000 ly but its a bearing to stear by and I'm itching for the deep.

Edit: Constellations may be far apart as seen from Sol, Cas A sector could be something or its a lot closer to home / just along that declination.

Next time I get chance to dry-dock I'll repair get some limpets an SRV and toddle off.

So both Raxxla and Cass A have been "lost "...
mmmh...

Jaiotu will probably remember the details, but I seem to remember that Michael Brookes said Cass A wasn’t in game for a very mundane reason- think it wasn’t in the star catalogues they used to build the galaxy?

why TDW lost Raxxla is indeed a mystery. Perhaps there’s a mindwiping energy field there?
oh no, if I find it I’ll forget everything!
hang on, who are you?
who am I?
:D

They lost it because Jason Ryder was killed. They never 'had' it. They just had Jason.

That's what I thought.
Even Jason didn't find Raxxla, just evidence that it was real.
The only ones who do know where it is would be whoever had Jason killed (and they are not the Dark Wheel)
