Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

Might be worth not docking on Stargazer in Pleione over the restart - some had issues when docked on Cavalieri in Electra when that got attacked.

I'm having a really bad time with Pleione anyway as any nhss around Stargazer seems to be empty. Still, I'm in the area, so ready and waiting for the incursion.

Edit- Missed Bunkerkind Anni's edited post. Same issue it seems. Every other system is fine though.

HIP 117960 (missed as an Infested system) gets the Incursion - looks like Pleione was saved at the last moment as it is left alone.

Stations that were burning continue to burn for a third week.

No signs of new infestations yet, though they typically* appear later in the day.

No changes to Eagle Eye messages yet.

How do you get the Eagle Eye messages again? I'm out there and was curious.

Ok i do see the funny side...
Hunting for the ship locations and turns out to be good old "VANGUARD" a missing ship for sometime.... in HIP 117960.... the attacked station....of course it is
thats life
cheers stu

Isn't it the same for Pleione?
want to see an asteroid base burn

Yeah, you're right. I forgot that Pleione only had an Asteroid Base. Both systems were saved so maybe next time we'll get the chance to watch a different base type burning... who knows? (i doubt they were implemented!)

Stations are still burning for the third week in a row. It must be some sort of bug, I doubt it was planned to be this way. I hope the fix for mining also brings a few fixes for these new BGS states (Infestation and Incursion) They feel a bit borked!
I also would like to see missions against Thargoids. Havent seen a single one yet! Although, i would like to share this interesting reward for a fetch mission I found at the Vanguard today:

haha, nice catch
seems like they implemented that for those who don't want to attack thargoids, but still need to get those samples for whatever reason.

When a system enters Incursion, the following happens:

  • One starport present in the system (that can be damaged) will be damaged.

  • Each week that passes whilst Incursion is active, a new starport (that can be damaged) will be damaged.
  • If a starport has been fixed after being damaged but the system is still in Incursion, it can be damaged again the week after.

  • All megaships in the system at the point of the state enters Incursion, will appear damaged and unable to continue on their journey.
  • Thargoid Scouts and Interceptors that were found in the initial attack will continue to have a presence, but stronger Thargoid Interceptors will now also make an appearance.
  • Thargoid Conflict Zones will also be found in the system, which pits players against Thargoids in waves of combat.
  • The Incursion state lasts (currently) indefinitely until players remove it.
  • To overcome the Incursion state, Commanders must kill Thargoid Scouts and Interceptors.
  • The amount of kills needed to remove the Incursion state varies from system to system.
We'll be exploring the new Thargoid Combat Zones in a livestream on 22 November, but if you can't wait, you'll be able to try them for yourselves in the beta next week!

this is the info we got.
the one thing i kinda miss, is how to fix a starport within one week...
maybe we overlooked the fire-extinguisher equipment being sold somewhere, or how to trigger the scenario that stops a station from burning?

I suspect burning stations are a bit broken right now. Hard to guess what is intended if that's the case.

Eagle Eyes:

ee1 pleiades sector hr w d1 41 (infested)
ee2 pleiades sector hr w d1 42 (no idea - no planets, just the usual Pleiades NHSS)
ee3 hr 1172 (nothing special - attacked settlement?)
ee4 hip 2843 (infested)
ee5 madrus (infested)
ee6 bhagutsuk (incursion)

Targets this week :

Incursions (AX CZ)
HIP 117960
Bhagutsuk

Infestation (NHSS)
pleiades sector hr-w d1-41
hip 2843
madrus

Notes:
* Thargoids first Infest a system, if the Infection is not fought then they begin an Incursion, and we lose stations until the incursion is repelled.
* Infested and Infested systems can be seen in the Galmap left panel. Sometimes the system also switches allegiance to the Thargoids (not always). It's worth checking a system is still Infested / Incursed before travel, as they change through the week.
* There is a galmap filter to help find Incursion systems (there is no filter for Infested)
* Incursion systems : fight in the AX CZ until they are no longer listed in Galnet :)
* Infested Systems : are saved by kills in the target systems- each kill counts the same, so a Scout is as useful as an Interceptor. Bonds do not matter.
* NHSS will be found in systems within 20 Ly of target, the systems are not being targeted for attack - you can kill Thargoids from them, but it won't help save any systems.
* You can also find NHSS all over the Pleiades - within about 166 Ly of Merope, but it won't help save any systems.
* And you can get (bugged) missions from the Aegis megaships to kill Thargoids, but they also don't count to save systems unless the destination system for the mission is also a target this week.
* Infested Targets are found via a weekly search for nhss in possible target systems near the aegis ships and by decoding the aegis Eagle Eye system https://canonn.science/codex/eagle-eye-installations/
* Incursion targets are found by looking in the 2nd Galnet post, and also by looking at systems that were previously infested.
* Decoding Eagle Eye is now simpler - use this decoder and type in the phonetic letters called out by the eagle eye unregistered comms beacons - this gives the target system, though it's usually a bit mangled, e.g. Maiaiaiaiaiaia = Maia :)

The last 2 years of the storyline ;)

As the first post says, NHSS have been around all systems within 150 Ly of Merope forever, but they can be ignored as only Infested systems go on to have Incursions.

Really? Lol, no it's 175 LYs! :p (3rd time ;)) (not 166 LYs either).

I think clearing the infestation here should be a priority! Malthus is an important station for the main repairing crew - IDA

My AX ship is nearly ready (I think, lol), I'll head there ASAP. It's only a Python mind you.
