That was all in Open.
That's ok then - no issues with PG rule violations or FD support requests. Open is open, and we warned them to stay away (although I found the tactics of some people on the system chat more than a bit low).

Edit: So they're not saying you will get a rebuy refunded - but that you'll get the rebuy rescinded - and presumably reappear where you were killed. Not sure if that's what you're fighting about -gl![]()
Hello Commanders,
Just wanted to take a moment to clarify that we deal with each ticket on a case by case basis and being killed in a private group that doesn't allow PVP is not basis for an automatic reimbursal. Our support team will ensure that they (as they always do!) treat each ticket and it's circumstances fairly, and if we can help we will.
So then why is this group claiming you'll get rebuys refunded if you're killed while in the private group?
if an official PVE server was paid content I would pay for it.
...if you were ganked in Open you have only your pride to blame.
If the devs are actually restoring ships, data, assets of official DW2 participants, and well known PKrs are either friends with or members of the related PGs - I think this would be a great opportunity to actually demonstrate the profound annoyance a PK gank event actually represents.
Let me be clear. The rules permit this gameplay - there is no moral deficit expressed by the players that exercise the rules as they see fit.
If, however, the devs are jammed restoring hundreds or even thousands of player data sets over the several month journey - perhaps - just maybe - a tiny glimmer of possibility here - FDEV will realize that an OPEN PVE mode is actually a good thing.
So you 5th column nefarios, jackals and wolves following the wide-eyed and eager explorers - here's to you. Shoot straight, shoot often and may your cargo holds fill with more salt than even you can carry. TALLY HO!
As would I. In a heartbeat. The game would be so much better if all PvE players could play in an official Open PvE mode, an official from the menu “Mobius” mode so to speak.
A PvP environment should be an option, not mandatory.
Welcome to Elite: Not Very Dangerous. lol.
I would support a pve open mode (where you could not be attacked unless you yourself raised a 'pvp' flag), IF...you were automatically flagged as a viable pvp target while;
Carrying PP items
Pledged to a hostile power to me (this is on a by-encounter basis, i.e. A hudson pledge can attack freely a Duval pledge and vice versa, anywhere)
In any Anarchy or 'None' government (i.e. anarchy and uninhabited systems)
Wanted for any crime
Seems fair (unconvinced by the anarchy system bit but we can negotiate).

As I already said somewhere before in this thread.
There should be an official OPEN PvE where the players weapons are simply uneffective on other players. No need to mess up with C&P, Private Groups, Support Tickets and so on...
So they're saying that IF during Distant Worlds you get ganked in the private group, which has a no PVP rule, you won't be sent back to the bubble (which will be over 50,000 LY away by the end of the expedition) but will instead be respawned at the place where you died.
At least let's have an argument based on the facts then chaps - seems the purpose of that is primarily not to allow players to avoid credit rebuy costs but to avoid them being effectively thrown off the expedition as a result of someone having decided to break the private group rules.
It's almost like FDev want people to be able to enjoy a developer-supported event, in a private group specifically set up to allow them to do so, without being massively inconvenienced by trolls.

Well, that and the ineffectual (non-existent) C&P mechanics still facing the community 4yr in..
I understand what Frontier are saying they're going to do, based on what Paige has posted... but I still can't help feel that it's wrong nonetheless. I don't think Frontier should be restoring anything for Distant Worlds participants who get killed out in the black - the same way they wouldn't for the lone explorer who gets ganked 3km from returning to a starport after a year exploration.
I am a Distant Worlds participant by the way, and I will be playing in Open the whole way. I am not in the Private Group either, but even if I were, I still wouldn't agree with the mollycoddling.
