There is part of me, that I often have to ignore, believes that Raxxla does not actually exist (or only exists as a legend). The reasoning being that, if it were ever found, it would actually ruin the game for many players. Even in a full sized galaxy, the risk of it actually happening would still be too great.
I think if I ever found it I would keep the how and where to myself. I might say I found it, and offer some spoiler free proof. But I think you’re right to a point. If it were public knowlage and became easily acessable to everyone. It might ruin it.
Quick question. I’m at work at the moment myself so I can’t check but Delphi seems connected somehow, and since the story goes that a stone was placed in the very center of the world and found to be Delphi, the Delphi system seems to have bit one landable planet. Has anyone gone and landed at 0/0 coordinance to see if there’s anything there?
Back from work now and am gonna have a look. Other thing I’m sure other have noticed tho, is the center of the dark wheel symbol is the same as the new core overlay on the galmap. The three spheres on the symbol seem to correspond to the region called ‘The Void’. And it would appear to me the head of the dragon is the Erant Marches, and the tail it’s eating is the FR
Took myself a look see. Got excited for a second because there is a large, unusually square, stone pretty much right on 0/0. Unfortunalty I forgot my vehicle hanger lol. But using the orbital camera there doesn’t seem to be anything special about it other than being quite square and on 0/0
5) it's something that both CMDR Guru and someone in FDev said -> reaching Raxxla is a personal journey [...] i.e. Go to Nyse, follow child 3 times clockwise then 5 times counterclockwise and then the gates of heaven will open.
CMDR Guru last words were that he cried (in RL) at the end of this ordeal, and then in-character he seems to have committed suicide (account disappeared). And following Child 3 times, at 500k LS each, would be madness-inducing, so if this is the type of "personal journey" we can expect (along with having to study cryptology and knowing how to do sound spectograph analysis), then I guess tears of madness and suicide make sense.
From a more pragmatic point of view, Raxxla has been described as "the greatest treasure of the galaxy" in this thread (by us); if it's only available AFTER you've won the game, then that's a bummer. By the time you become triple (quadruple) elite, have ally status with PF and DW and who knows what other factions (Nysa Brotherhood, for example, boy does that suck at 500 k LS for each mission hand-in), be capable enough to take on a wing of 4 elite NPC's flying Anacondas, in a Cobra (CMDR Guru's last screenshot), and who knows what else... who needs Raxxla's riches anyway?
And let's not forget that the real treasure is always "knowledge". Several movies about that, including an Indiana Jones one, I believe. I think that's what CMDR Guru was crying about.
There's a lot of sense in what stg213 says. Tourist beacons were not in the game from day 1, but there might be something similar. Michael Brookes was adamant about there being no second galaxy (at Fantasticon three years ago), although things may have changed since he left the project.
If I wanted to hide something in Elite Dangerous, I'd do it the way Voyager was for a long time hidden in Sol: put it in an easy-to-visit system, but a Hutton Orbital distance from the jump-in point, and make the "thing" only appear on the Nav Panel when you're within 1,000 LS.
I found the roots of Guru's last screenshot and that marked name Alexander. The roots are going from Egyptian hieroglyphs. Commonly it have right-to-left typing. So look here:
It is Alexander the Great 's name typed using hieroglyphs. It is not Raxxla even if read it from the end but very similar.
There was two Alexander's sons: Alexander IV and Heracles (not Hercules). And there are alone systems with lonely star (Heracles) ingame. Then the constellation too and the sector of unnamed stars... Too many objects for my mind.
P.S. Alexander IV 's Russian Wikipedia page have (I don't know why it is) hieroglyphed personal name as "Son of Ra" that imaged as
A Federal Navy vessel has reported the discovery of an unregistered outpost with all occupants murdered, following a response to an automatic distress signal.
The incident is being investigated by the Federal Intelligence Agency. Senior Agent Rochelle Karim made the following statement:
“This remote lunar base was designed to prevent detection, and yet it has been located and invaded by unknown forces who chose to gun down its inhabitants. It appears access codes were used to bypass security systems, as there are no signs of forced entry.”
“Initial findings suggest the outpost was dedicated to advanced nuclear research. This may have been a targeted attack in order to steal a power source, a weapon, or valuable data.”
“We are conducting a thorough examination of the site, and expect to learn more soon.”
So things in game have been designed to prevent detection. Perhaps as this story unfolds we may gather some insight into how this was done and apply it to Raxxla.

Commanders, there's been a recent Galnet article speaking of a station that was attacked, but the station was designed to be undetectable. Perhaps this could be the station The Dark Wheel used? I haven't been to this location so it depends on if it's the eighth moon of some unknown gas giant, but perhaps there's something we could learn from a station like this.

Could be... It also could be somebody wants to blow up some military satellites. Somebody is going to shut down the Eagle Eye network. It could be that Julian, Izzy, and the rest of the Thunderchild team had a plan, and now Unit 01 has activated.
Just for fun: Some thinking about Raxxla logo and hieroglyphs:
Star,
Crescent moon,
"half-month festival" as a half of Star+Crescent
Are you remember the central part of Raxxla logo?
Sun and three crescents around it... Mmm?.. System with three moons? Too easy. May be the half of the half of the half of the Sun... Oh... I want to sleep.

I don't think this article is a clue however, it does show that in game and now lore they have the tech to prevent detection. What I took from this, is that would rule out the possibility of being able to just FSS a system to find Raxxla and you would need to as they say have the Access Codes.
The Ceepers stole the Starburst weapon prototype from a Federal facility in Eta Cass. The end goal was to alter the Imperial succession order, and provoke a war between the Feds and Imps. With Humanity being unified under an Imp banner when the Thargoids show up. Given the Nova Imp. stuff maybe they needed to act once more?
0) The number of factions with the ability to defeat 'stealth' tech, and have the reach to knock off a secret facility in Sol has got to be a very short list.
1) It does not specifically state that it was a Fed Military site, or a Corporation.
2) The hint that it is on Earth's moon (Lunar) may have been used in a general sense to indicate the surface of a moon.
3) Maybe this is related to the Halfnium and SAP 8 core containers. (A huge stretch, but both have commonalities in advanced power generation etc)
4) Maybe they are similar bases on Triton thus the permit lock?
I happen to be nearby so I will have a gander in Sol and Eta Cass.
Edit: Unregistered comms beacon orbiting Luna does not appear to have changed (at the very least the section i checked corresponded to the old message), but the time of the start was 15 minutes later by my clock. 45 vs 30. The transmission lasted ~12 minutes.
The orbital stations checked so far (out to mars high) have not spawned any seemingly related missions.

I'm given to the belief that it is in Frontier's best interests to ensure that players don't find Raxxla anytime soon. As long as Raxxla is out there as a thing to be found then it will remain a draw to keep drawing a certain kind of player into logging into their game. I personally wouldn't put it past Frontier to hide Raxxla away in some permit locked sector of the galaxy ... maybe Raxxla itself isn't permit locked but all the stars within jump range of it are?
An interesting thought ... didn't David Braben or Michael Brooks say that there would "be no clues" to help us find Raxxla? The addition of the Codex along with entries for Raxxla and The Dark Wheel are proof that this statement only meant that there would be no clues outside of the game itself.
I see the quest for Raxxla being given more clues down the road as parts of future game content. Content that will eventually gain the attention of many of our fellow players. Content that will eventually lead Raxxla.
One thing I know for sure: Raxxla WILL be found. I can't imagine Frontier passing up the headline in all the gaming media: 25+ year game mystery finally solved.
While scouring the web for any remote tidbit of Raxxla lore, as yet undisturbed, i was directed to the comment section beneath the Raxxla wiki where this can be seen: not having played the original games, can anyone confirm it?
"The original Raxxla is a planet with a Coriolis station also named "Raxxla" in Galaxy 9, Andromeda.
Raxxla itself is a feudal world with reptile race with higher technology level than humans. Raxxlans were extremely hostile to every other race. War was what they loved and aimed for. Raxxla itself is not hard to find. Raxxlans will attack without hesitation giving out their location. The closer you get more aggressive they become. Anyone in their territory must be Elite or die. They will give the permit to enter their station after you have proven your skills in battles against them.
Raxxlans had a formed a trade partnership and military alliance with Dark Wheel in 3025. Dark Wheel had an agricultural settlement on the planet Soonji, which was named after Soontil. Only 100 Elite level commanders were allowed to have a residence on this planet due fact Raxxlans did not want large and permanent human settlements near their territory. Soonji was known as a paradise for retirement.
While the alliance was maintained 100 years the trading kept only a few Elites rich. It is known from history that all the snake ships and the first type of Coriolis stations are Raxxlan designed. The Raxxlans were proud reptiles and they named their ships after their feared relatives. This was to remind human beings to respect them while using them.
