Death IRL, or, does dead commanders get flown into a star?

Hi. Quite new(ish) to the game, but really love the whole package.

There was a good eyeopener in the news in Norway lately, about this disabled guy who did all the things he could not do IRL in game (WoW). Then he died! His family knew he was a gamer, but had no idea about how many friends he had online and was touched at the attendance at church. Now his friends wants Blizzard to write him into the game as an NPC.
Does FD have any plans for dead, diehard players?
Maybe the Crew lounge could be a place for deceased players to randomly appear as hireable crew?

No plans to level up to the void yet, but just a thought..

Here is the article, in norwegian, but I know this one has been picked up beyond these rocky shores of Norway[heart]

Off topic: trying to gather the (few) Norwegian ED players in a Discord channel: https://discord.gg/KW7zsDt

That is cool!
Thanks, take a rep.

Some times there are some special awards if the community seems to be open to it. For example, Beagle point, the farthest point that you could be from Sol before the Engineers, had originally an automatically generated name, but it was renamed in honor of the ship of the first commander who reached it (which in turn, it was named after his recently deceased dog).

I'm not sure but I think that FD gave a merchandising kit to the first guy who made a round trip around the galaxy, or the guy who did Sol - Beagle point in less than 7 hours, I can't remember.
