Pffft. 1500+hrs? That's a nothing burger. I have some 2371 hours alone on Legacy Skyrim (original 2011 edition). And another 315 hours or so on Skyrim Special edition. At this point, my Dovahkin Stormcloak is Thane of all the provinces in Skyrim, has an entire museum dedicated to his life's work questing Skyrim/Tamriel, owns scores of livestock and horses, has a couple dozen castle sized manors, and acres of farmland/mines/business he'll be bequeathing to his six children as part of his vast estate. That's before factoring all the supernatural real estate in Oblivion and Sovengarde that he's earned for becoming the favorite minion of several Daedric Princes.
Not going to lie. Would be in nirvana if he could've procured a capital ship or two from a futuristic time travel quest into the bubble using some obscure/mystic Aetherius powered artifact.
So yeah, different genres but concept is the same. Players will play/grind/obsess for hours over a single gaming title because they can't help their addiction
