Strike anyone else as at all odd that the new settlements out in the WH are only a couple jumps away from 46 Eridani, where Salomé started her trip and the message from the engineer out there is that they’re “in need of good pilots and you fit the bill”? And she needs “help with her research” and it’s somehow a funny coincidence that we fit the bill?

since raxxla is not known to any powers, much less the dark wheel, it seems that raxxla would not be in a populated system.

It will probably be close to the bubble but it would almost certainly be a non-populated system. Probably not in a scoopable star system (since those tend to get populated). Seems like brown dwarf systems would be the best candidates. Little value to powers, so little interest in extensive exploration, easily passed over by most players since they're not scoopable and tend to be unpopulated.

If raxxla was a megaship of alien origin instead of a planet, and was only described as such after many word of mouth retellings, (and nothing that's been mentioned by fdev would negate it being actually a megaship instead of a planet) then it would be easy to hide raxxla in asteroid belts. Something few if any players take the time to investigate and there are so many of them.

If i wanted to hide something in the game for potentially forever, i'd hide it in an asteroid field around some forgettable dwarf star system for sure.

edit: though if it was a megaship, i guess we'd have had people discover the textures since it seems like it would be unique.

You'd have to explain away this email then.

Imo, TDW is the ancient gen ship missing in time having travelled through the entry to Raxxla. Hence the raison d'etre of their descendents to find Raxxla. Their cloning technology trying to preserve their memories and frequent reminders to remember seems to suggest that they are trying to find their way back.

If the entry to Raxxla is time gated or simply hidden due to the billions of systems, then perhaps finding TDW is indeed the first step which will offer up log evidence that the storyline is a time travel story and further clues to the next step.

Find the TDW gen ship, find Raxxla.

I could explain that email as the most likely option. It is auto generated and planet is the default response for anything not listed in its database.

Though it would not surprise me for fdev to accidentally leak info about a mystery. It's happened before.

No it was quite deliberate because iirc the CMDR put in a request for a hint for Christmas.

Edit 1: Here's the source in this thread https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/the-quest-to-find-raxxla.168253/post-6166912

Edit 2: Ah ok nevermind, I get where you are coming from @Darth Ender

Edit 3: If its auto generated then I'm not sure why the word Planet would be only partially italicized. Seems like a human error to me.

Is there a compilation of events pertaining to when Raxxla was first mentioned in ED The Dark Wheel 1984 to present. I’ve read the dark wheel and found it very interesting. I think now after reading this thread, Lave holds a clue. Btw, is Lave 2 still permit locked? Heh, I guess I would look at all of the starter systems at this point. Somewhere between Lave, Sol, and Delphi might be TDW.

LHS 3447 and Asellus Primus (starter systems)

That’s easy. The Codex is the first in-game mention of the word ‘Raxxla’, any of the games (not counting Children of Raxxla player group).
In lore there are a few mentions without any info. The only info in any book, is in The Dark Wheel.

Thought I'd try a Google friendly post:

Q: Has anyone tried to get Allied with all Dark Wheel benevolent mission receivers?
A: Yes
Q: Was a Dark Wheel invitation received?
A: No, not yet

In lieu of the questions above, how about:

Q: Has anyone tried to get Allied with all factions in all systems within a 20Ly range of Shinrarta Dezhra?
A: Yes
Q: Was a Dark Wheel invitation received?
A: No, not yet

For details see Operation Less Than Three

I see from the latest newsletter that there is to be a livestream (16th?) to celebrate 5 years of the game. DB will almost certainly be involved; now is the time to polish the question set! They need to be short, pointed, and well designed to elicit sensible answers! I rarely do livestreams, besides I already have something booked IRL that day, but I suggest as a starter:
1) Is Raxxla currently accessible in-game?
2) Is Raxxla locked behind a permit? If so is that permit currently obtainable?
3) Has Raxxla been honked by a player but not discovered?
4) why were the Elite/Founder missions at Shinrarta Dehzra dropped from game?
5) Does the Dark Wheel membership test exist in-game?

Any others? Any suggestions for rephrasing welcome

Added to Q1 but other than that I reckon that’s a solid list of questions.

4) why were the Elite/Founder missions at Shinrarta Dehzra dropped from game?
They still exist if at least in name only. They also tend to pay double what a similar non-founder/elite mission (had on for 8.5 million, single hop, 180 ton, 178 ls to target Ocellus Starport.) Normal non-F/E missions do not typically pay anything close to that). It might be clearer to mention the missions in question as those involving trinkets and Sap 8 core containers etc.

It might also be good to ask a vague question they might actually address such as if there are unresolved aspects to thargoid/guardian content currently in game etc or in broad terms if the various seemingly irrelevant cargo (sap 8, trinkets, ai relics, ACUs, antiquities etc) actually have a purpose or a purely fluff.

Are the few systems with odd permits like 4 Sextantis, hip 22460 etc are actually obtainable? (they seemed to have been left out when the other unobtainable permits were marked as such.)

Is the dark wheel station currently in game?

Is there an intention to revive/continue lore/story/mystery (UA/UP type) stuff in 2020+ ? (or alternatively why the shift away from that stuff?)

If we expect to get direct answers on any of the Raxxla questions, or to even get the question list directly addressed we are probably dreaming. (remember no clues etc)

Don't tell Universal Cartographics, they'll hexedit your memory, exploit it for themselves and bring about the world's end! Fight the power, remember Salome! Sacrifice your Arx along the Via Sacra! The Mars artifact is the key for the Arkship. Uhh.. my head is dizzy..
Actually the Generation Ship would seem quite plausible, some people had a dark wheel (meteor shield), and a lapis occultus in the sky, and then a thousand years passes. They startup a business in manufacturing mineral water and drinks. I suppose some colony ships lost their legends on reaching their destinations, some still remember, like in Phekda, and Isinor perhaps.

Unfortunately:

1. Cant answer as would isolate accessible or permit locked as not Raxxla. IF Permit locked why bother looking anywhere else atm?
2. Too specific - if yes narrows down the search field too much. If no we can ignore permits. If yes ignore 99% of the Galaxy.
3. Too specific - narrows down Raxxla to approx. 2% of the Galaxy and also means non permit locked. Can easily retrace players journeys through EDSM etc even though would take long time, lot quicker than searching the rest of the galaxy.
4. Good Question.
5. Hmm - yes. (Too specific) suggest. Do the real DW exist in game and do they have an active membership test? (probably too specific, if not we know its time or story locked)

6. IS there still 'stuff' to find of any description that is unique or hasn't been found?
7. Will the FSS find the DW Station or Raxxla if we are in the right system? (if we can get away with system rather than right place, awesome)
8. Have we 'finished' all the known stories/mysteries or should we investigate more? (probably too specific again if answer is yes its exhausted)

Got to consider both answers yes or no and whether they give too much away as theyre not going to get answered. May be best to go with a general open question.

8. What can you confirm about Raxxla? What has already been said on various posts, youtube vids, Twitter etc etc that you can confirm? What information do/should we have?

9. Is FDev enjoying the way that the search for Raxxla is going so far? (Wondering if they read through threads like this and get a kick out of it or are just face palming themselves constantly at our tin foil hattedness 🙃)

10. Are there any ideas that have been close to the mark? (Don’t have to answer which ones, simple yes or no answer will suffice.)

Don’t think it’s auto generated. I’ve asked frontier questions about Star types etc and never received any response ever. If it were an auto response system I’d imagine it would just spit one out but I’ve never gotten one for any of my questions.
usually auto response systems will also come under “no reply” and from the team not an individual.
