Hawknerd, I mean binding. Controls. Map is another term for binding your controls. You need to either assign a function (I recommend using the same setup as your ship) or find what they are currently assigned to.

Particularly useful for effectively flying and jumping up mountain walls on low G planets and just generally avoiding rocks on the ground. A much smoother ride.

One should not drive the SRV.

it is stuck fast. Time to log out and into ED not horizons? then I assume log back in to horizons from space? before I do this any other ideas how to free it? full pips to engines btw.

Thrusters should easily free you, but i've not seen what you are stuck on. Have you looked in the SRV controls to see what is assigned to 'Vertical Thrusters'? Is it space bar?

Maybe try it with drive assist off? I never use the assist

yes space bar is vertical thrusters. I am stuck against a rock formation. wheels just keep spinning and cant rock it. been trying for an hour. it wont budge.

Nope and it will fix your current issue, but you really should get your SRV controls working to get the most out of it. You did look under SRV controls correct? It is a separate section from your ship's flight controls.

yes i checked. only shows vertical thrusters as space bar. it just lifted for a moment but then stayed stuck.

This makes it sound like it was an accident ... There is nothing accidental when I drive off cliffs. It is the fastest way down.

Thrusters should easily free you, but i've not seen what you are stuck on.

I have seen some pretty severe cases in the Inara gallery ...

Yeah, the fighter bays can remake multiple fighters, why can't the srv hanger

back on planet now. Dont understand how I got so stuck. I guess I drove too close to a rock? wheels were spinning but would not free it. rocking it didnt help. Lost a couple of hours really.Thrusters lifted it once but it was still stuck! go figure!

so glad I didnt lose the srv. Was going to fit 2 but saved the weight for the jump distance! bit nervous about these srv's now. It could easily happen again and again.

I don’t know how much you tried, but generally it can take a bit of tilting back and forth to actually get loose from somewhere where you get really stuck. Just quickly pressing and releasing the thruster button is not going to do it. I have only gotten so stuck that I could not get loose once and then just logging to main menu and relogging solved the issue.

I tried going forward and back lots of times. I logged off and on several times. I wish I had used the camera to take a look but didnt think about it. so no screenshots. how do you tilt as opposed to rocking back and forward?

I mean while pressing the thrusters. I strongly suggest that you check all of the key bindings for any heading containing "Driving" and think about what they should do and whether you might need them or not.
