some basic a to b to c here:
Probably not so jarring. My bet is that we're not going to have seamless continuous avatar movement ala Star Citizen; much more likely you'll pick a menu option to "get in/out of cockpit" (which will only be available under specific limited circumstances), and then there will be a fade to black ala switching to SRV or SLF. Plenty of time to take off/on your VR headset and get settled. Putting your VR headset on/off will if anything feel more immersive, reminiscent of taking your actual flight helmet on/off in real life.Do you not think that will be really jarring?
And yet somehow you managed to put tab Q into slot Z.
It's genuinely fascinating watching you convince yourself that VR support for SC is basically a foregone conclusion. Please do carry on. It's very entertaining![]()
this game has NOTHING going for it other than it's the only game where you can fly space ships in VR.
That had nothing to do with Frontier and everything to do with Apple not interested in using up to date OpenGL I think.I bet this is what MacOS users thought too.
I, ehm, supprt VR support! This is the only game I play in VR, and only half the year (too hot the rest of the year). But it is the best thing I have ever seen and played in VR. NMS can do it, so c'mon Frontier! Do it! Do it! Do it!

I relayed what they put out, not my opinion, but what they've said. Going by that, it's currently hopeful thinking that VR is not going to get dropped from Elite.
If you value what Frontier says/does more then CIG, then no response form Frontier and dropped flag from the steam page is currently more proof VR is getting dropped then statements CIG has made about VR in SC in their own posts.
That was a convenient excuse to shift blame, is all that was. They ported the game to PS4 for god's sake. That had nothing to do with Frontier and everything to do with Apple not interested in using up to date OpenGL I think.

Man, you guys need to take a break from the game and stop complaining.
They are not going to yank VR out of the game.
It simply means there won't be support for VR controllers for the 'on foot part'.

This is about VR, not a rehashed macOS client argument. What is a note of concern is that Frontier will neither confirm nor deny. That was a convenient excuse to shift blame, is all that was. They ported the game to PS4 for god's sake.
Because much to many many peoples disapointment, VR is a gimmick with the current technology, it works great while in the cockpit, but moving about on the surface in first person would be horrible. VR for first person shooters is very very gimmicky and is just not there with the technology to be viable.
I highly suspect what it will be is, there will be VR support for in cockpit activites, but the second you get up and start moving around on your feet. Its going to be no VR support at this time.
