"The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels."

I wasn't aware the game included audacity and a ui interface to record and playback audio in it. Is it only accessible in cqc?

you wouldnt need a UI interface 100%... for a spectorpgraph analysis, a recording with a tape recorder would work techinally, though no where near as clear or accurate, but if your using windows 10 or xbox, you can screen record, built-in, and that can record audio. Windows 10, also allows audio output to be used as input, so you can technically have LIVE audio from you pc output into any software that can use a mic, like audacity. So kind of, there were some ui's accessible.

Now as for audacity, thats where I agreed it technically should have been an EULA violation to use it, BUT the problem is, their EULA says its only a violation if you use a file created by ED/Fdev, or "mined" it for lack of a better description.
If you make the recording yourself, thru a screen recording ie., you techinically own that file, not Fdev, and you can put the clip into any software you want without breaking their EULA, just like you can upload it to youtube without a violation. As long as you dont use that file in any commercial things like Dj's using screenrecorded music videos would be illegal. but for personal things ect, screen recordings are legally the owners to do what ever they want with.

My personal feels are though, Fdev should have given us in-game tools for everything that we might need. I just personally disagree with expecting people to use other tools to fully enjoy or use somthing they paid for already. It feels like if Netflix were to say we HAVE to use a VPN service to watch shows. Just unfair becuase some users might not have access to those things and should not be denied the experience becuase of that. Not everyone has a computer, and it shouldnt be expected inorder to solve Xbox or PS in-game things.

I have about five of those mysterious idols that i picked up from Epsilon Indi. What should i do with them?

Edit: Also, after spending the week doing mail missions for TDW, i left to do some other things and i havent been back. Should i come back and do more mail missions? Or have we won the election yet?

and in other news, galnet seems to be back strong with the staggering amount of 1 articles for all of us free tinfoiled pilots to read and enjoy. i bet theres SOME link between those Nanomedicines and raxxla in there somewhere.... or is there? after all. it's not all fluff anymore.

sigh...the truth is, we've been dried out of content for so long, that we tinfoiled about pretty much everything at this point. i thought this would be some nice new and refreshing meals for us to munch on, even if it ended up being completely a hoax. imagine all the tinfoil goodies we could have extracted from that. thats a fresh new LEAD watson🧐

after all, you know what they say. if it got deleted, it propably was ...cough cough ... brb my cat needs me

The FD storyline moves slow. At the moment we have Humans and Thargoids (possibly two warring factions of said crustacean predators), with placeholder slots for Guardians (or their descendants, though I suspect that is humanity), Guardian AI, and possibly some more alien species in out of the way permit locked areas like Bovomit etc.

Thargoids have been gathering human escape pods for around a year now, so they’ve got a lot of experimental subjects/body parts and will understand human anatomy pretty well. They must have engineered them into their ships and this is likely to add a new dimension to AX conflict in the coming war.

I suspect these nanomedicines will be viable for some aspect of this storyline, possibly recovering Thargoid-engineered humans. However I also remember some Galnet posts about Utopian experiments with uploading human memories etc to a network, which was highly reminiscent of Guardian AI inception. So it is also possible that these nanomedicines are the next step in producing our own human AI nemesis, proving once again that humanity as a species consistently fails to learn from its mistakes and is therefore an evolutionary dead end. 🦕🦕

That's not what data mining is.

Recording what the game parses like audio data into a file so you can parse it externally is no different than if you went into the folder holding game data files and found audio files and did the same thing. This would be no different than slipping into the game's loading of meshes to save them and finding that it loaded a certain mesh when you entered a system to discover a given alien or whatever was in the system that you otherwise wouldn't know. It's the same process. Hell, it even runs extremely close to the kind of cheating that people do when they run third party tools to live-analyze audio and overlay reticles where the source of the sound is in relation to your character. It's a step beyond macro tools since a player not parsing this data with external tools would never get the encoded info and that info was directly useful in uncovering the plot of the narrative at the time.

If fdev is consistent with one thing, it's not being consistent. Whether it's rules, lore, or upcoming features, etc. Anyway you slice it, the hiding of clues in data that had to be saved and processed external to the game runs afoul of the same exact things described in the eula as being against the rules, and was a stupid way to go about the in-game mystery. I mean, after doing that intentionally, how could you not expect players to search for clues across the entire game not just in audio but meshes/textures/maybe even network chatter? How would anyone know where the next clues could be hidden once you open the data the game is using to external analysis like that? I doubt anyone would side with fdev on any kind of data mining tos infraction after that. They encouraged it early on.

Not that raxxla is in any danger of being found by grepping the client. Not only does the location of things not get stored in the client, but it's highly doubtful fdev would ever risk custom assets for raxxla. The first person who finds it, if it's ever found, will likely find an existing asset placeholder. Only the narrative has a chance of being data mined, and raxxla will never be part of the narrative.

Yes, some men in black have been studying these mysteries for hundreds of years. Actually the site is Tel Abib, "the hill of spring" by Chebar river, in Babylon, not Mount Olympus (nor contemporary city of Tel Aviv). Interestingly the fiery wheels of Ezekiel are also called Ophanim, Thrones or angels. Remember, Omphalos is also a throne, and in some sense thematically close to mountains, and that of a deity. Also, the idea of four hayyoth, living beings, had long lasting impact on later religious images.

Maybe space madness overhelms me, but it looks like mocking. "We know that you can't obtain permit right now, but we didn't tell you about it. Feel free to discuss this as long as you want". So frustrating if you ask me
I reckon we need to expand the dark wheel faction to within a certain distance of LFT509 or to a specific system before a permit mission is released.
FD's response about it not being obtainable now, would be true.

Yes I thought the same. Was hoping for a clear yes or no. The cynic in me feels like they know the permit is unobtainable right now and also know it doesn't go down well. So they make it a bit ambiguous.

Got a reply from frontier support re permit for LFT 509.

In the release notes for the 1.2 Wings release it mentions LFT 509 and two other systems:

"Adding valuable salvage convoys to three permitted systems: LFT 509, Isinor, Witch's Reach"

Isinor - "This pastoral system supports an agricultural economy but doesn't welcome strangers. So much so that the governing council won't permit a starport in orbit for trading. The permit for this system can be obtained via the Chapter of Isinor faction."

Witch's Reach - "This system is locked by the Pilots Federation, no permits are currently issued."

LFT 509 - "This system is locked by the Pilots Federation, no permits are currently issued."
