Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

My main fighter has two huge beams and MCs everywhere else. The corrosive experimental is a handy mod to have.

And, because I'm such a useless pugilist, I turreted all the cannons :D

ETA It's taking ages to get home. Still 30 carrier jumps to go

In game, I'm still out in the void, making my slow way back with no schedule at all.

In RL, I'm heartbroken over the loss of my little co-pilot, Dusty. He was an old bunny (about 8 years) so it wasn't exactly unexpected, but it was sudden. His body just...stopped working.

So here's a toast to all the sweet furry family members we have. Love them while you can.

Here's a picture of him outside in the grass, a Spring or two ago. He was the best of the bunnies :)

I've always been a little more concerned with rodents/rabbits than cats because they seem to have more bite damage. I consider rabbits to be a hybrid though and more like cats.

Rest in peace, Mr Bigwig. I salute the General. 0>

The return journey to the bubble is firmly underway but I'm still a good way out. Tritium appears to be rarer coming home than it was going out - down to bad luck on my choice of route, I 'spose.

Gratuitous carrier shot du jour:

On that lit-up pad is Tiffany Aching, a Cutter. Take the size of that ship and compare it against the carrier and one can appreciate just how big FC's are 🤯
Nice. Tyres is returning to the bubble. That makes me happy.

Regarding the image in your signature: Betelgeuse 2 I guess? I recently visited that planet. Great little trip out of the Bubble, and that star is mighty big. AFAIR the planet is further away from the star than the distance from Earth to Sol, giving some sort of indication of how big Betelgeuse actually is.

When sitting there on the planet looking at the star, for some strange reason I think I heard somebody shouting "DEHYDRATE!" ;)

Betelgeuse is a beast of a star. She almost certainly won't blow up in our ifetime but she's sexy. Mmm mmm mmmmmmm....

Ran a few missions from Cubeo waiting for the PP tick last night, and hit a familiar problem, losing my thrusters / ability to roll on both the T9 and the Cutter. V strange. Did a bit of searching and learned that there’s a feature on the XBox where a click (accidental or intentional if you know what you’re doing...) on the left stick switches you into an alternate set of flight controls.

Need to test tonight, but may have learned something new. Might take it as an opportunity to add a couple of key binds for 75% throttle and ‘select next system’ for those emergency escapes.
I might be at Cubeo tomorrow and have to buy a garbage hauler so I can get me some prismatic shields for storage. Cover me, Gheera, if you see me.

For what it's worth, rabbits are neither rodents nor felines, they are their own category, called lagomorphs.

Rabbits have their own personalities. Mine was a very relaxed and friendly fellow, not prone to biting.

However, he did nip my wife on the butt one time when she didn't move after he poked her to move. And he did lash out at me once, but it was my fault.

I had a cat, a long time ago. I got a few bites and scratches from him.

I don't think any of the dogs through the years have ever bitten me, not enough to draw blood anyway.

I think I have drifted off topic. :)

'I see all!'
Yes, the back end of my Python in this case, you muppet.
In other news:
The 'Silly Sale' has finished on my carrier, back to wartime profiteering practices!
Decided to leave it open for business in Witch Head over the weekend, with a view to dumping the stock at the nearest port on Monday.

Still up for the 'Humanitarian' Tritium delivery expedition to Colonia.
The plan is to fly a parallel route to the carrier in the 'Tijuana Taxi II', doing exploration, jumping back to the carrier to do mid route fuel transfers.

Meantime, pootling about in the Python 'Scavenger' collecting from HGEs and generally upsetting the big powers.(y)

You have educated me so it was worth something.

HGE scavenging continues.
Doing a loop of systems between the CG and Achenar, getting Fed and Imperial junk.
CG system in the 'weak' unarmed Python is entertaining.
Several interdictions, lost two. One I took some hits, but hi-waked. The other got my shields down (4C Bi-weaves) I hit the wrong controls and low-waked, immediate interdiction again, but I'd already started to wind the FSD up and managed to get lined up on my next system: interdiction fail! Good ol' Python.
Heat sinks worked a treat, you do NOT get to target lock! ✌
