ANNOUNCEMENT Game Balancing

I think flechette are desined to be this kind of weapon but are to weak right now.

Unfortunatly everything that can be added to piracy to immobilise ships can be applied to combat and may become totaly OP.

tbh it's kinda hard to design good pirate tools here. (unless you have brigth idea :p ).
Well, let's start with my idea of "capturing" ship. Then, pirates should NEED to pull me out of SC to scan me and not just somehow know I am carrying a load of cargo. And yes, if Odyssey has base capturing (not sure it does) but a way to take over an outpost, it should have a tractor weapon to take over a ship. Of course, your ship can have counter measures, like tractor repulse. And pirates should be thinned out. Pirates should be more rare to run across. It's almost like the Bubble is one big ghetto of thugs looking to steal your stuff. Ha! Like as soon as you drop into a mining hotspot, you get scanned by pirates. What's the point. Change this to be sometimes you get scanned and sometimes you get scanned AS you're mining! Also, one of the dumbest mechanics in this game... you're at a NAV Beacon or whatever, you kill a pirate from a faction, right in front of another pirate from the same faction and he does nothing? Really? Unless they are Winged, he just ignores you killing one of his faction ships. Once you kill ANY faction ship, unless that pilot is also wanted BY their own faction for some tracheary, you should be on the wanted list for that faction and you should be able to either have a ongoing "war" with that faction, maybe for a period until things cool off, OR you could negotiate with that faction to make amends in some way. Maybe you need to clear your name with them by running a kill mission on one of their rivals, thus leading to other problem with another faction. There's so much that could be done to improve game play and add "stories", solid and meaningful objectives. And that's just a single small area of game play improvement. Exploration in this game and WHAT you find needs a complete maker, complete! There should be SO MANY "objects" out there to discover, analyze, take and sell or part out, or just store, not to mention alien tech stuff. Also, you should be able to work on your own modules by "learning?" different modules, then engineers can be either removed or used for the basic upgrades. Man, I could go on and on. The entire system of module storage and bookmarks needs a complete re-work! Why can't i build a ship one way, SAVE IT, then re-outfit for another purpose and SAVE IT? Then, instead of spending time changing out modules (doesn't take that long but still takes time) you could just LOAD your preset build for any ship need, fast!

A simple harpoon that has very slow speed of deploying, like 30 m/s. Useless in combat, unless you are a master then you deserve to use it :D and easily doable when enemy has disabled thrusters.

I think everyone has their wish list. I have posted before about having more science stuff to do. You should be able to have lots of different probes. Probe Stars. Probes to collect biological samples from ammonia worlds or gas giants with water based life. Do geophysics surveys, ground radar mapping, take core samples and seismic testing for large mineral deposits. Have an exploration/survey SRV with the sort of kit you would see on a Mars rover. Biological sampling too, but it looks like we are getting that in Odyssey. This would give hours of gameplay to do on a single system and in a system rich in discoveries could see you coming back with a billion credits worth of data. Trouble is FDev will never be able to satisfy every player, which is why Odyssey is focusing on the most popular and even then hasn’t included ship interiors which many players have asked for.

didn’t understand that I wouldn’t be able to walk my ship in the odyssey?

In the latest up date there was some kind of power distribution change.

My ship is now 117/100 over power from what it was before the last update.

what changed to core modules or optional modules, to reflect this increase of power consumption?

THAT... CAN´T... BE... REAL...

If it were, it would destroy my faith in science.

I'm a late-comer to this topic, and to the game, actually. I've been playing Elite Dangerous about 5 months. I enjoy core mining as a way to make credits. Because of this 'game balancing' I know that some of the mineral prices have changed. My problem/complaint/question is: What has happened to all the core mining rocks? I am lucky to find more than 2 core rocks now in a 2 hour mining session. Today it was only one core void opal where I usually mine. Is this 'game balancing' working as designed? If so, I'll hope I can find something else to enjoy while making money.

Some would say it's the Pulse Wave Analyzer and some would say that FDEV "thinned" the Cores (me!), if maybe not even intentionally knowing FDEV. Also, I have done a LOT of testing with Cores... and here's what I have found, as of a few weeks back, when Cores were still selling at a GOOD price. Single HotSpot, Double, TRIPLE even, makes no difference in amount or even WHAT Cores you'll find, also... systems marked as Low to Pristine tend to yield the same amount of Cores, and I've actually done BETTER in a LOW Reserve system. Also, you don't even really NEED a "HotSpot". If you're looking for say VO or LTD, just drop into ANY Icy Ring and ping away, you'll find probably just as many Cores in a random non-hotspot as a marked "HS". Just been my testing, as VO mining is/was, my passion in this game, or a least my money maker. Just about gone now.

In response to your feedback, will bring a series of balancing adjustments to the rate at which credits are earned in each core gameplay mechanic: mining, trade, combat and exploration. Our goal is to have rewards better match the level of skill, effort, and risk each method requires. This means we'll see increased credit rates in some activities and reductions in others.
here is a big wet kiss from me :) how much skill and effort to outfit a ship is needed for mining compared to say BH or AX? I mean to build a decent AX vette takes 1. rep with feds, 2. Unlocking engineers and collecting materials, 3. Unlocking guardian tech and collecting their materials... to build a mining ship? go to popular mining spot, check which FC sells mining lasers etc, wack it on whatever you are flying... job done in what 45mins? LOL...ehm no offence to any of snowflakes ofcourse :)

Is poverty in your opinion freedom?

i think so mining should be over profitable, the freedom of a person just not to do what he does not want ... show me a person who is really crazy about mining? seriously show me at least one miner in real life who is high? don't like mining don't do it why others have to suffer, what kind of fascism?
Wut?

Personally I feel if they want to rebalance thargoids they need to do it so you can't insta kill a thargoid no matter how much DPS you and the instance have.

I thought the best way to do this is put a hard limit on the thargoids.

Either add stronger shields or do it so you can do more than 20% until you kill the hearts.

People are already cheesing thargoids and are happily premoting it on reddit and social media.

For example to insta kill a cyclops it only takes 1 anaconda ten seconds or so but it can take someone who's doing it properly about 10 minutes.

STILL NO UPDATES BRUCE OR FDEV? Has the Exploration changes been implemented in the game yet? BTW, It's Monday LOL... TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY :)
The last update said no more changes this year so I am guessing the next update will come probably second week of January, no doubt with a forum post just ahead of it as has been the practice so far.

Thanks Commander, just many were saying the balancing with still doing exploration after combat/Xeno tweaks. I appreciate you replying 07

With all those PC mods out there, The legends will keep doing it lol. I always take the slow way on cyclops by killing each heart to get the prize. Basic ammo is all i use but hay am definately no expert. I hope the goids whoop our human butts LOL... I'm only on ps4 for now, So no Added perks with editing files :p

You can do it on all platforms as it is. Atleast the 20%maximum damage before you have to take a heart out will stop the insta killing
