Newcomer / Intro I got the ship that can kill anything, now what?

When you start to find Medium Conflict Zones boring in the future (they are often harder than the High CZs due to less allies to distract the SpecOps), find a Threat 7 Pirate Activity, take some gold with you. They are rare. You will get all the action you want, and more.

Actually try it without the gold first. You'll find proper strong Elite Anacondas there, among others.

Another thing you can try is defending an installation or a megaship from a pirate attack - easier to win, but also easier to find and can still hurt a bit, depending how good the police is. You can of course also join the pirates.

If all of this is still to easy for you, there is always crime - you will get the attention of the police at some point, don't run, fight them. They'll give you the tough fights eventually, when they call in the big ATR ships.

If you need those shield cells, rethink - you basically need healing potions to survive a regular fight.
Or get a proper ship, did I mention the Eagle MK II is taking a bit more effort to get those big ships down. Less point and wait for boom, more flying! WIN!

There is strong sense of thinking expensive ship = best ship, and big ship = best ship. While I personally like big ships, in combat those things, well lets say they truly need strong shields. People do not play say thargoid hunting with Kraits because its too easy with big bad Anaconda, but because some agility is better than sheer size. Also well I have something quite a bit sturdier than OP's Anaconda, well I'm not likely best pilot around but those NPCs one can find out in CZ's surely can beat me and my big bad ship...

If trashing things with the biggest baddest ship available is REALLY what you are after, walk away now, you have done it.
There a million other things to do in the game, but you have pretty much achieved that one. Engineering will make it easier, but that's all.

I bought a corvette yonks ago to use as module storage - last weekend I thought I'd fit it out and go ramp up the combat rank of my LEP (I don't do much combat - so it is only Competent).

Anywayup - took it to a HAZ RES and got bored watching pirate scum pollute the place with their mats. Seriously boring to have an overpowered big ship against NPCs.

Came back, got in the Vulture, went back and actually had fun (strange since I don't normally like combat) - went back, changed into ViperIV, went back had even more fun, went back, changed into CobraIV, went back and basked in its exclusive pirate-scum chewing glory (well, until a wing decided to strip my shields and made me jump out).

So @bluflame - "now what?" is park the killing machine and go pew-pew in smaller ships, it is much more interesting than sitting in a tank.

!!!!!!!!!!My dude you might be spot on, i need to up my rank!!!

outfitting wise, I might've clicked something wrong on coriolis because it has enough power, i turned off the fuel scoop, extra shield banks, repair lumpet and afmus. its like 99% but everything for combat is working. any advice how to improve it? what engineering to get for a gimballed lay out like this? are there beam lasers that can be pressed contionously?
Well, you'll definitely need to improve your power output and adjust your priorities - having to turn off 2 out of 3 SCBs more or less negates them as a tactical advantage.
While there are of course different strategies, my advice would be to lose one of those SCBs, it's only taking up space and mass. Put something useable in there, like hull reinforcement. As your rank increases, so will the strength of your enemies - in spades.
When using SCB's, it's generally wise to wait until your shield is very low - dim last ring - then fire both with a Heat-sink charge, like so: I have 'V' assigned to heat-sinks and 'C' to SCB's, so I hit C, count to three, then hit V,C, fully recharging my Shields from near depletion. Firing only one (especially while under fire) gives you no-where near sufficient recharge to justify the weight and energy cost.
If you're fine with the fighter bay, that's good - I personally don't like using an SLF but it's a legitimate tactic. I would personally put some more reinforcement in there, but to each their own in that case. :)
Your weapons are your choice. Whatever works for you - as one who prefers kinetic weapons my own loadouts diverge from what is said to be 'best' here, and I like it that way. ;)
However, your current loadout is based strictly around short-range engagement and it's ultimately going to cost you - 31 Million at a time. ;) A skilled player will either simply stay 1.5km out and vapourize you (taking advantage of your lack of range) - or get in VERY close, get behind you and treat you to the same fate (taking advantage of your lack of experience). Look for a decent balance of range vs. energy cost and damage output and especially a balance that feels comfortable and you don't need to juggle in combat.
Remember that as rank increases, so does the strength of your enemies. You have faced Anacondas? Great - Elite Anacondas are coming soon, and top-notch fully Engineered Anacondas with Powerplay weapons are another matter altogether.
Always remember: it is not the SHIP you are facing, it's the pilot inside it and as rank increases, you're going to find smaller Elite ships bloody murder to deal with in a fairly unmanoeuverable ship. You'll need to learn how to deal with the high-speed Joust and anticipate the attack or, once again, you'll be brought down from behind.
Good luck!

Each to their own of course, I quite like having them around. 😁
I don't use them very often, but when I do need them, I REALLY need them NOW lol.
As for caustic, four Gauss Cannons do the job quite nicely, I find. ;)
Yea I do that too. I usually end up over doing the gauss though. Typically its because of going to silent running to speed the process

Don't get cocky, kid ;)

Actually, do get cocky. I like your "I'm invincible, watch out, galaxy!" attitude, I really do. You're wrong on so many levels, as others have pointed out in more or less friendly tones, but it's the kind of attitude that gets you places, even though you'll stumble along the way, but those stumbles are fun too!

You keep doing you, keep charging head on into scuffles until you meet your match and then some, and you will, and then rest assured that we'll all be here with advice to help you overcome that hump because it's what we do. Never mind us poking fun at your "invincible" ship now, because that's also what we do. We were all you at one point, and it's always nice to see another join the fray.

Welcome to the 'Verse, CMDR. o7

ok mister admiral general, ive explicitly said i know i will get rekt by engineered ships in pvp and you still had to say that lol. Any advice on where to go and what to fight? Not thargoids because people do it in kraits and its probably for a good reason, i have one, just havent outfitted it for that yet.

I am neither an admiral nor a general, I'm a Duke, get it right. If you start a thread by claiming you have a ship that can kill anything... what did you expect? Mostly what you did, was expose how little you know about combat ship building and combat in the game. To reiterate other posters:
1: You are spawning weak enemies in certain situations because of your combat ranking (what is it by the way?)
2: If you want to test your amazing ship that can kill everything and mad combat skillz, stack loads of Elite missions, try some threat level 7 activity, go after all the Spec Ops all at once (Alpha First), hunt Thargoids (any ship can do it), do some assassinations and then stick around and show the ATR who's boss, but don't go pick a fight in Open with a Cmdr flying a properly fitted combat ship - that would make you sad.

PS Your reliance on SCBs could well come back to haunt you - you do know there is a weapon special effect that cancels out SCBs while they are charging right?

How could I possible know that? I didnt even know i could use 2 scbs at once:D But most importantly, why are you angry at my ship?xD

I would like you to try it out!!!! I guess you have like all slots engineered and everything but im still up to try it out
Well it would go like most part of time you would not even see that viper while your shields go down, when you see it, your gimbal weapons will not lock. Eventually unless you jump away, or menu log you would see rebuy screen.

I'm from Australia mate so at work at the moment for another 6hr.
To friend someone - I think it's an ingame operation as that's all I could do when someone texted hello in the game.
I play in VR so talking may be the best communication if you have a mic.
We'll have to somehow organise a time when we're both on.

When you friend someone in the game and you're both in there - you can see where they are so that part looks good.
