Just to put things into perspective a little (and I don't really want to make this thread about FC income/expenses as such) - the 30 minutes I spent last night on something very tedious but rather low effort (if you've been playing the game for a while and accumulated a few dozen G4/5 data mats) I would be able to fund my FC (13m per week running costs) for 54 weeks, as in over a year, without even booting up the game and not considering my already existing credit balance. It's completely meaningless now.Fleet Carriers don't interest me due the ongoing running cost involved with them. Been down this road before, it reminds me of the old Freelancer game and the mod server for it called Discovery Freelancer that added stations you could build, but then they needed a constant supply of materials to keep them going. Which meant you was always doing trade runs more than anything else to keep a base going. Same thing here really with FC, they are mobile bases that you have to be constantly grinding credits out for their upkeep. Just another way to keep you playing the game more. But it gets boring and monotonous after a while.
