They're as sad as the rest of us at what Frontier delivered.
This is very true. But as mentioned above, content creators jumping on the hype bandwagon and pouring petrol on the fire isn't either. If content creators loved the game as much as we're being led to believe, then encouraging their followers to engage in CIVIL criticism rather than focusing on how Frontier are greedily ripping them off (while, as someone said, giving a shoutout to their sponsors, shaking the Patreon tin, and demanding you to like and subscribe) would be more beneficial to all. Surely you can see that it's just not a good situation that the ONLY people who can actually fix the mess are being harassed and threatened?

I'm so sad my girlfriend's having a bad day I decided to cut her head off?
Oh yeah and speak for yourself. I've been having a great time wuth EDO.
they've been 'swindled' out of money.
In a completely unsurprising turn of events you'll find Juniper has been extremely negative about ED for years if you check his posting history. Some people are upset because performance issues prevent them from playing. Some don't like the concept of space legs. Some people dont even play ED but hover around all space games to plug that other thing. But people like Juniper have been furious for years and simply latch on to any dissent.I'm so sad my girlfriend's having a bad day I decided to cut her head off?
There is no money in nuance. FD should just promise they will add everything soon, so streamers can yell its the best thing ever. If not, its the worst thing ever. And something else is the best thing ever.Evidently that's the way it is,t doesn't mean it's healthy though. The people who kickstarted the game for example, have supported the project long enough to know developing it is an incremental process (that you have to have a bar, before you can add any kind of cyborg bartender, for example) who maybe don't have enough regular hours or cash to set up similar channels, to give alternate viewpoints (I'm a cleantech research engineer) also lose out - possibly lose their game - while these guys have a little circle jerk.
Go on then. We've had a number of fix updates already (and bet you any money there will be more), everyone got to see the alpha first. Where's the "swindle"?
I wasn't suggesting that anyone should be harassed or threatened??
You were always more into the combat side of E: D than I was as I recall.
@Obsidian Ant perhaps it might be something to include/address in your next Elite video, that the... shall we say stringent backlash of some members of the community could be having a negative impact on further development/repairs to the game and it'd be in the best interests all round to keep criticism civil?

You seem to have a lot of strong opinions about things you didn't experience.I have an LEP so didn't experience this, but I can imagine it would be annoying.![]()
Hypothetically: if you were negative or upset about something in ED, and the same thing is similar or worse in SC, would you point it out in your next stream? Or will you keep quiet about it as long as your target audience isn't aware of the issue yet?As to some content creators fleeing to Star Citizen. I think that's entirely natural. [...]
For me, I rarely touch Star Citizen. I will likely start producing 3 or 4 videos a month on it perhaps.
Regardless of what some people actually chose to believe on the forums, the fact is that interest in Elite is at an all time low. As I said earlier, YouTubers have access to a lot of information in the form of stats. Those stats show that interest is on a downward trend. Why would any content creator not look elsewhere for content? [...] I still enjoy the Horizons element of Elite. I certainly don't need Elite, or the views it provides...but I still like being a part of the Elite community.
I'll bet you a fiver.

I only lost £750 for playing the original alpha and betas
Maybe the lesson here is to be less 'all or nothing', and not more of it.Maybe because of this.

"I spend a huge amount of money on the idea of a computer game, but now I am going to irrationally rage against it for years!"
Neither is that great, mate.
Reading these forums does make it easy to see how Trump & Brexit happened. If you consider loyalty to be endlessly dumping on something for the peanut gallery whilst shaking the patreon tin, then yes. Personally, I don't.
