I don't even know what the jewel box is...

I do have a question of my own, though. As I've been floating around the bubble I've been absorbing a lot of Raxxla material on the yoochoobs.

The landscape signal comes up fairly often, and I've dug around the forums and elsewhere to find more.

My specific question though is - is ther a compeling reason to interpret the signal as a 'landscape image'?

Sure, it looks like a drawing of a mountain, but is it one? Is there any reason not to read it as something else? Like, say, lines on a map?

I don't know which map, or even if that's what it could be, just trying to figure out if I've missed something with this one.

Its one of the Voyager probes if you ask me.
Watch The Farthest documentary and it is very simillar to images they put on screen around half way through showing sound bars from one of the probes.

And now I have another question.

Is there a version anywhere online of an ED Galaxy map similar in any way to the in game one?

I want to tray and triangulate positions relative to a number of systems, but if I zoom the ingame map out far enough to see them all, it becomes unreadable - ie too far out to see the systems in wuestion.

Hello again.
Such a question, what do you know about the jewel box
It's a sector in the outer orion spur, and is called like that because there are a lot of stars there on a small area.
If you start looking for anything there, see you in 2 months ;)

No, EDSM isn't what you want, and i as well wish there was one... unfortunately not.
Would have to program/code one ourselves XD

Only thing I can think of is it may match up to some constellations

Not that I'm aware of.... as well, I don't believe anything has ever come of it either

Edit: also I believe it's been suggested to overlay that signal on the galaxy map from EDSM or somthing, and it lines up, sort of, to Colonia and Sag A*.
Though I haven't seen a good version of it done and I don't believe it actually lines up, BUT it could be able too if its just a matter of having the right scale on the map and the signal... idk... but yea XD

You will find Struve 1694 as a seperate system also within 90ly of eachother, HD 112028 is Struve 1694 B which is also the second star of Struve 1694, Most likely something went wrong in the creation of the system making it the working jumpable one and this Struve 1694 B which is an error system and should only be the second binary star, when viewing the error system you will notice the star class is also set as "loading please wait" but the star class and system name are correct for the second star of the non error system

I dunno, looks like it might still be there!

Still, I'm in Khun having just unlocked Elvira, but I gotta go sleep now.

Maybe I'll check it out before heading on my 5k ly trip to unlock Palin and hopefully also hit Elite (Explo) so I can really start looking for Raaxla!

I always suspected this was either a bug or more probably just background ambience seeing as Cmdrs have triangulated the location and found nought there.

This was put to the CM AT and he said he wasn’t aware of it, albeit he did admit there was historical content in game prior to his employment which he had no idea about but he seemed genuinely surprised by the ‘content’ saying that it ought to be reported as a bug for investigation, but he didn’t think it was a bug, just somewhat odd…

Obviously it may be difficult to get confirmation out of FD.

In my experience I’ve found that if one directs a question so that it illustrates content perpetuates an impression players ought to interact with it, by its presence in game, it affirms it is active, this usually is enough to enable FD to identify it as a bug to confirm the customer is not wasting their time chasing windmills… or something to that effect.

It then stands to logical reasoning that if it’s not confirmed as a bug it is genuine content; or tied to a narrative, or never turned on, or partially implemented…etc etc.

I suspect it’s just poorly implemented ambient noise for Sag A.

Always a strong contender - other spectrogram based content has been unabiguously CONTENT, whereas the Landscape Signal appears to be 'some lines'.

This would also explain why the buzz around it seems to have died off pretty quickly.

Ok, having re-read the original post, I've been out to Struve 1694:

The system remains two white stars, dropped in at 1694 B, pressumably because its the more massive/centre of mass.

Doing a search on the galaxy map, searching HD 112028 brings you to Struve 1694.

Searching for Struve 1694 B, or Struve 1694B, turns up nothing.

I could've done that from anywhere in the map, but I'm chasing Explo Elite, so going out there helped :D

Yes however there used to be a second system named Struve 1694 B thet was about 60ly closer to the bubble that didnt show on galmap unless searched and bugged your game when you tried to jump to it, I presume they removed it but it was there since Gamma up until my last post about it, Look at my screenshot again and you will see the system you went to top left and the one Im talking about on the bottom right

I gotcha, that's what I meant by saying I re-read your post, and why I included the search for Struve 1694 in the image.

I'm saying my observations support your conclusion that it's gone

I might not have been very articulate about it, though :p

Edit: for spelling.
