Update 11 Patch Notes

Well in lads on getting Update 11 out the door, and always appreciate the efforts in moving the game forward. Initial impressions:
  • 100 item limit for the bartenders needs raising massively - like a zero adding at the end!!
  • Weekly upkeep costs for the new services are ludicrous. 1.75m a week for a @#%$@#$% bartender?? I have to pay 5m a week to allow a franchise to operate on MY property???
  • 100 item limit for the bartenders needs raising massively - like a zero adding at the end!!!
  • Jump timer issues I assume are down to thousands of carriers trying to jump at once, expect it to settle down.
  • 100 item limit for the bartenders needs raising massively - like a zero adding at the end!!!!!!!!!
  • Hopefully the inability to disembark gets sorted soon...
  • ...as does the profile pic issue with the NPC's
  • AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THE 100 ITEM LIMIT FOR THE BARTENDERS NEEDS RAISING!!!!

Carrier jump animation is nice, but sadly highlights the lack of proper AA implementation again (can be seen all along the bow of the carrier). Hope we get the new improved AA or news about it soon.

Sigh, it'd not be an issue if it were on console to worry about files. I think I need to go to bed even though it's 9am. I'm feeling like crap that I have to sulk playing elite now.

It can't be the same as before, since we couldn't see it from inside. ;)

It does look pretty fantastic though.
Just went and watched OA's latest video which shows the sequence - it's the same effects (thunder and black cloud) at the beginning and end of it, the sequence in-between (which is new) is similar to the ship one. But all in all it looks alright, yes.
The barman basically works the same as the FC cargo trade. You can't directly trade like at station bars. Basically to buy something from the barman you (or someone else) first needs to sell to them.

I mean, i could see it being useful from the point of view of people who like to gather Odyssey materials and let others come and buy them from them.
Did you check whether you can trade data though? I would find it useful to get rid of my Opinion Polls etc. I can't find any use for, and currently we can't trade data at all. But yeah, those mechanics are rubbish as I wrestled with them previously when I still had a FC. Could be so much more but is the usual MVP implementation.
The "shipyard" area is basically a just a small room with the big table with the spinning holo over it. You can press a button to change which ship is being displayed as a holo. You can also look through a window to see a SLF parked.
So basically the copy/paste version of Inter Astra. Meh.
That's it.

Its pretty pants.
Doesn't sound all that great I have to say... Oh one more thing, what are the cosmetics options like? Seems they come as standard as opposed to Arx-funded, which would be something at least.

You can sell opinion polls i think. You can only buy opinion polls if they have previously been sold there.

Cosmetics you get 3 provided. Its basically just different themes for the main bridge area. Unless i was not seeing something, it doesn't change the theme for the service areas.

Oh c'mon now - breaking the journal file naming

Oh c'mon now - breaking the journal file naming

The Update 11 Odyssey client has changed how it names the Journal files.

They used to be, and still are in the Horizons Update 11 client: Journal.YYmmddHHMMSS.XX.log (XX is the 'serial number')

Update 11 Odyssey is now using: Journal.CCYY-mm-ddTHHMMSS.XX.log

Because I chose to be paranoid about any extra files that Frontier might possibly add into the folder in the future (and also about users copying/renaming files in there), I implemented a strict filename match in ED Market Connector.

So, I just released EDMC 5.3.2 to address this and get it actually reading Update 11 Odyssey journal files.

Console player here. I appreciate I won't see this myself, but can console owned fleet carriers turn on odyssey only features for their fleet carriers ?
