The Black Diamond
Tourist Location: EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179
Bodies: EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 A, EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 B

Twin Neutron Stars set between Colonia and the last outpost in the Colonia Connection. There is also a S Class giant, EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 D in the system.
I'm sure it would make a great tourist AND scientific destination.
As mentioned in the reddit thread, here's another pair.

Name: CMDR TrapperQ
System: Dryio Gree GP-A c29-2

System contains one black hole ant three neutron stars including this pair.

Maybe we could compile a list of these things and run rallies between them.

Well... this thread is now useless. With the passenger missions bludgeoned to death by the nerf bat no one will be accepting them anymore. I mean with the amount of time involved a 40M payout for a trip to Sag A was about right. But now those same trips are only offering 3.5M. NOT worth the time it takes. And I suspect this is now going to occur with all passenger missions.

Couldn't agree more. They were a BIT overvalued before (seen 92 million to Sag A*), but this was too much. Hopefully they'll correct again, especially since cargo runs were also badly nerfed.

Yeah the whole thread is now worthless because you two beauts don't feel you can make enough credits. All 38 pages, a total waste of space.

I've never seen a game with such a bunch of babies amongst the player base. I mean I would honestly be ashamed to have posted something that pathetic.

CN Bootis is one of the most varied systems in core space. It has everything, asteroids, RES sites, gas giants, multi-color planets and moons in almost every shade of the rainbow. Main station is conveniently close to the star and there are a dozen places that are awe inspiring.

It has been my home system for some time now and highly recommended to visitors. CMDR Shadragon

At a mere 258LY from SOL, this is the nearest ringed natural (non-Terraformed) Earth-Like Planet known to date; its inner Ring is additionally even Pristine Metallic.
The distance of ~14770Ls isn't exactly around the corner but well worth the trip.

This system offers a rare treat for the travelling astronomer and cosmologist. Professional as well as amateur. The main star of this system is an unusually cool Wolf-Rayet star at 385 Kelvin, giving it the deep magenta hue associated with the coldest of brown dwarves and T Tauri stars. Its blue companion star will illuminate the passengers as they admire this stellar anomaly.

I have five stories published in a loose arc (one Galnet, others locally published) with my last story 'Infinity's Children' detailing a probe carrying Utopias technology and archived minds away to relative safety from the threat of potential war in the populated bubble.
------------------------------------------

Background stories:

Probability Space (the main reason why Utopia would do this- a prediction of an apocalypse)

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-and-news-items/page149?p=3859670#post3859670

Solid State (local news report on the first virtual Utopian commune)

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/248641-GalNet-Submissions/page5?p=3908805#post3908805

The Silent Arbiter (Galnet article, the first Power to warn of the consequences of a war over alien technology threatening human space)

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/248641-GalNet-Submissions/page32?p=4225844#post4225844

Ship in a Bottle (an in game news-story of this request, where Utopia creates a 'doomsday ark')

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/248641-GalNet-Submissions/page37?p=4273129#post4273129)

Infinity's Children (the launch of the device into deep space)

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/248641-GalNet-Submissions/page51?p=4355792#post4355792

------------------------------------------

These stories combine Powerplay lore / events with Galnet stories regarding alien technology / potential galactic war, established player lore of the Sim Archive (created by CMDR Cadoc and developed by me CMDR Gan/ Rubbernuke) and lore written by Frontier regarding Utopias simulation technologies.

It would be a great Easter egg to find, a quirky bit of player (and rare Powerplay related) lore as you find this oddity out on the galaxy's rim. It also acts as a twist on the 'Lost Colonies' lore, and shows the impact of a potential alien war and the steps taken to survive it.

------------------------------------------

In game assets added

POI (data satellite type) named 'Nirvana'

Location

Chanoa QK-C d14-0

Behavior when scanned

Displays message:

Greetings, Commander. Within this probe Utopian minds from the Antal Sim Archive populate the virtual commune of Nirvana, curating the knowledge and culture of Utopia safe from the ravages of the core worlds.

------------------------------------------

If you could include this it would mean a great deal to the Antal Powerplay group, and be a fantastic way to show the impact submitted stories can have on the galaxy of Elite Dangerous.

Nyuena Prime
(Nyuena Ro-Z d184)

Located in the Nyuena sector some 1800LY directly up from Sagittarius A*, this picturesque system is home to an ammonia world, several high metal content worlds, a ringed gas giant and a waterworld, all before one of the most spectacular sights in all the galaxy - the Milky Way Galaxy itself! From this vantage point the spiral arms of the galaxy can be glimpsed, all the way back to our home systems in the Orion Spur and beyond.

The system was the climactic final destination of the Cobra MkIII "Useless Reptile" during its pioneering first human journey to the Milky Way's central supermassive black hole in November and December 3300 - in the process becoming one of the first human craft to glimpse the Milky Way and its spiral arms near-face-on. Flying without the technological advances of modern hyperspace navigational technology, exploring without the knowledge of current exploration expertise, chased all the way by well-armed renegade pilots, and underequipped with a cracked canopy, this was as far as the ship dared to go before it headed back homewards to human-occupied space. The water world (back then classed as Earth like) was nicknamed "Reptile Nest" in honour of that tough little ship.

Recommended for any craft with a jump range over 23LY, this remote historical destination offers a breathtaking feeling of contemplation, wonder and awe as one gazes back at that distant, fragile collection of tiny indistinct pale yellow dots we call home...

This triple Black Hole system is something to be visited by the most foolhardy only!
Binary pairs greet the unwary explorer with the third star a short cruise away.

Moar medium range missions. Right now it is either under 300ly or around 14000-30000ly, not much in between.

Also less "oh wait, no, I want to go back, I changed my mind" mission changes.

Hi everyone!

We have the passenger gameplay coming as part of the 2.2 release, and there’s one aspect we’d like your input with. One of the reasons for passengers travelling is tourism, so we’re building a database of tourist locations in human space and beyond for the passengers to visit. We know that you’ve visited wonderful places and discovered some great sights, so we’re calling on you to post the place that you’d like to visit if you were a tourist.

To submit your suggestion you should provide the following information in a single post in this thread:

• Location name (this should include system name, body name and lat/long if the location is on the surface).
• A screenshot of the view.
• Your Commander name – this will be used as a location selected by, if it’s used.

The entries selected will be included in game, although we may not use them all for the initial release.

This thread is for submissions only, please do not conduct discussion in this thread to make it easier for us to keep track of submissions.

If there are multiple submissions for the same location then we’ll attribute the Commander who first suggested the location in this thread.

Moderator edit (sorry Michael) : If you wish to discuss this thread in general, please here. There is a separate thread for general discussion about passenger missions here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ing-2-2-Passenger-Tourist-Destinations-thread

Edit: Feel free to include a travel guide suggestion with your submission - there won't be a separate thread for this.

Thanks!

Michael

Somewhere we can actually make decent money without stacking and killing skimmers all day.

Short description: this is a Neutron star system I'd explored some time ago. It also contains a brown dwarf with some metallic planets and an asteroid ring for raw materials, and more importantly, it contains THREE Earth-Like Worlds around a third star as well as three Terraforming candidates. This exceptional system could be the base for a deeper-space jumping-off point, with up to six inhabitable worlds, as well as lots of places for raw metals, and a neutron star to provide a boost to any other destinations nearby.

I don't know if this one has been suggested before, but, how about...

System Name: 18 Camelopardalis C
Suggested name: Closest neutron star
CMDR name: Sali Vader

This is the only neutron star in the bubble, as far as I know. It's only 140ly from Sol! I'm sure tons of tourists would want to come here :D

System Name: Baukoa WX-O C20-1519 BC 1
Suggested name: Neon Lights
CMDR name: Duck of death
It's a system 0.2 light years off the epicentre of a planetary nebula. Leaving it right on the fringe of the blast. This creates a very surreal neon light.

Marker for me so I know where I've reviewed up to.

Michael, on the off-chance that I can catch you while you're here - is my Mitterand Hollow suggestion ever likely to make it into the game or should I stop hoping? I know it's just one of many many great suggestions but it's quite a popular one so I'm just curious to know if there's a problem with it.

System Name: Leesti
Suggested name: Leesti is Free

On 6th September 3302, AEDC returned this system to the control of Independent Leesti for Equality frrom a year long domination of the system by the ruthless Justice Party dictatorship. Their nefarious acts funded by the sales of Leestian Evil Juice were put to an end.
