ANNOUNCEMENT 2.2 Your Input Needed - Passenger Tourist Destinations

The 'Cat's Eye' triple black hole system

Hi everyone!

We have the passenger gameplay coming as part of the 2.2 release, and there’s one aspect we’d like your input with. One of the reasons for passengers travelling is tourism, so we’re building a database of tourist locations in human space and beyond for the passengers to visit. We know that you’ve visited wonderful places and discovered some great sights, so we’re calling on you to post the place that you’d like to visit if you were a tourist.

To submit your suggestion you should provide the following information in a single post in this thread:

• Location name (this should include system name, body name and lat/long if the location is on the surface).
• A screenshot of the view.
• Your Commander name – this will be used as a location selected by, if it’s used.

Thanks!

Michael

I found this system way back on my first galactic exploration.

Description:

I've heard people talk about the Space Cat. Space Cat this, Space Cat that - yeah, yeah. But have they seen it? Have they been caught in it's gaze; that colossal Eye staring at you; judging you. I've seen it; and it has seen me.

I was way out; heading for Sagittarius A*, but far off track. I saw a system from afar, blazing in the ultra-violet bands. I locked on and jumped. We I came out of the jump, the radiation alarm went nuts! A lethal wash of xrays and gammas was pounding on the sheilds; but my old Cobra Mk3 "?Syntax Error" held together. The scanner sent out it's pulse - triple black holes! Three of the monsters... I could see one straight ahead, bending gravity; but where were the other two? I rolled the Cobra around and there it was! THE EYE OF SPACE CAT! I said a prayer to any gods I knew - Bhudda, Hendrix, Bastet - I even vowed to serve the Simguru Pranav Antal all my days if I could just get away from that giant alien feline Eye.... I must have, because I'm here now. And I know - I KNOW that it's still out there... watching...

Ah OK then, I was going to wait until comets were made visible in the game, but who knows when that will be. I've know about Pareco for a very long time, ever since MB himself confirmed the mystery object, it's a brilliant and bizarre system and you don't truly appreciate what is happening until you are around 0.5Ls away from one of the stations. Here we have 6 stations orbiting a comet, they are so close together that when you are docked at some of the outposts you can actually see an Orbis station hanging in the distance. It is also one of the few systems where you can travel in normal space between the stations in a "reasonable" amount of time. It would also be another race that some of the co-pilots could have taken part in ;) We had a race there a while ago called 'The case of the missing comet', well now tongues have started wagging again and maybe it's time to open up the files...

Once again interest had picked up. It had been over 4 human generations since anyone who really knew what was going on in Pareco had been alive. Sure I had been manufactured back then... but my memories are not so good... someone's definitely been fiddling around there.

I can remember deciding to move to Pareco, well I remember the decision being made for me at least. Private detectives are not normally welcomed with open arms and cyborg ones even less so. I found Pareco, a little backwater system with no planets, but there were stations and outposts there... orbiting... no, no just there. I remember old Tom, I remember him being the only one who would answer any of my questions. Folk told me to ignore him, said he'd taken too much Onionhead when he was younger and didn't know what he was talking about, I'm not so sure. One night he came to see me, all excited about something and that's the last I remember. 3 maybe 4 days of black, Tom was nowhere to be found and no-one in any of the stations had heard of him. I knew there and then to stop with the questions and just play blissful ignorance. But things are changing.

In the last 18 months there's been a lot more pilots flying through Pareco, trade has picked up in the system and so has curiosity and now I have a new case. I got contacted by Bucky, he wanted to make sure that his recently set up supply lines with two of the distilleries here would not have any problems with what may, or may not, be in this system. I don't know who messed with my head the last time, but I know one thing for certain, I would take annoying them over Bucky any day.

So I need all the help I can get to see if we can find out what's going on in this system. Maybe you'll bump into something while flying between stations, or maybe you'll bump into someone in one of the bars.

Possible desc: This high metal world was found on November 14, 3302 during expedition to the Wolf-Rayet C star in Csi+47-21046 system. Deep scanning have revealed extremely rich underground deposits of Germanium, Niobium and Tungsten, but due enormous volcanic activity and high surface temperature are conventional mining methods impossible.

Can I make another recommendation?

Black Hole, Neutron Star, White Dwarf, and an Earthlike. An excellent destination for those set on research of these three high-desnity objects of the galaxy. The perfect scholarly location, though please bring sunscreen.

Dance of Cerberus

An odd system, with two Neutron Stars, a Black Hole, and two Class G stars. Each Neutron Star is paired with a Class G. With the Black Hole near one of the pairs.
This system is 28000 LY from Sol, and a few thousand LY from Colonia.

System Name: Juenoe EG-Y g1913
Body: Juenoe EG-Y g1913 A/B They are in super close oribit of each other :)

Moar medium range missions. Right now it is either under 300ly or around 14000-30000ly, not much in between.

Also less "oh wait, no, I want to go back, I changed my mind" mission changes.

You should try coming out to Polo Harbour, 40 passenger missions on the board, every single passenger mission just over 17kly, every single passenger apparently wants to go to the bubble, nowhere else, not Colonia, none of the stations between, none of the interesting nebula way out here, every single one to the bubble!

You want to stack passenger missions this is the place to come, you have enough passenger space you could pick up 400 or 500m worth of missions to the same small area!

My input: (sorry to say Passengers has not compelled me since nerfing them and whilst it had the Wanted Passenger Instakill by Station BUG)

Make the game connect to our actions more create content from our own backstory based on our Roles played plus where we have been and became Allied to.
We should be getting Missions highly related to this plus Invites like we do for Engineers. That is the game content that is missing which connects us more engagingly.

BTW. why do we need to see Text Coms from a Captain of a Passenger Ship? "This is your Captain speaking..." errrrr he ain't my Captain and he ain't speaking to me!!!

This earthlike is the furthest one above the galactic plane that I've found and for an added bonus is in orbit about a neutron star. It may be worthwhile mounting scientific expeditions to find out what sort of life-forms could survive in such a heavily irradiated environment as well as the mystery of how life managed to evolve on such a planet in the first place. Furthermore it is way above the galactic plane so the chance of an extrasolar capture is very low, therefore it's likely that the planet became life-bearing after it fell into orbit about the neutron star.

Temperature, pressure, and atmospheric oxygen are all tolerable for humans but radiation-proof clothing is strongly advised.

A black hole inside a dark blue planetary nebula, which is in turn inside a large, dense cluster of bright blue stars. This is unusual amongst planetary nebulae in that its central remnant has already captured some extrasolar planets.

System/Object: STUEMEAE FG-Y D7561 CD 4 (Earth-Like World)
Proposed Name: The Mote in God's Eye
Distance from SOL: 25900 LY

Description: This is the closest Earth-Like world to Sagittarius A*, a mere 3.66 LY away. It is astonishing that there would be indigenous life on a world so close to the supermassive black hole, and in such a chaotic stellar environment. If you are going to visit Sagittarius A*, a stone's throw away is a sight you must see!

Hi Michael,

is it okay for a player group minor faction to submit a tourist beacon on their home system for its Lore purpose? Or does it "jaw dropping scenery is a must"? Looking at those images posted in this thread, they are very beautiful indeed and my home system simply wouldn't be able to stand a chance visual wise.

So far I've only wrote article on Local Galnet, and it would like to know if it's possible to have our persistent piece of lore somewhere in our system.

Thanks!
