Lets do another 12 pages on that question :)

Are you saying that only the people that are willing to pay the $80 for the Early Bird has a right to post here, I sincerely hope not.

Have to agree, once the conversion is done I'd be paying over AU$100.00, I haven't paid that much for a triple A game for years thanks to digital delivery systems such as Steam and other online stores. I can't justify the cost to be honest. In terms of early access, history would suggest that EA is cheaper than the full game on release as they are trying to get more purchases. In relation to PC I am more than sure the game will be awesome so I can see the reasoning behind the high price but it also sets a precedence for other companies to do the same in the future. I would hate to see EA games go that direction as many flop hard and it can sometimes be difficult to get that refund and when the price is this high then it becomes even worse.
I'm not saying the game isn't worth by any stretch as I love roller coaster games and Frontier has an amazing history with them but I would think at this price point it will make many (including myself and other Aussies) people avoid it, I would much rather spend US$30,00 on the released game and maybe a couple of other additions and a season pass. Just my 2 cents.

We can make a lots of speculations (and I'm with you with the "limit the audience + Not about adoption" hypothesis, it's the only valid reason), but at the end of the day, the price will always be the same for us.

Anyway, after 12 pages, I think they understand that the majority of the community here found the price of the Early Access too high ! [yesnod]

Yup, the price is too high, just so people can get in early access. I know it helps the developers, but I still think they should add something to make their fans feel like it's worth it.

If there was a button download now and play today the alpha , but it cost 200 € i hit the download button faster than a thunderbolt and drink a month no grappa, and that is saying something, it may not be fast enough march for me.

I am more than happy to pay 107 € for the Alpha and the CHC and help Frontier a bit [big grin]

Saw another NZ player in here, it was 113 for me, thats cheaper than what I used to pay for a N64 game in the late 90s and early 2000s. 113 dollars isnt that much for a video game, i think some of the ones on steam are still like 80-90 for new games.

After the 3rd dev diary, i didnt really care what it cost

I'm not really sure how $80 for this game + early access can be considered too expensive... Most console games now go for $60+, and you end up playing them for all of a week, beat the game, and never play it again. Games today have very little replay value. Whereas, in my experience with these types of games, you can invest years playing the game and still come back for more. I STILL pull up RCT2 and RCT3 and play them, and RCT2 came out 14 years ago. Talk about value there. $80 for the promise of a game that will give me years of enjoyment with next generation graphics and already comes off as endearing (Characters) and entertaining (Awesome new features)? Consider me sold, no questions asked. [up]

Go for it and don't look back. I like to think I get some kind of value for my purchases these days.

Everyone sees value in different things. I just posted in another thread that I see value in the early access because I get to play the game early, find bugs (which helps the developers make a better game for everyone) and to be able to feed back what I like or dislike about the game while there's still chance for it to be changed. Not everyone will see that value, and that's absolutely fine.

If you want early access.... You pay the extra money.

If you don't want to pay the extra money, you get to play when the game comes out you just have to wait longer.

As for system specs... If you are expecting a next generation simulation game to run on a 2008 laptop.... Sadly it's probably not going to run or at least not run to your expectations. Of course the developers are trying to make the game accessible to as many as possible, some will have to upgrade their aging systems.

Just like I'd you're on a PlayStation 3 and you want to play the new PlayStation games... You'll need a new system.

See, this is where I have a huge problem with Alpha's and Beta's being re-branded as "Early Access/As long as you pay a little extra". Finding bugs and giving feedback has never been a luxury in the gaming industry, people have been paid to do in the past, until recently when Beta's and Alpha's have been used a tool to get people onboard early, at no cost of the developer, yet still benefiting from even more bugs found because higher user base and also as a free adverting tool when people start talking about the game, videos etc.

Lately companies have been charging extra money, for people to help fix and advertise their products. PC have said on Twitter that there will be no No Disclosure agreements too, so basically free reign for people to advertise the game as much as possible.

So think about it, you're paying for the game @ £19.99, plus £30 (which over double the price for the game), so you can do their job and test it, give feedback and advertise it.

I'm sorry, but they should be slammed for this, any other company would. Stop letting companies do this, because then it becomes the norm and it's not right.

Pay for it if you want to. Don't pay for it if you don't want to...

Simple

Angelis, I understand you have paid for early access? Yet you bang on about it daily. Maybe you should request a refund before access starts?
