Alec's best of the forum (and elsewhere) [v2]

Not sure if it's trending worthy but Reddit is in a bit of a tissy about the Fuel Rats minor faction being undermined in their own home system (Fuelum) and under threat from loosing the main station.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...me_save_the_fuel_rats_from_losing_their_home/

Anyone have a traffic report, that'd be something to see? :D

Interesting, Fuelum's not being attacked by the bots showcased in last week's Lave Radio are they?

Edit: OK, apparently not. The following summary pinched from facebook ...

Some of you will be aware that a group of Cmdrs have been conducting a "Social Experiment" in a PG over the last week to kick the Fuel Rats out of their home system of Fuelum. I think, unless there's some kind of miracle in the next 12 hours or so we're likely to be homeless because the damage done in the BGS is too great for us to win the war currently taking place. I stand ready to be proven wrong though.

Then, This appeared on Reddit today - courtesy of the SDC:

"NMD/SDC (Space Force) Condemn Attack on Fuel Rats
Hello all,

Like many of you, today we learned of the cowardly attack on the Fuel Rats home system of Fuelum. I was messaged in-game by one of the perpetrators of this attack who was hoping that we would back them to give prestige to their operation. The operation was done from the safety of solo/PG with no risk on their side of the attack.

Allowing BGS manipulation from solo/PG to affect factions is a monumental problem in this game. It allows players to participate with no risk to themselves and complete cover from their victims figuring out who is doing it. Such cowardly actions shouldn't be praised, they should be condemned and limited to the best of FDev's ability.

The Fuel Rats are a valuable member of the Elite community who only seek to help others who are in need of their services at no cost to them. We are wholly against attacking people that are willing to grind on our behalf. Many of our pilots have used their services at one point or another and they have always responded despite our reputations. We've even had a fuel rat drop in to an active fight to refuel one of us. These guys are the best that the community has to offer.

Space Force denounces such actions completely and will be actively working to assist the Fuel Rats in their fight."

Very noble - or so I thought. That was until the same person who posted this on Reddit started killing Fuel Rats in Fuelum. Be careful out there people and thanks for helping out in the CZ's.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure if it was "worthy" because there's a whole lot of skulduggery going on and honestly I'm kinda wishing it'd have all passed without any fuss now and the rats could have simply re-built the minor faction at a later date..

Oh, I think I have to showcase that don't I?

Now in Trending - help the Fuel Rats CMDRs, you're their only hope!

Trending: 7,500(?) ships come to Fuel Rats aid (but the battle's not over yet) + Jonas Treesong's circumnavigation of Ariel start to get "seriously interesting"!

Added Qohen Leth's excellent visual guide to the FSS frequency spectrograph in a new "Beyond chapter 4" area at the bottom of the "misc' other useful and/or interesting links" section.

Added Nebohtes' brilliant "Modularity E:D" series of videos (showing how our ship internals might be layed out) to the "screenshots and videos and songs" section.

Just a heads up that EDRefCard has been updated to show the new FSS bindings and refreshed with a clean folder containing just FDev's latest default suite of bindings and my own Thrustmaster FCS bindings.

Any users who want anything retrieved from the backup should PM me with the 6-letter code of their bindings.

Nice one sir! Will have to give that another go later. I imagine it must now be spitting out a 50 page thesis and/or wall poster! [haha]

Hehe well if you tell it to show everything on a single diagram the font gets rather small ;)
I have a to-do item to try and make all the boxes a bit bigger but you might be better off splitting the categories between two separate diagrams.
