Alec's best of the forum (and elsewhere) [v2]

Trending: Legitimate request to help from a well meaning community or self entitled moaners getting ideas above their station? I'll let you decide (haven't actually decided myself yet although this may well push me over the edge).

Trending: The-DemonWolf leads a Halloween tour of some spooky galactic locations! (coming sooooon)

And, while I'm on the subject of things to do this month - don't forget we also have the Buur Pit Trip ongoing at the moment (a series of "accessible" exploration trips out of the bubble - one per week for the next 6 weeks - more info over on the Buur Pit Discord) and then there's also @PrimetimeCasual's Speedbowl 3 happening on the weekend of 9th/10th November (which you probably ought to start practicing and/or saving for!).

Yeah, just been talking about that with OA on Lave Radio.

:) I had no idea that there is a radio channel.

As for the update discussion, it's like a flashback from a bad LSD trip. I mean seriously, a blue store button? What's next?

December update.... I am hunting for metals. System Location ALGOL.

Suddenly a scrolling banner crawls from the top right panel to the top left panel every 10 minutes for 60 seconds in my hud with content daily changing, and the text is read by the british " silence of the lambs" voice double of Anthony Hopkins...

P.S. Listening to psycho-cow triggers pics of Billy Conolly, and it's only 11 AM here. LOL

P.P.S. What happens with a lifetime licence if the game is dead before the licence holder is, and can my children inherit the lifetime licence? Can I have a two figure bobble head of Bojo being face punched by the Queen? Did no one hear the rumour of a 3 months universal "downing tools" engineers strike lead by Prof. Palin down the pipe if the patch 2 is bugged? Sooo many questions... LOL

On this subject I just wanted to showcase this flippin' awesome video by Cmdr Eagle131 highlighting the first day of the event - highly recommended viewing!

Stunning|! Do they make these films with the in game camera only?
Yup, I think so. The Buur Pit team of Cmdr Buur and Cmdr Rheeney kinda specialise in 3rd person camera work where he flies the ship and she operates the camera in multi-crew - very effective! Not sure if Eagle131 used a similar technique or did it all himself. Maybe ask in the video comments or over in the Buur Pit Discord server.

Hi MaxG10! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Yes, Alec is correct- The Buur couple indeed work as a team to deliver content to their youtube channel!

I do the same thing, but by myself usually in the free camera. There have been a few video projects I've worked on in the past that involved multicrew camera operators, or additional cmdrs helping me film in their own ships. But for the Pit Trip video, I was flying solo!

Sorry Alex, don't mean to occupy your thread, where do I find the vids of the Burr Team? Eagle131, that looks like pro video work to my eyes. Looked at it for the third time, one thing that I would have wished for was an additional detail in the "Evel Knievel" SRV jump. What I "saw" was the jumper hopping (Like the one in the row) nervously up and down a few times, looking at the line o SRV's, then accelerating, cam-pos 1 on jumper, seen from the line of SRV's, cam-pos 2 from jumper SRV looking towards the line while accelerating, switching c-pos1 and c-pos2 quickly back and forth, and if possible making a fake high speed shot out of it. Phewwww... ok I'll better shut up now. Lovely work and epic soundtrack works.

Frontier should pay you folks for this kind of "advertisement", stuff like that is not done in an hour.

Recently discovered a new Elite: Dangerous podcast called "Loose Screws" (aka "The American Elite Dangerous podcast"). Now on its 7th episode, tune in to hear Ty and Justin chat about the weeks news (and other stuff). Now added to the "youtube channels, podcasts, etc" section.

Trending: Frontier's new "Full Throttle" racing livestream series kicks off this Thursday with the Buckyball Racing Club and a time trial which has already started called "Full Throttle at Pareco".
