[Application] EDJP and EDJPO

Just wanted to mention that this would be a very good thing as those signs are only easy usable on keyboards with an english layout. (I dont even know if ctrl + alt gr + 8 would be recognized as ctrl + [ on german keyboards.)

I've uploaded 2.0.10 to allow these keys to be configured (though note these are not required when you let EDJP automatically set the next destination upon reaching existing waypoint). Also added a config variable to (hopefully) launch the overlay on a different monitor rather than default.

I don't get the boxel surveyor to work. I click 'Boxel Survey', 'go' and 'Save and Start'.
The status window states that the survey has started, but it doesn't do anything after travelling to the next system in that boxel it doesn't do anything.
The .boxelsurvey file stays at this:

{
"Prefix": "Dryo Brai EG-Y g",
"CurrentN2": 1,
"ID64": 13763262,
"Seen": [
0
]
}

The status window shows every system I jump to and every body I scan, but that's it.

Also if I want to close EDJP I get this (running 2.0.11):

I don't get the boxel surveyor to work. I click 'Boxel Survey', 'go' and 'Save and Start'.
The status window states that the survey has started, but it doesn't do anything after travelling to the next system in that boxel it doesn't do anything.
The .boxelsurvey file stays at this:

The status window shows every system I jump to and every body I scan, but that's it.

Also if I want to close EDJP I get this (running 2.0.11):
OK, I've thrown up a speculative fix for the crash - not 100% sure what's causing it as there's plenty of us using it for boxel surveys at the moment and no-one has mentioned this, but hopefully this will fix it.

As for the boxel survey, I know it's obvious but make sure you're targetting what EDJP thinks is the next system - you can copy it from main window with the + button. If you were, say, visiting the boxel in a random order, it would still remember what you've visited but won't update target system until you visit the expected one (or manually force EDJP to expect next system with CTRL+] or whatever you configured it to be).

Also worth trying to stop boxel survey, then re-open it (same boxel file).

If still nothing, PM me the log file and the boxel file too and I'll see if anything sticks out. And thanks for the report.

I'm about 200 jumps away from the sector I left when I went to get my genetic suit, I'll try the survey again when I'm there.
The other error seems to be gone.

Thank you.

The boxel surveyor now seems to work as intented. I guess that other error might have crashed some processes in the background that made the surveyor stop working.
Thank you again for fixing that.

@MattG Hi Matt, I want to export the optimized route as a list (csv or txt) so I can use it in my spreadsheet or in eddiscovery. Is there a way to do so?
There's not at the moment, but I'll think about adding it for the next release. In the meantime you could try grabbing them from the JSON directly, but it's probably not the easiest task...

Since I'm not quite sure where else to post it, I'm going to note it in here... I am finding that, for some reason, after working quite nicely to keep track of my exploration data, it quit after I had to hard-reboot my machine due to a problem with the USB ports all deciding that they didn't exist.

It's now consistently reporting 0 scan data value. Any thoughts on how I can fix that?

OK, if you look under the folder you have EDJP installed there will be a DATA folder. Under that will be a folder based on your commander ID - e.g. F000000. You can try a couple of things - make sure EDJP is closed either way. In that commander folder will be a file called exploration_data.dat - if you delete or rename that, it should be recreated at 0, and then should populate correctly. Alternatively, you could rename the entire commander folder (F000000.old, or whatever), and you could remove journals.json from the DATA folder. Probably seenlast.json too. Then re-run EDJP and it will read all your journals again and recreate all the necessary files.

I already had an exploration_data.old file in the folder, so I tried renaming the whole folder and the lastlog/seen logs to resolve. That seems to have solved the problem.

Route Plotting
It can help you create and follow routes by copying your next waypoint into the clipboard upon arrival to the current waypoint. It can also optimize a set of waypoints to the most efficient visiting order. It can also read neutron routes directly from Spansh.
Used this Sunday to go from Colonia to the Bubble, made it so much easier than using Spansh plotter, gal map and control v job done it saved so much time, set to 80% efficiency and 73ly was scary close to running out of fuel a couple of times getting carried away not watching my levels, great tool to use and simplify the trip.
Thanks

Just a note to say I've put the first 'release' version (2.1.0) available for download here.
The last beta (2.0.22) was pretty solid and is in a good place so it finally deserves a proper release.
I've neglected to post updates in this thread - a fair amount has changed in the last 10+ updates. One thing that is still lacking is documentation - a basic guide to functionality is on my TODO list, but no promises when.

As always, please let me know of any problems either here or on our squadron discord.

Thanks for this program, I do like the FSS overlay, very nice.
I'm using a resolution that makes 5760 x 1080, any chance I can re-position the pop ups from the left and right sides, to something a little before 1920 and a little after 3841 on the right side. thinking so they appear on the right side of the left screen, and left side of the right screen, but not in the middle one. Just so they are not too far off my field of view.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it should be possible to make an override, I'll have a think about how to implement.

OK, I've put a new beta up - be sure to grab the beta, not the release version.

The ability to alter the popup positions isn't exposed in interface, so it's a bit of notepadding I'm afraid. Run new EDJP, hit Config, then Save, then close EDJP - this'll add the new entries to config. Browse to your EDJP location in Explorer and then in the DATA folder you'll have a file config.json - open that in notepad (or your favourite text editor) and you'll see keys for IndentLeftPopup and IndentRightPopup. If you explicitly change these from null, that's where the popups will be placed. For left, the coordinate specified will be the left side of popup, and for the right it'll be right side of popup. With that in mind, you might actually want to swap them over - so the right popups appear on the right side of left screen and left popups appear on left side of right screen.

Let me know if there's any problems.

Thanks I will give it a go, BTW I'll be late with responses as I start RLW for 4 day shifts tomorrow

So I've set the two values
"IndentLeftPopup": 3800,
"IndentRightPopup": 1000,

The system name and value appears to have moved, so I'm moving it to 3850 to see if it moves off the edge of the 2nd screen onto the third.
The 'Moved to a required distance' window for Bio scans, hasn't moved at all, still on the far right, might be controlled by another set of values.
Good job so far, will update as soon as I can.

Hey, I just found this program out, it's very cool! I'm having a problem with the FSS overlay though. My monitor is 1920x1200, so the overlay isn't really in the right area.

I was hoping I'd be able to scale/move the overlay around a bit to have it fit properly, but after literal minutes of trying, I gave up and started this reply :p.

Overlay off (idk if this is useful or not, but I figured I've got imgur open already): Source: https://imgur.com/EkqK8dx

Hmm, not seen that before. There's logic to scale the overlay based on screen size but I guess no-one has tried it with a 16:10 resolution until now. I will see if I can work out how the game scales to UI in that situation, and try do do the same for FSS.

Please grab the 2.1.3 beta from here and give it a try (note, it's the small link below the button - the button is the older release version).

Also, if others could also try 2.1.3 and let me know if I've somehow now broken overlay positioning, that'd be great.
