[Application] EDJP and EDJPO

Guess he wants something like this but in app with the boxel surveyor alerting you if you try to start a survey in a ticked boxel?

Yes, I'm already keeping track of this in a copy of that spreadsheet, just thought it would be cool to also visualize which boxels I've already explored, within the Boxel Explorer section of the app

How easy would it be, do you think, to add an exobiology scan value checker like we have the exploration value checker?
I keep mulling this over. Can't decide whether to add to EDJP, or have a new plugin for ObsCore that'd track both Exobiology and Exploration outstanding data. Or maybe shoehorn it into BioInsights. I also need to fix the checker in EDJP - current one was only ever meant to be a stop gap until I wrote one that showed a full breakdown, just haven't got to it yet.

Well, for what it's worth I'm finding the BioInsights plugin invaluable at the moment, I know it doesn't predict everything but it's very handy. I think something that tracked both would be useful since they go hand in hand pretty much.

I'm guessing the current value checker in EDJP doesn't include bonus payouts?

Which bonus payouts? It should be predicting almost everything. It doesn't help that the "bonus" screen in UC is pretty rubbish and not helpful, and differs between stations and FCs. But the overall figure added to your balance should be close - with 2 exceptions. Firstly, if you don't scan every body in a system it'll assume the rest are ice balls of low value and add 500 (+ any FD bonus) for each unscanned body - but if you're leaving behind a bunch of terraformable HMCs, that'll skew things. Secondly, terraforming bonuses are still not fully understood. I keep revisiting it and have theories - but for now, they have the potential to be inaccurate. You can alter this in Config - in Overlay section you can set how much bonus the different terraformables should get. Older versions have 90% for HMC, 70% for WW - because that broadly matched my data, but I think newer ones will set to 100%. Oh, and we assume selling to a station, not a carrier - take off 25% if you're uysing carriers.

If there are other bonuses you think I might be missing, I can check - but to my knowledge it should be fairly accurate.

Yes, I mean the "bonus" that UC lists, efficiency bonuses and first discovery bonuses (which wasn't certain about either). Ok fair enough.

You forgot to mention bubble bodies.

And now I'm off to a corner crying because I remembered those...

Hi, MattG! Is there a complete documentation on EDJP? I am using it recently and I am lacking information.
Is it possible to do an automatic system search (not EDSM) in a nearby environment? As for example done in https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/a-script-assistant-for-explorers.588377/post-9883600

Sadly, there isn't really any documentation for EDJP. It's on my to-do list, but has been for at least a couple of years.

What do you mean by "automatic system search"? If you mean for surveying a boxel, then yes it can assist you with that. There are options within a boxel survey to skip systems already in EDSM, or to only skip systems complete in EDSM etc.

Edit: I think you're on what was the ATEG discord (now IEA). Feel free to ping me over there if you've specific questions.

When I first started playing this game I went off on a treck to knowhere around 10kly all told, I have the entire route as a text file first system to last, this is names only no coords, how do I create a usable route to to follow using EDJP, im pretty sure I have done this in the past but cant for the life of me work out how to do it today.
TIA

If the systems are already in the order you want, just copy them to clipboard then hit Make Route and select the Clipboard option. Then hit Follow Route and open the file you just created.

If you want to follow them in a (mostly) efficient way, do the same as above but select the options to “Look up coordinates on EDSM”, and “estimate coordinates”. Let it do it’s thing then hit Optimise Route, select start system (and end system if that matters), and let it optimise the route. Then as above, hit Follow Route and open your route.

Genius, thank you very much!

Hello. i have used edsm to create a route from colonia to baegle point. this is 51 systems of 16 jumps each. I have saved the systems in a txt file under each other.

1
2
3
4...

When i want to read the route with edjp (from clipboard), there is always an error. How do the systems have to be saved in the file? I have read the info in edjp (click on the "?") but somehow it does not work.

thanks in advance.

EDJP can't actually read from a text file. Open the file in notepad and make sure it just looks like this:

Code:
101 Tauri
Sol
Shinrarta Dezhra
HIP 22460

In notepad, hit Edit -> Select All and then Edit -> Copy. That puts the systems on the clipboard.

In EDJP go to Make Route, select Import from Clipboard and then hit Process. That should be enough to create the route.
