You don't have to watch the thread if you don't want to. We just want to voice our opinions on the pack and hopes the future. Not everyone likes every pack and that's understandable. 8f you really like it then talk about that in a different thread.

The negativity about the Arid pack is ruining, literally ruining ALL of the fun, that other people have with it.

But personally I find vanilla boring.

My opinions on the pack are still pretty much unchanged from what they were at announcement - it’s got some great animals I really love, but the way it was put together still makes it the most disappointing pack for me so far, especially as a desert enjoyer (it’s definitely not my least favourite pack though). An arid pack should have been about exploring the diversity of animals found in deserts around the world, not about exploring the diversity of African dryland ungulates.
Still, I love the dromedary, porcupine and addax, so I’m excited to use them in a lot of future builds!

Sorry for snipping this so short, but all this is so much my opinion. I realize I've long been on the "no more african antelope" train, heck I may be the train engineer....but I see more and more people jumping on it after this pack. IMO and in their opinions, we really do not need a single other African Antelope. We have more than enough. Feel free to feel different, but it's a valid opinion, since it's just that..and opinion. I think this is my biggest gripe about the pack as well...I could overlook the Addax and it is visually unique, but that second antelope inclusion was just too much for some of us.
I do realize that the assumed tremendous effort they put into the Porcupine had to be offset somewhat, but could they not have picked something else with less doubling up on the packs? The Secretary Bird and Baboon seem to be the frontrunners for "should've beens" in this pack, but it wouldn't have had to be them specifically. Just anything else really.
And the part in bold? highlights the ridiculousness of having so many African Antelopes versus other mammal families, or even more extreme...the entirety of the class of Aves.
But...it is what it is..the "Drama" Gazelle is in the game...that can't be changed. If we've already gotten the zookeeper achievement (if you care about steam achievements at all), we can just ignore it and not use it if you don't like it. Which I definitely intend to do.
Here's me wondering at this stage, is there actually anyone else who is happy with the addition of the dama gazelle? Are gazelles that unpopular in the general planet zoo playerbase to direct most of the 'should have been' towards it instead of any other animal
The arid pack is mediocre, at best. Half of the animal roster is very good, i don't have any complains about the Dromedary, addax and Somali Wild ass, the porcupine could be a great animal if it stop flickering, all the rest is bad.
It was on my radar, and I like it. As I've said before, I might have loved more it in another pack. They were on my radar as an interesting oddball, and they look nice. However, I also understand and empathize with the many people who felt the pack had too many similar animals. It kind of stings when an antelope that was not even mid-requested is put over other options in a pack with so many African ungulates for a game already nearly saturated with them. I've noticed a few people happy about it. I am one of them, too, even if there were other things I might have preferred. Those could probably come later. I am not a doomer, and I could see them adding 100+ animals if they want to.
It’s alright for me, it’s just a bit disappointing in my eyes. There were so many better choices as a clone animal, even if it had to be an ungulate they still could’ve picked a better one. Grevys Zebra,

Grevys Zebra*, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Arabian Oryx, etc. The only African ungulate I want now is the Aoudad or better known as the Barbary Sheep. Plus I don’t understand why they chose a gazelle, of all species, the 2 base gazelles we had are already looked over, and even though this one looks far better, it still doesn’t change that the word “gazelle” doesn’t excite a lot of people as soon as they read the name.
It's not a big want for me at all but this would've been the perfect pack for the nil crocodile. Since their doing easy to make animals anyway (due to porcupine) this one would've been easy and could've replaced the dama to give a bit more diversity to the choices.
It's the same as if they added the Somali wild ass and onager I the same pack. Both the dama and the addax are dragged down by the inclusion of the other in the same pack. The dama just gets picked on more cause it's less visually appealing (to most people).
If you don’t want to hear negative opinions don’t read a thread specifically asking what people think of the pack.
And I wanted Masai giraffe. Giraffes are also ungulates.
Me. It feels really fresh since no other zoo game ever had it.
Addax in comparison stinks. Its entire popularity comes from being ZT2 leftover.

Instead of being happy that we still get support it’s honestly better to complain that you are not happy with the pack.
If you don’t like it just don’t buy it. It’s just simple as that.
Or, better yet, but it to support the game but provide constructive feedback so that the next pack is better!
