Patch Notes Update Beta 2.06 incoming

Seems a LOT quicker to connect in open play now.

BTW what does "- Prevent ambient NPCs spawning before player is ready" mean? :D

I'm still seeing random NPCs jumping away instantly (from inside the station) after I jump to a station. This means the whole area is empty for a good 30 seconds before more NPCs seem to appear.

Also there is still an issue where shadows are missing or very light unless you go to galaxy map, then system map. Then back to cockpit.

My initial 2.06 feedback:
Intel 520 SSD, i7 3.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, 6950 video card, catalyst 14.9, win7, 30 active processes.

-Visual hitching while the ship spins, entering solo mode
-GPU load at 95% at 1680x1050 or higher resolutions, with all graphics settings off or at their minimum, whenever near or in a station. Even worse when using the galaxy map. The only way I can play without my GPU trying to melt is at 1400x900 or lower resolution.
-60fps everywhere except the galaxy map, where, if the visual perspective tilt shows the entirety of the grid (pitch down to 0) FPS is locked at 30 and GPU load is 100%.
-Visual hitching while inside the hanger at the spaceport, notable in the "mist/fog/smoke" generation.
-Universal Cartographics still takes quite a long time to respond, initially, and during sales.
-Universal Cartographics option "sell all date" does not work. Doesn't do anything when selected.
-When entering Eranin (unlike any other system), the Navigation menu focus is always at the bottom of the list, not the top, requiring a scroll all the way to the top, every time. Again, this is only of note because it's unlike any other system.
-Very bad hitching (bad pauses >1second) on approach while in FSD from hyperspace ingress -> station.

Probably a dumb question but are patch notes published anywhere? would be nice to keep track.

Targeting seems thoroughly borked in new patch though, fyi.

Well I've already got two frags with the new patch so I disagree  What about the rank malarkey? Is everyone still stuck on harmless? if not how many kills do you need to get to mostly harmless?

As I ticketed on the 9th (ticket id 32007), selling exploration data is still broken. I'm getting about 1/100th the credits I used to get before 2.05. Below screenshot has two scans of 38 and 14 objects respectively, from previously unvisited systems by me. During the first week of B2 these would net 20-40k credits.

That's the market working.
Right at the beginning I went right to the end of the Sausage and scanned around quite a bit. Made a lot of money.
Now people have been further out, that scarce data is no longer scarce. So the prices are lower.
Market forces dude.

Also..

The heat sink launcher claims to only have 3 ammo slots, but it gets refilled to 4, and does in fact launch four. It does 3/3 first, then switches to 1/1, then finally is empty.

When you buy it, initially, it only has 3, then you refill it, it has four, and from that point forward always will have four as a max capacity.

Doesn't really make a lot of sense, though? :S

As well, although this may just be me, I've never seen an upgrade to the heat sink launcher, nor the ability to mount more than one.. Not sure if that's intentional or not.

Perhaps FD lowered the amount received in general or you are now visiting systems that have been visited by another Player and are only getting data refresh payouts? It aint necessarily broken. Need virgin systems to explore to test.

It changed overnight, from getting regular 10-20k scans just while traveling to getting as little as 26cr once. It's exactly the same for the WRE* systems that you couldn't even visit until last patch. "People" didn't just magically scan every system in the pill thousands of times in one night.

Perhaps, but there was no mention of it that I've seen. Maybe it's my save that got corrupted somehow. Could someone go scan either of the systems in my screenshot with an advanced scanner and see what they get for the data?

Graphics shader bug on my GTX 560ti is still there. It's been looking like this since Beta 2.0, I thought it was fixed and ready to roll into an update?

Sure would like to see what these new outposts are supposed to look like with correct lighting, instead of this:

I never every got high priced scans. 1500Cr is the most I've ever got. Count yourself lucky. I've managed to scrape ~20KCr now after scanning half the galaxy it seems.

More than likely its to fix the issue where when you are logging into the game where you are docked, the game sits on the sidewinder logo because its trying to connect to all the other clients around the station which sometimes has bugs causing endless loading.

By starting in your own island, you essentially start the game alone at your station, once you are logged in and sat in your station, the client will start making connections to other players and introduce them into your game world.

Sounds like a sensible approach for now.

Or because of the issue of logging in on a docking platform that another player has been assigned to land at.

I remain having this issue, I had hoped this upgrade might have addressed it.

I have tried resolving it on PC side but everything is fine outside of Elite Dangerous Client. It's only when in game that the CPU hits 100% all 6 cores are in full swing and your forced to stutter your way to your destination.

Things are compounded (100 fold) when you move from windowed mode to desktop mouse moves a few mils freezes then shoots across screen and you waste 3 mins trying to get back to windowed mode game screen just to get things to work again.

Everything was fine prior to Beta 2.00/2.06 so what broke?

To rub salt into wound 2 server crashes in 2.06 in 15 mins ...

Weirdly enough I had this back in the earlier 2.0x patches - caused my PC to BSoD once - after that never had the problem again.

You probably scanned the individual planets though right? There's another bug that actually reduced the credits you get if you do that... :( Try doing just a Discovery scan and selling that before doing anything else.
