Patch Notes Update Beta 2.2 - Update 5

OK, I'll admit I'm stumped as to what this black bar which has cursed people's lives is. Can anyone help out with a screenshot??

(genuinely curious, and not having a dig as I suspect I'll find it irritating too, once I've noticed it...)

Gah! - Now I have noticed it, but still a few weeks till 2.2 goes live...
 
So far this is a very impressive update.

Can't help but feel that this is the one that should have come BEFORE 2.1

In any event, well done so far FD

Sure, there will be some rough edges here and there, but so far module storage/transfer and galaxy map are truly dramatic improvements.

When you ignore the 'mixed response' to actual engineers, I think both 2.1 and 2.2 have been massive improvements according to pretty much everyone. Maybe they are taking a bit more time, maybe there are other reasons, but the S2 updates are much more awesome than the S1 ones. And to think 2.1 and 2.2 cost about $7 each, or $5 on a sale, its all very, very impressive. Bring on the rest!
 
Hi, I have a question...

Right now I can only take one mission per cabin in the ship. Is this intended or is it a bug? I mean, in an economy cabin that fits 8, I can't take say, 3 missions with 2 passengers each. It only allows me to take 1 mission and then kinda blocks the cabin.

Just checking, I have thought of cabins like cargo racks mechanics: you got 8 seats, you can fill them all up with different missions.

Was it a VIP? They hog the cabin.....always have done :p.
 
Will there be a crew management screen/tab in our ships or will it only be available trough stations?
For the moment i can't reassign a crew member when he/she is inactive.:cool:

+1 yeah, thats a bit strange at the moment, since the crew not assigned doesnt actually reside in your ship and is being teleported from station to station. It would be more logical to have them all aboard, even unassigned. ;)
 
Hmm, I'm getting an error "Failed to read from response server" when trying to download the newest beta. I got this error before, but selecting Alternate Download Location seemed to fixed it. Now, whether it's checked or unchecked, it still says "failed to read from response server". Anyone have any ideas?
 
Downloaded beta ok, but started seeing a comms error when trying to accept a passenger contract.

Like the idea of a passenger cab in the Courier, but wasn't able to actually use it!
 
AI interdictions, only apply the system's security modifier when considering whether we are too strong to interdict the target, not too weak

Does this mean that NPC interdictions in high security systems will tend to be easier enemies than what one can encounter in anarchy?
 
Isn't a large part of knowing the destination's star class, so that we can abort if we won't be able to scoop? Isn't that a dangerous situation?

You can abort any FSD countdown, just as before.

Frontier are simply refraining from shoving a "Press <keyboard button> to abort" message down our throat for every single jump we ever make from now on. :)

That message now only appears if we are about to jump into a dangerous ANARCHY system. Last time I checked, populated anarchy systems had hostile interdiction rates 10x those of high security systems.

So not a bad idea at all. Anything that raises the profile of "security level" as a gameplay mechanic for self-managed difficulty level is alright by me!
