I hope these also help resolve some of the constant disconnects I get from the game.. I've not seen any replies on my tickets. I've included netlogs as attachments.
Basically, there seems to be disconnections going on, based on the game's inability to update the mission status. So when I try to abandon a mission, f.ex. I get instant disconnect from server.
It's not even a performance issue for me.. it's the ability to actually go in and test the game without getting insta-booted. I've reset my player profile 4 times now.. and the disconnection bug returns again and again as soon as I start taking missions, and start traveling from a to b. This is new for Beta 3 btw. Also, my yaw buttons stop working when I jump to a new system.. or when exiting or entering supercruise.

Going in to test now...

This update should help with networking performance. Other fixes are in progress for other elements such as planets, although these will be in the next big release rather than an update.

He didn't say "Gamma", which makes this sound like there is mayhaps a Beta 4 on the way? ;)

Also, glad to see work on the networking issues making it's way public, guess I'll have to see if it fixes my woes and gets Elite playable again for me. Yay!
 
I just got back from holiday so haven't played beta 3 yet. Anyway updated the launcher earlier and updated to 3.03. Just saw this thread and trying to get 3.04 but it is saying my game is up to date.

I suspect its upgraded you to 3.04 then, but the launcher still says 3.03 - that is what is happening on mine and I have just gone from 3.03 to 3.04

Lag caused by busy instances seems to be resolved for me, based on an hour's play just now. No disconnects or other issues.

Only have the stuttering beside planets and suns right now, will try the tweak.
 
still got that annoying ai coms where if you damage your canopy to a critical level and repair it at a station it still informs you that your canopy is damaged - even when it's not
 
Wow. All I can say.

Performance in Solo is noticeably improved. About 5 FPS better in stations, less lag all around, less stuttering in hyperspace.

But Open Play? OMG. Performance is suddenly on par with Solo, as opposed to being about half. I was getting single-digit FPS in stations before, now it hovers around 50. Way, way, way less lag/stuttering in SC and hyperspace. Even in Eranin with players everywhere I'm not get any crazy rubberbanding or hangs any more. Honestly hard to believe such a small patch made such an enormous difference. Open play has never worked anywhere near as well for me as it is right now. Honestly the only difference between solo and open is the godawful waiting for supercruise exit still.

I have noticed a couple small bug I'll be ticketing, (getting double fines, message box being spammed about landing gears) but nothing serious thus far.
 
Still disconnecting on about half my hyperspace jumps in Open Play.

Hey mate. :) Make sure you have the following added to your AppConfig.XML (open in notepad)

The lines in bold should be added as shown. Whenever you get a disconnect (like I've gotten a ton of).. there is a log created in your "logs" directory.

Then, create a new ticket on Support site.. and attach your network log which shows the disconnect fail. It seems to be related to mission update failure.

Well, I did just get the "mystery fine for no reason" bug which I've never had before. Also: I just bought a Hauler at Chu hub. After my ship changed, instead of being in the hangar, I was up at the top of the dock still, but at the wrong pad. All the sounds were muffled as if I was in the dock. When I tried to enter the outfitting screen, the game froze. When I tried to exit, for a split second I was out in space. I have a bad feeling I'm going to log back in to find my shiny new hauler trapped in a wall....

I am seeing random FPS drops, but nowhere near as severe as I used to, and if I wasn't staring at the FPS counter I probably wouldn't even notice most of them. I finally feel like network performance is moving in the right direction again.
 
Game stopped working after 3.0.4. Basically in when I load the game the default menu in Hangar is inactive, and I am unable to launch ship, or visit any other menus like "services".
 
Solo play here.

Stutter much better, still there. It'll take more than server-side improvement to be corrected.

Empty Bulletin Boards: still there on the same stations since B3.0. Nothing different on this front, even if FD Support deems it server-side.

Game stopped working after 3.0.4. Basically in when I load the game the default menu in Hangar is inactive, and I am unable to launch ship, or visit any other menus like "services".

Painful as it is, you may need to clear your save. I have had problems like that several times along the Beta trail. When all else fails a clear will usually get you back in the game. :(

I've been getting the empty BB problem since B2. I can't believe they haven't figured that one out yet.

By the way, one other thing. It could be that he Communications menu is active. When the comms menu is active the Flight deck is not active because the Comm menu takes focus so you can type your text. !?!? Close the comm menu ad the flight deck will become active again.:)

Question: The Multiplayer experience was bad because of the "action bubble" effects. I could not find my wing m8 in open play. But in group play I found him and its way better handling. Is that handling better with the netcode compression etc ?

Suggestion: "Action bubble" tearing and grouping. So you can form up a group or wing with you m8. Is there any plan to implement such feature ?

Group play tries to put you on the same servers so you are more likely to be in the same island.

Soo... Looking at the change log I just have to ask.
Now that your network coders are all burned out will you be hiring new ones? :)
