Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

Interesting points about movement around the planet. The question I want to ask (that can't be answered yet) is, is that locked behind the code for the game, or will modders be able to leverage the API to be able to do the point-around-the-player and unlock mini tiles as they move such that seamless transition is possible?

I kind of like that you can fast travel to other locations without the need of the ship between on-foot locations (in different systems?) mainly because I am not a casual gamer and the fact that sometimes I just want to "get stuff done". On the other hand I want to be able to use the ship when needed.

The impression I get at the moment - unfounded - is that flight around a system free-fly will not be possible - i.e. fly from one planet/moon to the next will not be like in ED or SC.

All will be revealed soon, either way.

Well it is his job and source of income. No content, no money, so I really don't see a problem.
And that for less informed (neo-) gamers like myself, it's how I find out about things. I wasn't aware of the creation engine thing to be able to create planets or whatever so OA's last video was good for me to watch.

With content producers is very much the case of one man's poison is another man's cheeseboard.

Personally I try to bear all of them. For me I always watch OA, Burr, Yamiks and a few others for ED content because they each have something to say in broadly different ways. More information = more data to soak up! Especially when I don't get time to play so it's a great way to find out what's going on...

This video shows it takes 10 minutes of sprinting in 1 direction to reach the boundary of the map. If you walk then it's quite far though. I hope mods can increase the map size.

This didnt aged well
I'm going to explore as much as I can just the way I described. Explore an area and move on. I won't be running in a straight line for 40 minutes. I've played enough Bethesda games to know there will plenty to keep me entertained. If you don't mind me saying, you seem to have a negative attitude to this game and I'm wondering why.

Planetary exploration is not cubicle exploration :/
Granted, you cant get far with no atmo/planetary flight and no vehicles, but still

Any leaks on ship flight? Or is that cockpit just for screenshots?

And to answer your question, because of this - at this point i dont even know if they played their game and what means they give to Open World

You still going to buy it?

Fair enough.
Some folks just won't ever get over the fact that Starfield is an out and out RPG and isn't pretending to be a space sim. It's like comparing the Witcher 3 with Baldur's gate 3...not even the same genre 🤷‍♂️

Pete Hines certainly isn't helping, I've seen a few Q&A sessions with him where he simply doesn't know answers to simple questions. I know he's head of marketing and not involved with the game design...but still :censored:
