Big Three (Conda, Cutter, Corvette) combat builds

Hey guy.

I recently got back into Elite Dangerous and started grinding ranks with the empire and Federation to get the Cutter and the Corvette. I currently already have the Conda and I use it for mining (low tmep diamonds ftw). As I'm getting closer and closer to buying the Cutter and Corvette, I'm wondering if any of you can help me with ship outfitting for combat? Preferably PVE if possible. I tried looking on google and all the coriolis links I found are outdated and i can't see the page so I'm really lost. So can anyone guide me through this? Also, if possible, can we include multi-crew in the builds? My friends want to pilot some fighters lol.

Any help would be great;y appreciated!

Thanks you!

the dastardly dog's fishermens beginers guide to low risk bounty hunting PVE

Thanks for the reply and I already knew abot this lol. but my post isn't about ''how to kill bounties'' but more of a ''Imperial Cutter/Federation Corvette combat build''

yea it all down to play style gimbled for easy target requisition or fixed requiring more skill but better damage at range
an basically don't waste ballistics on shield's

Yea I like gimballed. I run pulse and burst lazers for gimballed and fixed multicannons

I was able to see your build and it looks pretty solid. Thanks!

I can chain CZ for hours if i really want to.
And i used the same build to kill 500 PP ships every week to get Rank5 with power play. I did it for several weeks - totally not worth it if you are not actually involved in PP and you do it for the 50,000,000 credits salary

For bounty farming or ranking-up, the Corvette is best, and whichever ship you choose, use all lasers to save having to keep running back for ammo. the exact load-out depends on how much engineering you can do. They're all pretty useless without engineered thrusters. An unengineered FDL or Vulture would work probably better than an unengineered Corvette. Whatever you get, the desirable characteristics for RES farming are speed, long range sensors and long-range weapons. Here's what I use for bounty and material farming, CZs, etc. It's virtually invincible. For other types of combat, you need to tune your ship accordingly.

Thank you for all your replies! But I noticed that theres a majority of corvette builds. Any Cutter builds?

Thanks!

Basically the same as the Corvettes. But you'd want all laser turrets (Cutter cannot turn as fast as a Vette), 1 corosive gimbaled MC - i always preffer to use the Huge slot for the MC, overcharged with corrosive - resynth is cheap for a single MC. Rest Bi-weaves, SCB as backup, hrp/mrp.

The problem with the Cutter is that it drifts like a Bus in an Ice ring. Still it has an impressive boost and you can use it to ram and easily kills enemy ships
While a Cutter is decent at combat, its strengths are cargo hauling and laser mining.
A Vette is better at PVE combat because it can maneuver as a medium (engineered ofc)
A Conda is almost as good as the Corvette and you can move all the internals from it to the Vette.

I'll look it up, thanks!

I personally just rebuilt my Corvette as an armoured mining ship (with two Huge Beam Lasers in case any NPCs start something ...) as I was finding my Krait and Mamba to be more fun in HAZRES hunting situations.

That said - for PvE HAZRES sessions - I was running the following weapons on my ‘vette:

1x Huge Beam Laser (Efficient / Thermal Vent)
1x Huge Multi-Cannon (Overcharged / AutoLoader)
2x Medium Multi-Cannon (Overcharged / AutoLoader)
3x Small Rail Gun (Long Range / Plasma Slug)

The Huge Beam and MC do most of the heavy lifting - you could probably go Corrosive on one of the mediums for a bit more DPS - and the Rails are useful when someone tries to flee cause, let’s face it, you ain’t catching ‘em ... obviously one of those Rails is sitting on a Large HP so could go up a size but then they don’t all fire at the same time.

Combined with C7 BiWeaves shields (with Guardian and standard boosters) and some hull/module reinforcement I could basically sit there for as long as I wanted unless I did something stupid like start on a wing of three Elite FAS and then I’d generally be able to take down 2 but have very little shields left and, well, I’m allergic to hull damage. :)

Kind of a noob question but i see all of your builds use experimental effects. Google isnt helping so i was wondering how does one get an experimental effect and how do you apply it?
