Big wishlist of animals that need to be in Planet Zoo + DLC/Update Ideas

Just a little collection of animals I would absolutely LOVE to see in the game and some features that are missing right now.

Animals that need to be added to the game
  • Leopard (since the game is mostly African themed it NEEDS a leopard)
  • Cougar (could also be in Arctic DLC)
  • Moose (could also be in Arctic DLC)
  • Amur leopard
  • Deer
  • Red Fox
  • Raccoon
  • Sea otter
  • Armadillo
  • Capybara
  • Meerkat
  • Seal
  • Any aquatic animal from the DLC list below as "starters"
  • 2-4 birds from the DLC list below as "starters"
  • Butterflies for exhibits maybe
  • Desert mice for exhibits maybe
  • Bunnies, goats and sheep for petting zoos maybe (even greater if guests can really interact with these animals)
  • Przewalski horse
  • Porcupine maybe
  • White Lions
  • Bat eared fox
  • Coyote/jackal
  • Llama
  • Alpaca
  • Fennec fox
  • Animals for exhibits: butterflies, King Cobra, black mamba, frill-necked lizard, chameleon, gecko, armadillo lizard
Aquatic/marine animals DLC

Maybe make something like a dive station or underwater tunnel so people can see the aquatic animals up close. Also a new type of enclosure for aquariums that can be completely filled with water and little aquarium exhibits would be great.

+1 to otters and meercats, plus I'd love to see penguins in this game!

With regards to cetacea (whales/dolphins/orcas) I think there's such a controversy around their captivity that I would be surprised if they made it into the game, given the pro-conservation status. I for one would feel more morally conflicted about stocking and exhibiting them, that's for sure.

I would never support keeping cetacea in captivity irl but I loved creating huge marine parks in other games and to me the point of video games is to do things you can't do irl. This is why I included them in the list since I really wish to play around with these types of parks and I think many people would love that too but I see your point given the fact that Planet Zoo is more realistic than any previous zoo games. Still hoping though :)

It's litteraly a game. Of course there is issues in real life but you could argue all animals. And there are not many games for aquatic animals, and I never played Zoo tycoon.

this issue has been discussed hundreds of times before. I have hundreds of answers about this.
I think it is very unfair about it. especially in this game I don't understand why people are biased about killer whales. I have read many articles about elephants recently. The same situation as killer whales. recently, zoos do not take good care of elephants and they do not show due diligence, zoos said they would no longer buy elephants. but elephants exist in this game and nobody objected. including me. because they are great and they deserve to be in this game. but in fact the situation in killer whales also applies to elephants.

I agree with you on this. Remember the giant whales in Zoo Tycoon 1! I was officially in love, they were great. :)

This has been discussed to death, but I'm not really into the idea of having larger marine mammals in the game. But I think having the ability to add fully or mostly aquatic exhibits could add an element of realism to the game. Imagine a jungle exhibit with a few species of monkeys, birds... And between those exhibits, built into the walls are a variety of vivariums showing off fish and turtle species? That would be so much fun!

All of this! An aviary system (with a variety of "net" sets and roofs) would be fantastic! IMHO, this could be usable for monkey species and small mammals that climb as well.

Personally, though, I feel like bats (unless it were flying foxes) might be better suited for exhibits...

I love this, but I think "white tiger" is already covered with the variations (maybe it could be "siberian"?) and I don't think the amur leopard is arctic...

I changed some aspects of the list. Also the ability to put fish swarms into ponds, e.g. koi fish, would add so much detail to the game imo. No AI or anything, just some little fishies swimming around.
