Perhaps they are despertley trying to get Odyssey into a state where it can run on consoles. Perhaps that is critical now more than ever becuase they have comitted to shareholders to a console release in this finanial year and theres only a few weeks left.

Just my wild guesses, but it lines up with the very limited view we have from the outside.
Given the overall market volatility at the moment, if they were planning to ditch consoles now wouldn't be the worst time to announce it.

That's not it. Pretty much all streams from the current CM team were made while working from home. Posting on a forum also works from home.

Well, if you got Covid but you have no symptoms, then i agree... (*)
But if you got Covid and have mild symptomps like fever, cough and the general bad state that one get while having a Flu/cold/covid - then they'll definitely not be able to Stream anything.

(my post was not related to working from home, but to a high number of cases of covid within the same company and what happens when your front-people are getting sick and not able to run the streams)

Perhaps thats the decision which is being wrangled over - i.e. are we now ready to admit that previously announced last gen console released are not achievable?

Sadly, that commitment has not been given in any of the financial statements for this year, nor projections for next. We dunno...
But havent frontier already committed to shareholders that in this current financial year, console sales of Odyssey will indeed happen? So if that release does not happen by May, that would be an additonal negative pressure on the share price?

I`m not suggesting I have all the answers, I`m simply interested to explore what the problem is

From the reading of their interim reports there was no assurance - If you wish to spend an enthralling half-hour or so perusing their reports (in case I missed it, too!) they are available on the Frontier website in .pdf format. They are not particularly exciting reading though.

It somewhat complicates the issue being that the new/current gen is backwards compatible (would Elite get a performance boost from this anyway?), and that this gen has yet to really get going (at least from where I look) thus the life of the previous gen is being artificially extended. With those caveats being said, the discussion would be similar to that of 'shall we release x game on 3DS now that the Switch is out?" It doesn't really make too much sense.

I'm also sure that an overwhelming part of the console users are looking to upgrade to the new gen, if they haven't already, and one has to wonder if any game studio would be ready to sink a large amount of development time & cost into supporting a last gen title (cash cow titles excluded)? I feel like that it would be more difficult to sell the idea of not dropping the console ports to the financial guys, being that the bottom line is their main priority rather than the feels of console users. Though of course, the profit expectations from that have a part to play, but that was last year and one also wonders if that ship has sailed, FDev have already written that revenue off it seems.

I love that song so much - always wish I could have seen them live in the late 80s early 90s, but alas I was a little too teeny.

But something like this would be good at the top of the forum page - like the server status indicator on the launcher. "today's doom level"
yea same here, i saw them a while ago at Sonisphere where inson flew a spitfire over the crowd and then was on stage later
prodigy friday, iron maiden saturday and metallica sunday

Mate I envy you that in any case for a hell of a lineup!

To have seen maiden at one of their headline Europe dates would have been epic though. I also missed out on Floyd and many others - Ken West just doesn't do it for me as a stadium gig.
