Buckyball Run 9: Move 'em out, let it roll!

Damn it all... work got in the way completely this week. I'm afraid this'll be the first Buckyball I've entered that I've DNF'd. Apologize, lads. I'll have to do a run just for kicks and compare to the leaderboard later unofficial-like just to see how close I'd have gotten.

See y'all on back on the Shotgun Shine. Better get ready to congratulate the winners!

So, to join the live race, I just have to join the private group, right?

In that case:
Cmdr Avayu
Ship: Asp Explorer "Von Humboldt"

Holy cow! Just read the rules for the live run and realised I haven't yet submitted an intent to race... 10min to go, here it is:

CMDR LuckyJack
Ship: Albatross (Asp Explorer)
Race: LIVE 9th Jan 3302
Hero: Spock - yes, of course

There are rules? and a private group!

intent to race in a few minutes.
<-lightspeed->
asp
etc...
#

balls! i really should pay more attention to the rules. A group request at 2 minutes before the start, who are you kidding. hohum. off to alacarkamo - again!

I'm not able to make the live run tonight, sorry. :(

Hope you all have a great time.

Hopefully I'll have chance to at least make a second Open mode run before the end, but it's been of those days.

So much fun! I removed the Auto fabricator to see if would get me some distance and then added it back. The race began and I've got no power or thrusters haha!

Well, I'm the idiot who managed to start early while trying to write "Good luck" in the chat. Went back into the station and launched two minutes later. Probably shouldn't even bother with that time, but what the hell.

Still, good fun and it looked amazing to see all you guys start from the outside.

Great race everyone! Wanted to share this before I ran off to do chores this afternoon (US time).

Sadly that was my best maneuver by far...didn't have time to scout the route properly, so I had to be conservative with my scooping, and ironically that led to a couple FSD failures and an emergency drop. Plus flying a Sidey I got mass-locked by literally everyone after leaving the station. ;) Still great fun, though. I'll submit my time shortly.

Thanks to EZ for hosting this excellent race. I'm already looking forward to BBR 10 (unless there is some strange even number curse).

This will be my last race until I return from my vacation late February. I wish everyone a good time at the races.

Fly fast, CMDRs.

Oh, I hadn't noticed this neat page that's available after submitting the racing form.

Who else remembers the good ole' days when people used to complain that the slot wasn't big enough. :)

AHHHHH! There it is! I've been trying to figure out how to make that public for the past half hour!

Apparently, you have to submit a record to see the tally... There must be a better way.

Anyway, thanks to everybody who came out and took part in the 2nd BBR Live event this week! Even though I didn't finish first and that makes everyone sad, I hope y'all had as much fun as I did.

Off to catch up on today's times and put the Live Leaderboard up in lights!
