Er....fast? Two years is plenty of time. Five for PP and counting.
Err, we already dropped fast when it was postponed by a year. If we also have to drop 'good' we just end up with 'cheap'. I think we can aim a tad higher.
well, you also seem to defend it a lot without shaking it personally,is just your opinion, but those issues usually have a base. Why would anyone bother
to f++k a poor movie dubber for children? It makes no sense and also that you get too carried away by those things you read on the internet .
now yes ,good night
I'm done with these devs, they are just doing the same thing they did last year delaying content for basic bug fixes that should be getting done anyway,
I just know that any new content they release is going to suck so I'm out, no more money from me fdev I even deleted my 15 week game time account with all my grind to win ships and god knows how many billions of credits just so I know I'm never coming back.
At the end of the path of this thread; it is understood that what has been said for a long time even more is the right way. It must be said that Frontier must be more aware that his quality control over Elite dangerous has created internal and public image problems. But you can fix them, by hook or by crook.Perspective is indeed sorely needed in the discussion. While the proof of FDEV decision will still be in the pudding, this is probably and imo one of the most accurate and reasonable posts in the thread.
If software development, pick none.
Well, yesterday Naughty Dog announced that The Last of Us 2 is being delayed a few months to May 2020, and the fans of The Last of Us won't have had any new content for 7 years as the first game came out in 2013.
[...]
I'm not disapointed because of the delay of FC, but because of all the delayed content in the past. They announced ice planets. then they said it would be delayed to focus on other things. Nowadays, they don't even speak a word about them. All they've showed us were arts or little pics, no work in progress. Did they even start working on them? Or they've hasty released unfinished content, multicrew for example.
Now they've moved FC to work on bugs instead. Removing bugs is a good thing, but not on the shoulders of the new, promised content.
It was their mistake to remove the betas.
I'm not sure, but I bet 'the new era' will be delayed aswell - announcment sometime next year
FD
Chapter Four update. Some of the technology from the ice planets specifically will be used within our wider and global visual upgrade, so there will still be general improvements, but not everything we originally envisaged.
A lot of work can be done in six months. I'm interested to see how serious this apology'n'coursecorrection really is, when this time passes. Apologizing is nice, but this just killed any excuse for further delays, and poor bugfixing. Not delivering then will justify every comment that portray this game "dead" IMO.
Like after your first bowel movement of the day. Refreshed, invigorated. Lighter.
It's possible someone suggested something in relation to fleet carriers that FDev hadn't thought of and it jammed a major spanner in the works. They seem to do that quite a bit when releasing content and apparently forgetting to test rudimentary things the players pick up in mere minutes of server restart.
Take your time FDev, let us help you test it and under promise so you can then over deliver.
I've lost all faith in FD at this point.
The "we are going to focus on core gameplay and bug fixes" is old news. We have heard it before, and the same bugs are still there, even as you implement new ones.
I personaly didnt care to much about the carriers, alltough it atleast gave some substance to push against. Now, I will shelf this game until 2021 when they tell us the New Era wil be delayed until 2022 since they need to focus on the core gameplay and bugfixes.
I will spend no more money and time in this futile game until something of substance is delivered to the players as promised.
And @Will Flanagan , you need to step up your game as a CM. There is a great comunity out there if you just give them a change, and there is nothing wrong in keeping the comunity informed on what to come and the state of development. It will solve the storage problem from all the salt you store for later use, I imagine the pile is pretty big by now. We the comunity have investet time and money in this and I feel we deserve more!
I think that's highly likely.... discussion revealed holes or even user expectations that werent covered in the original plan.
A lot of work for Frontier, to see if they get what they promised or delay it again, but I see that more work is now being done by their damage control guys to justify the unjustifiable.
I have come to read that they justify this delay, because "Frontier has listened to the community's complaints about the matter of fixing the bug that has been around for years".
And they stay so calm after writing this. LOL.
Fleet carriers was already delayed a year and now another 6 months and 6 months before Elite dangerous 2.0 release?
A delay of max 6 months for a free "Personal Fleet Carriers" feature in a computer game is "unjustifiable". Love the shrillness, and you stayed calm after writing that? I am sure a lot of people out there in the real world dealing with real world problems wouldnt be so calm with you!
Are you working for FD?Not this again. The original envisioned Squadron Fleet Carriers were postponed indefinitely ie it didnt even get out of concept stage, we knew nothing of their feature set or scope. Sure you can look forward to them or spend a year of your life pointlessly fretting over illusions to broken promises in a computer game, but no work was done on them. What exactly was this promise that people were pinning their hopes to in that case? If you read the Carrier official forum thread then it is clear everyone has quite different expectations and this is even after the only feature set was released on the relaunch as Personal Fleet Carriers in Gamescon August 2019.
People loved Beyond Q4 so yes are you actually saying it was not justifiable to drop Ice Planets or Fleet Carriers from Beyond?
No idea what 6 months before "New Era" has got to do with anything. When "New Era" is launched will be able to say whether the skeleton crew working on Carriers and Bug fixes will have been "justifiable" or not.
