Console accounts transfer to PC

So what are the odds that we get no news prior to May 25th. It's been a while so just wondering.
They are probably focusing on the F1 management game right now.

My PC arrived last week, all I want is my account transferred over so I can go explore. FD benefit aswell I still have to buy the game again and odyssey.

People making out its some sort of rocket science when it isnt.

Indeed its really not. I imported both my PS5 and PC commander into Inara freshly this afternoon using the Inara to Frontier API link. (as I messed up and overwrote my PS commander with my PC details. An easy reset and fix on Inara).

As I said on the other thread, I am happy to leave my ARX and cosmetics all behind on PlayStation if there is somehow some contractual limitation. My commander data is all available over the Frontier API so whats the hold up? I wont be spending a single penny more on the PS Store with Elite, Sony are losing no revenue from me.

Let me use my PS5 commander on my PC please. :) (I have already bought Elite and Odyssey on PC).

Me and @BongoBaggins can finally play together then. :)

Frontier,

Without getting into the reasons that led to the decision to cancel ED console development, I think that it's the correct way to let us transfer ALL commander data from a console account to a PC account. Even if the storefronts are different, assets could be transferred in form of one-time use vouchers or a similar method. Assets that should be able to be transferred include:

1) Discoveries
2) Ranks
3) Permits
4) Ship unlocks (i.e. Cobra Mk IV)
5) Paid items such as skins
6) Credits

For me personally, the most important items are the first 4, with #5 a great thing if happened and #6 can always be replaced. But please, give us a way to walk out of console and into PC (some users are ready to do the jumps, other may do so in the future). That's would be the only way I think this horrible news can be at least mitigated. I've been playing since Xbox Game Preview, and spent thousands of hours in this game. Don't let me and others in a similar situation to get our journey truncated in such a sad way.
Hello,

I asked this to Frontier.
Yesterday I would like to play via Xbox. I get the Message: you have a double Account this account will be cloesed forever.
I have bought a Licence over Steam for PC and one over Frontier for Xbox.
My reply to the email from frontier I got another notice: i am banned because they say I have used cheating. But Id do not use cheating, I do not know how such things
could work. In any time I play and play and geht after 6 months the money for a carrier.
Then I was outside at hotspot farming. I farmed 3 Weeks to get enough tritum and I farmed minerals. Two days ago I sold them for 3.000.000.000 at a station.
After this I got on next day the message cheating.
I think they will kill all xbox users on the same way. I ask for poofs about my cheating.
They said no they would not give any.

So I am sitting here after 2 1/2 years playing with nothing.
Thanks to Frontier for this.
Now I have no fun more to play this game. I lost my account, my credits and they banned me. I do not know for what?

It appears we will get some news soon

Im a bit worried now because I didn't think it needed to be delivered this way.

Am I the only one optmisc about it? lol

It's either transfer the credits back or more than the credits. I believe in the second option as there would be no reason to suspend something that was already possible for over a month, just to bring it back with no changes in an announcement like that.

EDIT:

Also, I have just noticed something that I didn't pay attention before.
Take a look at the date!!!

It's may 4th.

May the 4th be with you guys. It's Star Wars day!!!

No way at all they would blame such a date!!!

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH US ALL!!!!!

Well I guess we should be optimistic, but to me "discussing console account transfers" could still mean "we haven't anything to announce right now, but what would console players really like?"

Frontier is kiiling console support, at least they have to let all progress, ranks and ships (such as Corvette, Imperial Cutters etc) to be transfered to a PC account
I just found out about this a couple days ago. What's the deal here? Do I have to purchase the game again for PC? Will I get a free PC download since I've already purchased the game on Xbox One X? They are deciding to discontinue the game on the medium I purchased it for, so it only seems fitting that they give me a download for PC if they want to keep my business. Gotta admit, I'm pretty disappointed with their way of doing this.

Yes, discussing them how though? Will we have to purchase the game again for PC though to then have the account transferred or are we going to be given keys to download the game on PC whilst have the account transferred? In other words, transfer the account or transfer the game form one medium to another (in essence).

They have given no reason to be optimistic about anything Elite related. They badly mishandled every single aspect of this whole saga from PR to the game itself.

They weren't prepared to offer any solutions when they announced they were abandoning people. That's not the mentality of someone you should ever trust to do the right thing.

That being said, it's not impossible either. The best course of action is to simply be realistic, it either will happen or it will not. There's no reason to be optimistic based on past FD behavior but as long as they don't say 'we're still looking into it" or "No" then you shouldn't be 100% pessmestic either.

No one will know until Wednesday.

Like others, my “best case” would be the ability to ”merge” accounts - ie transfer all the stuff and progress from my PS CMDR to my PC CMDR but without deleting anything already on my PC CMDR.

But I’ve been avoiding playing since the original announcement in case the only option is “overwrite your PC CMDR with your PS CMDR“ …

Wednesday could be interesting …

Support have already told me an account transfer won't affect existing PC accounts so a merge is unlikely. My guess is, as the announcement about next week's announcement comes so soon after the console announcement (2 months - short for Frontier) that nothing beyond credit transfer will be possible.
If account transfers happen, you can be sure cosmetics won't be a part of that. My guess would be ranks and, possibly, first discoveries. Ships and modules to be asset transfers only.

If account transfers happen, you can be sure cosmetics won't be a part of that.
If they can transfer everything else then they can transfer cosmetics as well. Failure to include cosmetics in transfers would then be recognised as nothing but a cynical cash-grab. That will do wonders for PR.

Not saying you're definitely wrong on it happening, just raising an eyebrow at the prospect.

Naturally, I'd rather they do the honourable thing and transfer cosmetics as well. We shall see.
