Console Profile Copy Process - Live Now!

Yeah, but let's not pretend the whole console development cancellation situation is all the players' fault.

i'm not sure i've seen anyone claiming it was players fault for console cancelation development

"It's not a Frontier problem" seemed to suggest that.

that was regarding "i cannot afford a computer to play Odyssey" or "i dont want no damn PC to play Elite, since i like my couch play better"

If you lose them, then they certainly won’t make you a profit.

they make no profit from someone that is playing the game (purchased 4-5 years ago) while still crapping on FD at every opportunity and making proud claims of never ever buying any cosmetics. 🤷‍♂️
i know the saying that "there is no such thing as bad publicity" but sometimes there is and it's not helping

You can't fix problems when you don't have either the capability or the responsibility to do so, sometimes customers are best left to be ex-customers, you will always lose some customers no matter what business, the trick is to gain more than you lose!
Are you saying that because I’m was not rich enough to afford a PC, i deserve to be an ex customer?

I know me and many other console players spent a lot of money on ARX and the game in general, and again, not saying it was worth it to keep it around, but it should have been handled better.

Because Frontier didn't want to. Presumably for a related reason to why you chose not to do the transfer process at any time during the preceding two months.

A related reason to me leaving Elite Dangerous after they completely abandoned console players after making us wait a year with no news? Many console players missed that because again, our consoles don’t have easy to use internet access.

And presumably you dont monitor the email address behind your Console account - which again, it's not FDev's fault.
To reiterate - the email account tied to my XB account received the email notification regarding transfers on September 12th - on the day transfers started

you dont really need a PC if you have an XBox.
you can pay 10 euros per month for a premium Geforce Now account and enjoy Odyssey on your XBox, played in Edge browser... and you can drop the Live Gold subscription too - so basically no extra costs if Elite is the only multiplayer game you play on your XB

I’ve had this xbox account since like, 2005 it’s not even my email.

Either way, I’m not upset that Fromtier didn’t personally notify me. As someone said early, Indefinitely was two months and plenty of notice was one week.

Isn't the timing for having a kerfuffle a bit off? I mean Arthur "promised" on stream a month ago, and then again 2 weeks ago that he'd investigate and get back to us with updated information on the new transfer process. It must be anyday now.. :)

Na march the 31st is still in Q1... so many weeks yet... live stream on the 23rd of march would still be able to be unsure of the releasing before that date...

Yeah, but let's not pretend the whole console development cancellation situation is all the players' fault.

Never said it was, I do think it was a great pity that FDEV found themselves unable to continue console development, having said that they did provide a way for console players to pull almost their entire account across to PC, from then on it was up to the players themselves to take advantage of it, or not as the case may be.

"It's not a Frontier problem" seemed to suggest that.

Out of context, nice!

It was clearly expressed in context that it wasn't FDEV's fault if the player decided not to take advantage of the transfer process, so it's not their problem to sort things out if a player didn't take advantage of that opportunity.

They probably already didn't make a profit, otherwise they wouldn't have been 'abandoned'. That was the point.
That was the assumption.

Of course if console users weren’t making Frontier money, I wonder why they chose to try to keep them by creating the legacy version of ED?

Well, i always said they should shut it down and use the resources for Live.

But i'm pretty sure there are quite a number of players that appreciate FDev for keeping Legacy running.
Ofc, to be able to appreciate the gesture, you need to actually play the game

Maybe Frontier are nice. Or they make just enough money to justify the costs of the legacy version. That wouldn't be rocket science.

Then let me add context (that you left out ;) )

People take breaks from the game, not everybody logs in each and every day. The windows of time was way smaller than initially communicated and I really don't think it's fair to blame players who missed it.

Didn't the person in this case even write they checked about once a months if anything new was added to the game? Obviously a one week notice will not work out with that interval.
