only gripe is the spirit level dot is not in the middle, is it essential for it to be in the middle?
........... gotta be honest think im in over my head having never done this before SO.......having to admit defeat and these will sit unloved and unused
That's a bugThe calibration sketch doesn't write the new adjustments back to the chip. I also found a bug in the Invensense example code that results in the calibration not being as good as it should (ahem... or making it worse
)
So nothing to worry about, just go ahead and get it level by eye and do the yaw drift bit. In-game drift might not be as good as it could be but fixed calibration sketch should help. Will post here when it's in the wild.
Brumster is setting up a new EDTracker site where we can have a forum dedicated to this. We don't want to spam the ED forums without our little project and it will make it easier to help peeps out and, crucially, help folks keep track on just what the he11 is going on![]()
Don't feel too bad Paz I'm sure there are many more in this position, mine sits gathering dust until there's a Dummies guide for non-techy types to getting it up and running.
Wishing I'd just stumped up the extra few quid for a finished and programmed version but thought it'd be a 'fun exercise' to build it myself - boy did I get that wrong![]()

SO after a failed attempt last night, my son decided to have a look at what Iwas playing with and by accident broke the usb off...
*snip*
Also I have been trying to mount this thing on my headset, tried a few boxes and I think I have found a decent one big enough for the usb plug which goes into the micro, a 9V battery box with a little modifcation can house this headtracker with daughterboard, gonna have to order 1 from maplin as my backward little town I reside doesn't even know what one is.
One click 'install and go' will happen, just depends on when Alpha 4 turns up and how often it Crash To Desktop on me![]()
So overall impressed with this only drawback I have to have the EDtracker UI running otherwise the computer says no and nothing works.

do you think I could solder 2 wires to the feet of that so I could stick the button switch on the side of the box
