DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

I know some people in the forum don't like ungulates, but I am an exception. I hope the new DLC can cover all of Asia instead of focusing only on India. I want the following ungulates.View attachment 430765View attachment 430766View attachment 430767View attachment 430768View attachment 430769View attachment 430770
I dont think anyone here ever really disliked ungulates itself. The negative feeling about them imo came mainly from us getting an excessive amount of them for a long time, with very little in terms of other animals, some of which where very underrepresented at the time.
Like if we got 3 animal packs in a row which all have 60-80% primates then people would be equally fed up with them.

And this is just a personal thing, but in my opinion hoofstock are kind of boring to build for, so for me they are never really the most exciting additions to the game. Still nothing against them in real life tho

Blackbuck, Nilgai, Gaur.

I know we need deer but those three are too iconic to India to not include. Overall very excited for our new ungulates we’ll be getting in this pack. And I am hopeful/ excited for an ungulates heavy one this time around.
Personally I really would Like to See 4 ungulates within the Pack:
Muntjac
Blackbuck
Nilgai
Gaur

But I am really an ungulate Fan. I would take them all 😁

At this point I'm happy with everything. I mean - we're STILL getting stuff!
Yes, that is indeed great. But....
I think, all the animals in the upcoming pack will be clones and one of them will be another Elephant :/
I would love to get a civet tbh.
... I also think this and I am REALLY tired of financing Planet Coaster 2 with low effort PZ packs.
If we would get at least TWO or better three more effort animals and at least A BIT of a free update, I would not complain. At all. But we are STILL paying the same amount of money for packs that have a huge content quantity drops and that come with no free update.

I love the Honey Badger. I wanted it. But no other more unique animal and questionable scenery and we have an Americas Pack 2.0.

Personally that elephant is bothering me as much as the missing Coati already. But give me 2 more unique animals (not the macaque) and usefull scenery and I'm good.

I generally like ungulates, but I can agree with them being relatively boring and repetitive to build for. It's also going to be situational when and where I want to see new ones - the only two new world ungulates I'd like to see at this point are the white-tailed deer and lowland tapir (both fairly contentious, sure), greater Asia is restricted to basically Pere David's deer and Reeve's muntjac, and there's exactly 0 from Europe I'd be open to. But there's still probably a half dozen African ungulates I'd be very eager to see, and India in particular has a ton of potential. I wouldn't be terribly bothered if this pack wound up being the honey badger, macaque, and 5 ungulates.

Yes, I'm going to be putting my fingers in my ears and saying "nuh uh" at the elephants up until it's explicitly, unavoidably spelled out for me.

Yes, I agree with you that it is indeed "relatively more" rather than "absolutely more". And as far as ungulates are concerned, the lineup we have obtained is not "balanced".

Any bets on what the complex animal in this pack will be, after getting the Sifaka and Bush Dog which quite clearly had a bit more put into them than the rest of the pack I wonder if we will see something similar this time around, the macaque, honey badger and elephant should all be relatively simple clones - maybe one of the other animals is fairly complex although most of the common requests are quite simple clones, maybe there is hope for a pelican?

Hear me out: habitat snake. Python or Cobra.
This would unironically slap. I've been asking for habitat constrictor snake since forever. It would be especially good fit for one of the biggest ones like Reticulated Python. I mean it's not happening, but since you mentioned it...
Let's play a game, pick 3 ungulates you want to see in this pack. I will check back in the evening to add up the score.

My three picks are Blackbuck, Chital, and Gaur

Blackbuck is an easy one, Hog Deer is my favorite of Indian Deer pickings and third could be Four-Horned Antelope.

I don't think they put that much effort to realistically scale Elephant to the enrichment in a cover art.

However if they did, I would be slightly disappointed, because that would definitely eliminate Borneo Elephant as an option, which is the one that would be slightly better (for me) than Sri Lankan.

I really hope we get something like De Brazza's Monkey and Golden Lion Tamarin in the future... With the addition of the Lion-Tailed Macaque I feel like Asia has a pretty decent primate roster, and Madagascar has four lemur species which is a really good number in my opinion (although I wouldn't mind an aye-aye)
For me it’s:
Africa: Mantled Guereza & Gelada
South America: Black-Capped Squirrel Monkey @ Black Howler
Madagascar: Aye-Aye

and I’ll be satisfied (although will take any primate I can get!).

There are a lot of good artiodactlys here but that still doesn't mean I want them taking up half the pack or more (again). Three is the max I would accept, two would be ideal. There are just too many good other options (cough cough birds) to where I really don't want another pack that's dominated by one order (or one family as bovids often do). A pheasant is probably the most missing animal for the region to me and I'd hate to see galliformes, waterfowl, gruiformes, ciconiiformes (which we still have none of btw), etc shafted again in favor of like, three bovids lol.

I'd love a chevrotain as one of my personal favorite ungulates but I wouldn't call it essential, really the only essential for me ungulate wise is one between the blackbuck and nilgai (I don't have any desire for both, as again I'd be disappointed to see a rich get richer approach when there's so many groups that haven't even scratched the surface.), and maybe a true deer, of which the muntjac is my favorite pick by far.

Just no caprines. Please.

I've never been the biggest fan of ungulates in-game but India (or even just Asia) has a whole swath of species I wouldn't mind getting! Maybe it's because I've been Bronx Zoo Monorail-pilled? Haha! But yeah... Give me the blackbuck, chital, nilgai, and/or literally any muntjac and I'll be happy. The gaur and any of the other deer would be fine too; just wouldn't get me as excited.

Honestly, the more I reflect on what this pack might be the more excited I get. India feels like a very likely pick given that there's already an animal pack with "Asia" in the name, but I'd be lying if an Asian pack wouldn't open it up for a few other options I'd love to see (Japenese serow, tanuki/raccoon dog, cloud rat).

Oh. And I know it's pretty likely they've stopped with the free updates. But man, if we get an Indian pack? It would be such a missed opportunity to make the Indian Architecture and sandstone wall pieces flexicolor!

They would be based on posed game models, so probably accurate, though the distance between them and the enrichments is hard to tell, they could be smaller than they look.

The Key art isn't on Twitter yet like it usually is by now, so hopefully they're busy removing the elephants altogether.
