I think what's going on is that - at least in terms of the roster - we're all in a long term relationship with Frontier. And in those first few years, you start to pick up on your partner's weird quirks, but you look the other way or more attractive traits take focus:
"Okay, so five new animals per pack at a fourth of the price of the base game, a little steep, but hey look at all the cool new scenery and penguins too!"
"Huh, no waterfowl in a wetlands pack...eh, whatever, I love capybaras!!!"
"So PZ doesn't have flying birds even though there's a walkthrough aviary, okay, a little odd...but omg maned wolf and caracal!

"
But over time, you start to grapple with the fact those quirks are more like features, problematic traits they are either unwillingly or unable to change...
"Wow nice porcupine! That's...that's a lot of ungulates..."
"Cool, a swan! You really needed more hoofstock huh..."
And then, finally, one day, after addressing your concerns and having those conversations, and finally come to the realization they're who they've always were, you just kinda snap:
"YOU KNOW WHAT F#$%^ YOU AND YOUR LACK OF A COATI!!!! ANOTHER ELEPHANT???? HOW FREAKIN' HARD IS IT TO FOLLOW A WISHLIST WE'VE BEEN UPDATING DAILY SINCE 2021, YOU TEA-SIPPING, HOLLY JOLLY HOLIDAY, HOGWARTS SOUNDING DORKS!!!!"
Not saying I'm there, I'm holding judgement and thought Americas was alright, but...the longer this goes on, the more apparent the gaps in the line-up become.
