I got interdicted by a Corvette once while I was in my Vulture. I decided to bail out too late and he got me one second before I made it back to supercruise. Shoulda high waked. I was surprised at how long it took, though. Aside from shields, I had all hull reinforcement upgrades. Totally worth the death. For science!

It was sort of fun, I guess, trying to fight at first, then realizing how screwed I was. Gets your heart pumpin', you know? That was my only PVP encounter aside from messing around with friends.

I think I had a much, much better time in CQC, though. Fast paced action without 1.2 millon rebuys. It really is a shame how broken the matchmaking is.

I like CQC, but I guess people don't count it. as for PVP in the Galaxy: Dunno, probably not, don't care enough to find out.

Meanwhile even a Ju87 in WW2 had Automatics to support a Pilot by regaining its bearing even when the Pilot blacked out. And that without hindering his other Maneuvers ;)

Dont you think that a Spaceship from 2200 should be way better and give more Support for such stuff ? :)

Flight assist does exactly that within gravity fields. Hover within high gravity, point your nose down (or roll) and watch it pitch back up automatically. Or hold it down and watch as auxiliary thrusters that aren't well placed for this kind of balancing struggle to keep you straight. Turn assist off and none of that will happen (+ you will start to fall).

2.
An most Optimized Ship in ED and outside atmosphere manages to get the Average Speed of an Fighter Jet inside Atmosphere.
That alone should be saying enough.

Sorry I am used to Controls from the 21st Century.
I am not good with Controls that feel like yanking a 2m long hydraulic lever around ;)

That's fair enough. Reasons for these things have been discussed at length and it would be a lot less fun if there was no speed limit as should be realistic.
Besides that I can fly these ships way more freely than any "21st Century" technology can currently manage for all I know.
The few vtol crafts that exist still look pretty shaky and are far from having all 6 degrees of freedom. You are commonly still just doing thrust and all rotations.
elite space ships ≠ fighter jets

I like it, but this game have PvP completely broken, however i like to do it in Elite.

PvP is only one reason to do 90% of the Engineers or grinding money.

Everything else like PvE or exploration you can do in Cobra, ASP or Vulture. You do not need anything better or 'boosted' for PvE, exploration, trade, flying or anything else. Without PvP this game have endgame after one week if player is no explorator.

For as much as you whine, in every thread and on every topic, about how "ED SUX!!" you keep appearing on here like an unwanted rash.
When are you going to quit ED? Please?
Maybe go hang out at the SC and NMS forums?

Counter question.
You keep appearing here as the super fanboy fighting anyone who dares critizising the game.
So why are you not in the game and hang around the forums ?
Why dont you spend more time playing your game which you dont consider in need of changes ? :)

I dont think no speed limits would be good.
But i think they could have given us at least Mach 4-5 :)

And well. See thats the thing.
Flight Assist might do the thing an WW2 Automatic could do.
But the WW2 Automatic did that without getting in your way ;)

I think Flight Assist should be loosened.
So its stops making you less maneuverable.

Flight Assist should not cancel out Inertia in the direction that your currently steering too. :)

There should be a Combat Mode were Flight Assist is still working but only at 50% and only once you stopped steering in that axis.
So its not killing your inertia your using for the fight.

Someone just bought up Warthunder.
And well guess what. Warthunder has much more dynamic PvP than ED. At least in RB-SB
Warthunder AB feels alot like Combat in ED.
And any WT player knows that this is quite the insult *gg*

X3 has fairly good Combat Controls for example.

Kind of yesnoish sometimes it is fair sometimes it is un fair it depents on the Player skill sometimes it is an epic battle that Takes 5-10 minutes too kill eatchother sometimes just seconds.....

Pvp is skill based today i just won a fight against an vulture with an sidewinder (pvp(destroyed him(flyed an sidewinder for fun)))
After that I lost an anaconda vs anaconda fight soo...... (skillbased and it depents on how good you know your ship)
(Sry for Bad englisch)

Definitely NO. The main ED universe (I mean Solo) should be definitely PvE only.
On the other side, I think that CQC is a nice instant PvP idea. I also think that ED should go the way the Guilswars 2 is going. The main game PvE only, the pure e-sport PvP part is finished and called CQC. The only part missing is some equivalent of GW2 WvW mode.
ED equivalent of the Guildwars 2 WvW mode can be seen as a separate part of Galaxy, where players can do PvP actions in the form of wars between stations etc. In this mode, each player can use his own ship/outfit/engineering mods etc. But there are no player names, there is a lot of NPCs mixed into player groups and no one is able to know if targeted ship is NPC or player. Also, the death in this mode means nothing, just spawn at the nearest station/outpost without any damage, rebuy etc. Also, there should be some rewards for this mode. Things like decals, maybe special titles and things like that. Nothing usable directly at the main, open, PvE only Galaxy.

Lol on this forum, that question has no place...

No thank you, dumbing down combat is not needed.
I know , the combat is very simple. fun , but simple.
But to be honest he did say once that us alpha/beta backers dont matter and that casuals are the only ones that matter.

He is right instead...
The combat in elite is fine , it needs more depth and added options but all in all , every option in it is usfull and does not need dumbing down.
Games are too easy today.

During prenuim beta we had a very complex game , I will not stand for loosing that depth. for those who dont want depth there is NMS , and thats fine ; but lets not ruin elite

Yeanooehh... sort of limbo-ing in between.
It sure is thrilling when participating in cg's and such.
Not so if it's a random meaningless attack.
In the right settings, I'd be fine with it.
It's just not something I'll be looking for willingly any time soon.
Don't think it should be removed though. It's part of the charm, sort of.
So.. I don't really wanne vote. It ain't yes, but no is too negative.

So the way I see it is that CQC is the PVP bit of Elite. It's a bit of fun. I don't think anyone is claiming that playing in 'Open' is really meant to be PVP as such, though it allows people to fight each other if they want... which I like sometimes. I do appreciate it when people talk to me and ask for a fight or if a pirate asks for cargo prior to engaging. Respect to all the real Pirates still around! And being an Imperial it's acceptable that Feds come at me whenever.

There are plenty of purer PVP games that we can play if we want that. To me 'Open' mode in ED is PVE where I sometimes encounter players. I like it that way.

Of course the discussion around griefers has been done to death... in any social scenario you can meet people that are a bit wrong in the head :)

FD said that as long as you are not abusing a game mechanic hunting down players is fine...

So as usual in these things the pve-ers far outway the pvp-ers. Is anyone surprised? Just waiting for the denials and excuses now.

why? we vote - some bloody gangster takes all the money of the people and leaves to some outer rim system (controlled by the border coaltion maybe) to spend his dirty fortune on dairy products. Before the vote is after the vote - people get milked.

What is there to deny or excuse? Tell me.

Maybe I have spent to much time in the Open Letters thread :s

What's to deny or excuse? I think all PvPers recognize they aren't in the majority of a poll like this.

Actually, 28% is pretty high and good showing, especially when you consider that PvP tends to be a more end-game activity (for lack of a better term) and many PvPers don't tend to favor the Fdev forums any longer.
