Docking Request Denied

So last night I was trying to dock at a space port and I put in (not even kidding) at least 20 back to back requests to dock and all were denied. All I wanted to do was drop off my three passengers.....a simple 7 million dollar job. Upon entry out of SC, there were no system authority vessels flying about and no traffic. Considering this was one of the big space city ports (diamond shaped ones) this was weird. Not only that but I actually flew in without permission and I was not attacked and upon entry into the space port all docs were available there were no ships part find about or even inside . So I figured it must be a bug so I automatically leave the station going to supercruise and try different dock. so I figured it must be a bug so I automatically leave the station going to supercruise and try different dock .....Too no avail. After waiting 30 minutes and going back still can’t document any port in the system . No bounties are on me . After frustration I just close the game and went to bed well this morning all of those missions failed...7 million down the drain. Anyone have answers?

Me and my bro Cmdr Wotno' have been encountering this phenomenon. He said he had read somewhere that its a glitch (probably been introduced in the last update ) .

i can confirm i saw the same thing last night. was unable to dock at a port and was instantly denied at the Freeport station in LHS-2887 near Eranin. there were no other vessels around it and no voice comm to confirm my arrival. had to restart my xbox and log back in to fix this. it happened 3 times just last night. been a problem since i downloaded the January patch for the game

I've been running into this issue was well the past few nights, my workaround is a little less dramatic than logging off and back in. When I get the "Access Denied" message repeatedly - I unlock my destination target and activate my supercruise in a random direction, immediately throttle down and turn 180, re-lock to the port and then drop out of supercruise. That usually does it for me, after that I am able to get the docking permission. Hopefully this works for you and the issue gets patched soon

It is yet another bug, but there are so many bigger issues with the game now that Frontier will probably not get around to fixing it for a while. Best work around is to log off and log back in again, which almost always clears it.

Just experienced the same thing, no station in the system will grant docking permission. Tried logging off and on again to no avail and been in and out of supercruise. Logged off for a bit and will wait to see if it sorts itself out.

I can confirm this problem has not been fixed, it’s been happening to me tonight. Ships floating in space near Kini somewhere!

I have this issue as of last night on Xbox One X as well, docking request denied at every station I visit, in system or another system including ones I am friendly with (like engineers). Happened at Qwents too, just a bit ago.

I have been able to correct it by saving and exiting to main menu, and I know this sounds weird, but visit the Frontier store from the main menu. Once you're there, exit out and go back in to your game and you should be corrected.

For me, it was never enough just to log off and back on, or switch between Solo and Open. It seems linked to the Frontier Market to me.

I say this because I was outfitting a new T6 last night and wanted to go to the shop from the outfitting screen, and it would not go. It was only today that I made the connection that the bug SEEMS to be related to the Frontier store.

Again, once I bounce into the Frontier store from the Main Menu, then reload the game, I can dock.

Don't even know how this stuff happens....

OK GUYS I HAVE THE ANSWER! i know why the docking request is denied. after clearing cache on my system(unplug it and go get a dring then come back) ive noticed that the request is only blocked at Outposts since they only have 1 medium pad. In my case i noticed that the NPC ships that were docked attempted to take off when i make m request except theyre stupid.

THEY FLIP OFF THE LANDING PAD BACKWARDS and collide with any nearby structure. for some reason they cannot be moved. they have no collision effect but they can be fired upon....this wont move them either. leaving the station or system in SC usually fixes this after the above menitoned occurs. also to to note is that the ships engines keep firing even though its stuck in place.

Yes, but if you read the above posts it is not just outposts, it happens at main starports.
The Bug at outposts is well reported and seems to be affecting all platforms.
The docking denied at starports seems to be just xbox.

Let's hope it's fixed soon.:(

This just happened to me last night and it had glitched out every starport/landing zone anywhere, I even flew back to shinrarta just to make sure and yeah I was trapped, a man without a port, in my new phantom. Filled out a ticket and not even sure they had a chance to see it last night before I deleted it this morning because it wasnt a problem anymore. Glad to know It wasn't just me, but this is definitely not just an issue with NPC's getting stuck, theres something else at play here, I went to 4 different places (one an engineers landing base) and none allowed me access to land, had to wait til this morning for problem to become resolved.

I think the problem is created by trying to access the frontier store when you’re in-game.

Clear the cache by holding the power button until your controller xbox button stops flashing. That should fix the problem unless you try to access the frontier store through the Livery sub menus, as this seems to create the problem.

Just access the frontier store in the main menu prior to starting the game until they fix the issue.

I’ve seen this as well.

Actually approached the ship from the non-pad side (in order to avoid getting a pad loitering violation), slowly positioned myself and then pushed the ship out of the area in order to clear the pad. It works but, as I’ve encountered this a few times already, a tweak of the AI may be in order.

Add me to the 'DRD' list, though I'm happy to report that the logging out/ in has mostly 'fixed' it, allowing me to land. Am curious though why this well documented and established issue hasn't recieved a REAL fix, meaning if you get a DRD it's because there's actually to much traffic. Which would be undertandable. Someone earlier mentioned however getting a DRD in SOLO when the station pads are clearly empty, this is the thing that needs a fix. Is it possible it's that difficult ( says the guy w/ no experience in designing games of this magnitude).

Turns out this bug is still in the game, after several updates. They haven't fixed the bug.

I'm flying trade missions pretty much all day long making a lot of credits however I'm spending approximately 3 to 4 minutes and every single industrial station to allow NPCs to dock before me while I sit in space waiting for this game mechanism to conclude. If you're flying is many missions as I am and you play for maybe four hours on the weekend, I started calculating this and I'm spending roughly 1 hour sitting in space waiting for an NPC's to conclude their docking procedure. Let me say that again I'm waiting for NPCs to conclude their docking.
I don't know what the calculus is on this game mechanic but this is utterly ridiculous this needs to be fixed immediately. I mean I hate to say it but this is just one of many stupid game mechanics that are in this game I mean for real it's hard enough to get time to sit down and play game for any extensive. Of time that you have a life outside of Gaming. To have to sit there and look at a station for 3 to 4 minutes for virtually every run I do totaling these amount of times is just Beyond ridiculous.
