These guys are going to write their names forever in the video games history.

..and for anyone like me who was (until 5 minutes ago) still ignorant about Track IR:

Looks good!

Might be worth checking out this open-source webcam-based solution too...

http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm

I haven't really looked into it yet, but it appears people are building their own head-mounted tracking devices. At first glance it seems very interesting.

hmm my Track Ir still dont work with ED. When ill make game update, it says allready all games updated. someone knows how to get it to work ?

Would be great if they could support that, as I have no interest in investing in TrackIR to be honest but something that uses my existing webcam would be great.

Anaglyph is surely the connoisseurs choice when it comes to 3D ;-)

"connoisseurs"? strange, in french we dont say that, or at least not since long ago(?), we say "connaisseur";)

anyway i'm affraid trackir would very quiclky makes my head hurt.

just trying to set facetrack noir on war thunder i felt sick before i actually find the right settings, which i actually didnt find, i dont even dare to try again...

maybe the fact of looking the same place while tourning the head confuses my brain...
i have the same sensation when i play doom like games, so i didnt play much of those.
better graphics helped for fps games, though it's not really my kind of game anyway.
i hope it will be better on occulus rift if i ever get the chance to try one.

It's designed to be TrackIR compatible, so fingers crossed it will just work.

Apparently its processing can be hived off onto a second PC too, which has to be good news for those without top-end CPUs.

YES TrackIR!!!!.

I can't play a flight / space combat game without it now. So much better situational awareness (and more immersion).

3D Support :) :) :)

Very encouraging to see such great features added in so early. Hurry up Premium Beta!!!

Actually I'm glad I don't have alpha as it would ruin Christmas for the rest of my family ;-)

"Dad, come and carve the turkey!!!".

"Pew Pew Pewww!!!"

You can't look behind you with these units (TrackIR / Oculus) can you? ie: The cockpit layout doesn't permit rear view? Only around to about 90 degrees from straight ahead?

I haven't set my dev kit up again since installing my new vid card... gonna get on that tonight!

Canopy is open overhead too which will help quite a bit while tracking target.

Looks very interesting! Not sure how this can compete with Oculus though, other than on price?

If you don't want to be 100% isolated from family members while playing, a less immersive experience could work better. Plus the headset might not suit everyone (e.g. spectacles wearers?)

Actually another feather in TrackIRs cap is surely the fact you can easily see all your controllers etc!?

Oculus will of course be 3D though!
