This game is CLEARLY not ready for release. Frontier, please delay release until all the bugs and crashes are fixed. What is kind of weird, is that the game was running fine for the past week or two, but the past several days have been a DISASTER. Also, my acct was wiped clean of all money and I had to start over from 100 bucks from over 500K.

We're still over a month away from release. Please name a single online game that has released bug free and smooth running. Even the largest MMO in history released with glitches and continues to do so with every new expansion.

I know they were down most of yesterday. It seems as though they are down again this morning. Anyone able to log on?

Odd...I played most of the day yesterday with maybe a couple of boots. The "START" takes a couple of minutes to go white but I consider that a very minor problem.

U must work for Frontier and U R trying to gloss over it. Read the forums. The thing has been crashing. Do you want to see the apology I got from Frontier for the crash today?

Very strange, I've not had any problems and have been live streaming pretty much every day. I am playing in open play now and live streaming.. http://www.twitch.tv/shoklar

Shok.

To quote a post I made in another forum...

> Bit more info... after having ups and downs all morning, it seems that from where I am in the US Amazon Web Services Europe is having connectivity issues... when I get dropped, the server cloud over there is not reachable by ping. May be a DDOS, may be
> some sort of network issue, but this one may not be FD's fault (other than their choice of cloud providers LOL) Now, why they don't get Amazon to multi-home it in their cloud here in the US so we have a closer place to play... well...

You ever thought that maybe they're tinkering with the servers, like minute changes that doesn't require the whole server to go down but because so many are on it puts a strain on the connection??? You ever thought that they're hard at work while you're busy sat on your butt whining? I highly doubt they're just letting the bugs go unfixed.

Sometimes it can also be your connection. So don't start saying this game is a disaster when its probably one of the best space sims out there. It's just some of you don't have the patience to realise that this is testing phase, ticket the problem, don't troll the forums and bring the atmosphere down for everyone else.

I understand your frustration, but get ahold of your net logs(read them first, the ones with "error lost connection" or a similar statement towards the end are most useful.) in your c/ directory attach them to the ticket and "hey presto" they have more insight on how to fix the problem and what the problem is.

Maybe they are... Although, a notice would be nice, and IF they want us to support testing changes they need to communicate this... Personally, IT is my profession, I fix problems on a daily basis, I do not want to have to do the same thing at home lol... if they want our logs, they should direct us to submit them and notify us of any testing that is going on. Otherwise, I see no point in asking everyone to start dumping logs to their team for no reason.

Problem is - this just started happening recently for most of us, something changed, but we are in the dark as to what...

I am an avid supported of showing current server status for the game somewhere on the launcher. I would have thought this would have been implemented already, but alas.

Personally, IT is my profession

Ditto :)

I think a good solution would be to add a button to the login interface to select region and let US people connect through AWS US and EU through AWS EU... that way we are not subject to the transatlantic Throughput Tax(tm).

It isn't MY problem it is FRONTIERS problem. I have a top of the line computer and connection. The game has no multiplayer, limited interaction with other players in game, it is full of bugs, it's crashing almost constantly the past several days, my acct had a complete money wipe and I had to start over with 100 credits, and it does not have any grand/epic missions or theme. It is a "sand box" with no sand! This game the way it is now will get crucified by critics. I imagine it will get a 6 or 7 out of 10. The flight characteristics and graphics are fantastic, but the game has no soul. The entire game is just grinding money to buy new ships and upgrades and then what do you do? U either explore, bounty hunt or pirate. What else is there to do? I LOVE the game, but it's gonna get ripped apart by critics and editors so if Frontier wants a successful game they should delay release, but they want to release by Christmas and stay ahead of STAR CITIZEN.

the " is a common character in programming to put text into, thats called a string, and since it needs one starting & one ending " you need 2 of them. if you got a name like Jame"son, it will cut the string too early, resulting in Jame instead Jameson

but before going offtopic... i just got kicked aswell, and after a 5 minute-or-so pause and a reconnect, i got that "authentication server blabla" message, too.

DONT PANIC!

since it states "SERVER" in the message, its clearly a server issue. please dont try to solve the problem on your end, it will make things worse. you were playing, i was playing. it went well, nothing changed, and plop: we are all out.

conclusions:
a) FDevs are (still) working hard, with no need to tell us that they are resetting/updating/maintaining maybe 100's servers, and it will get fixed soon™,
or
b) ca. 1000 players' PCs broke in 20 minutes on the whole planet.

hm... trying to play again now, lol

just checked for a game update.. aaaand... none. expected.

ingame again.

This would be a wonderful addition!

Last night I was determined as hell to play, but got disconnected at least 6 times. Finally gave up. This morning I can't connect to any servers. Guess I need to get some work done :(

Still down, do you know why? Because it's a holiday and more people are on just like it crashed on Sunday. If the servers are crashing now in BETA what will happen after launch when thousands more are logging in? This is not a FREE game. People will be paying money for it and it should work 99% of the time.

I've noticed it's getting a bit heated in here, can we calm it down a bit please? There's really no need to shout.

Thanks all. :)

The game has been crashing a lot the past 3 days. It is down right now.

I am currently locked out due to a server connection error (per the game menu stating such). Is this isolated to only US players, all players, etc?

I have today off, wanted to test a new HOTAS I just got, but guess I need to move on for a bit, since it has been several days with no communication about the problem lol ;-)

Unfortunately, they like to hide crashes and if they do what you suggest, which is a great idea, then people can run stories documenting the crashes. How many, how long, and such. World of Tanks does the same thing. When they have a crash, which is very rare now, they act like it never happened.

I understand your frustration and losing money in this game is never fun (I've lost over 24 million now so I know your pain). I just wanted to comment that Frontier could delay until December 2015 for launch and still be well ahead of Star Citizen. We'll be lucky to have the Alpha of the PU by next Christmas so it is definitely not a contributing factor to Frontier's release schedule. Also they *aren't* competing with each other, Roberts has backed Elite and Braben has backed Star Citizen. They both want the Space Sim genre to succeed and have a major comeback which is what both of these games are doing.

Well, I still can't login so I guess I will go cut the grass and rake some leaves. It would be nice of Frontier would issue a statement saying when it is expected to be back up or post something on the forums when it is back up.

As you can see I've had to do some surgery on the thread.

I can understand the frustration if the server is down at the moment but, if the arguing continues I won't hesitate to start issuing warnings etc.

So, please take a deep breath.

Thanks.

SERIOUSLY? Literally nothing about servers down over last 48hrs?

I am absolutely appalled to see literally no post what soever, here, on Twitter or otherwise from anyone at Frontier concerning the absolute crap server availability over the last 48 hours.

There were a LOT of posts in this forum as well as a lot of tweet attempts to get a response with *some* kind of explanation, maybe just a, "hey, by the way, the servers are down, we're working on it" - but nothing.

This is a sad way for a developer to handle things for it's community, and it seriously raises concerns with me about the "launch" date. If this is the type of communication we should expect going forward, I won't be recommending this game to others any time soon.

Before some "I've waited 30 years for this" veteran jumps down my throat for having my own opinion - save it. This isn't a post about the quality of the game. It's a post about general respect for your players. I've even seen terrible companies like EA have some type of response when servers are offline - this is a minimum expectation.
