Thanks for the reply Michael. As others have asked is it going to be retroactive? Also I'm guessing that the scans would be cumulative, so if you for example scanned 100 bodies with the normal surface scanner before you picked up the DSS, then the Level 2 scans will always be 100 higher than the Level 3?

It should be retroactive.

Michael

It probably will include all bounties. The point is, don't get scanned on arrival if you have a bounty. I imagine this is an anti-griefer change.

This. IIRC, this change actually should have made it into 1.1 when people were abusing docking after murder inside the station.

hmm what changes because im still having to fly back to my station every few hours in a res point to pay a 200 cr BOUNTY because a stupid npc cop flew in front of me while my beams were shooting

You need to work on your aim then. I haven't gotten that kind of bounty since they changed friendly fire and added damage thresholds.

Minor damage to a shield of a ship you don't have targeted will not get you a bounty. The only bounty I keep getting is firing on wanted players before the basic scan finishes, and that's not on the game mechanics (but their design imo)

I agree.
Devs starting to cater for the elitest rather then the casual players.
What about ppl who relies on a docking computers as well.
(we all don't own hotas to make boosting in that letter box easy)

So a small fine thats makes you wanted, trying to dock to pay the fine get scanned lose all them hours in the ship you got.
This is a stupid move imo.
This change only prevents docking if you have a bounty, the police scan you successfully and notice you have a bounty. They already fire upon you if they see you have a bounty, station and patrols. If you're using the docking computer to leisurely dock at a station where you're wanted, you've got more problems on your hand than merely having docking permission revoked. Problems such as a sudden and unwanted exposure to hard vacuum and lasers.

you restart the launcher over and over until it says "upgrade" instead of play.

Only the popo can scan you, and since Launch I've exactly once seen a security ship at an outpost. So outposts are probably still good to go, unless they're also givein a CAP

Yeah only Military Outposts seem to have a consistent patrol, for obvious reasons.

So I've spend loads of time and effort ingame to buy my Anaconda and now I have to BUY my paint job in ADDITION? Good job alienating your hardcore players Elite...

And this has changed how? Seriously can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Surely if you've been playing long enough to own an Anaconda, you know well that paintjobs have always been paid.

instead we get griefed by the stupid AI if they havent also fixed the friendly fire poor design

My preferred tactic is to boost in a maximum speed - they don't have time to scan you :)

Michael

really ? and what if you fly anaconda ? do you then boost in at maximum speed in the station ? we should be able to pay the fines from space , same goes for taking and finishing missions . it would save us a lot of time .

Couldn't have put it better. I'm perfectly capable of reliably docking a T9. I played the original Elite games and the DC is part of the 'Elite' experience for me. I don't *need* it, it's just nice change of pace when I've been in a combat zone or interdicted. And you can't leave it unsupervised - the sequence often breaks before you land jamming you in the cage or leaving you hovering until the station times you out, with prejudice. Even if it worked perfectly, it uses cargo space and the sequence is noticeably slower than an competent manual dock, loosing credits per hour. It's a trade, a fair one, an individual player choice.

Edit: I was sure this had quoted... reference to nerfing the docking computer.

Great stuff overall, but what does this line mean?

Michael answered it on the second page.

I thought those changes only applied to hitting CMDR ships? Because I certainly haven't notice any difference in the NPC behaviour. Clip one accidentally in a firefight and every system authority ship nearby starts trying to fill you full of holes, same as always.

I'm sure Sarah Jane said that the changes applied to NPC ships as that was the main point of the changes. The amount of damage they can take is dependant on weapons and how much they like/dislike you. I don't do enough fighting to know for sure, but I'd suggest raising a bug report if you can hit an NPC with 1 shot and then you get a bounty

Thanks for the patch!

I hope the new paint jobs are available really soon as I will be in a Paint Job buying mood this weekend :D.

It's cool indeed, but why no fix on assassination missions ?
And why the Anaconda is the only ship that don't have any paintjob ? We don't care bout having more paintjob for the sidey or the eagle, why we don't get it for the Anaconda ?
