My problem would be trackir. As many great games are there are that will run in linux now, the problem for me would be that my favorite genre is flight sims and last i checked, trackir doesnt work in linux.
Started using linux with redhat 5.0 in 96 and up until about 6 months ago had a slackware current install, but with a new computer im playing more games and never installed slackware on it.

An interesting thing is that Debian v9 (stretch) recognizes my X55 HOTAS out of the box. Drivers are included in one of the base packages. Don't ask me which.
So yeah, it's coming along. I guess kudos must go to Steam for the recent leaps and bounds regarding gaming and linux.

How can you say that?Steam has pretty much nothing to do with it. Steam doesn’t produce anything, it’s just a digital store. Individual developers are what produce titles and decide what OSs they will develop for. Most choose windows. Some, like Craneballs, produce for windows and Linux. See Planet Nomads.
