Good point. I could travel to a station and try selling some tonight. I would have expected a patch note though. The server maintenance was yesterday. Has anybody tried some Exobiology since then?

Maybe.Do you think it makes sense to load all ships on a fleet carrier and escape from the Bubble for thousands of light years? Just in order to save assests.
I did… no change in rewards as of yesterday evening. (‘Bout 20:00 game time)The server maintenance was yesterday. Has anybody tried some Exobiology since then?
Greetings !
- An increase in payout for EXObiology!
Out of curiosity, what are you doing now that Horizons progress no longer transfers? I'm so demoralized with trying to find materials that I'm tempted to just quit trying altogether. It took me 18+ hours of game time just to find a single source for a grade 4 mat I was looking for. Most of the times I check planets, I spend 15-30 minutes scouring the surface in both my ship and SRV only to find nothing even though the whole planet is blue in the DSS.Oh I'd never go materials prospecting in Oddy - In fact I spent over 20 min in Odyssey this afternoon after making that video just to film a comparison - couldn't find a single fumarole or geyser - not one - complete nightmare so gave up.
After 7,000 hours plus since 14 DEC 2014, I think my instinct would be to stop gathering, until Frontier fixes it. If they don't fix material gathering, engineering will stop.Out of curiosity, what are you doing now that Horizons progress no longer transfers? Without simply telling me "X system/planet has all the resources" (I'm serious about this--I don't like being handed someone else's answer when I'm trying to learn a method of doing things myself), how are other CMDRs dealing with this?

Yeah, I honestly don't even see how it's possible right now. I've spent the last 8 hours searching for grade 4 raw materials and it took me 6 of those hours to even find something that could reasonably be called a geological site (i.e. a decent-sized cluster of vents and fumaroles)After 7,000 hours plus since 14 DEC 2014, I think my instinct would be to stop gathering, until Frontier fixes it. Perhaps you'd care to share with us some of your strategies for finding grade 4 raw materials then? It took me 4 days of intense searching to find even a single needle crystal. I've both driven and flown hundreds of thousands of km on and over planets that are supposed to have them, and I've found almost nothing. If there is something I'm doing completely wrong here, I would love to know, but I really don't see a solution short of looking at some guide saying "Go to x, y, or z planet/system because it has x, y or z elements in abundance". If element deposits really are as rare as my recent experience has shown them to be, then I'd say this absolutely needs fixing. There's nothing to fix.
Brain tree bodies, along with the shard ones, work fine for me.Perhaps you'd care to share with us some of your strategies for finding grade 4 raw materials then?
I've seen how effective the brain trees can be, but sadly I've only found one planet with them and it did not contain the element(s) I'm searching for. My eyes have been and continue to be on the lookout for that though. I'm trying to make do with geological features in the meantimeBrain tree bodies, along with the shard ones, work fine for me.
But they are a way out from the bubble. (or Colonia even)

I just drive around planets. Like in era, where main source of raws were outcrops.how are other CMDRs dealing with this?

Well forgive me for being kind of new here, but for what it's worth, I've read dozens of threads on this, and most of the info I'm finding seems to be outdated. If this is your stance, then alright I guess, but it seems kind of weird to chime in in the first place then if you're not gonna drop specifics. Just saying "I've said before how to do it" as if everyone has seen and read your posts isn't very helpful imo.I have, multiple times on multiple threads, with screenshots and detailed explanations and quite frankly I am over it because it's the same few people coming back over and over again complaining, and I can only attribute that to them simply not learning the new way of doing things and wanting thier old pointy arrow system, mats on a plate back!
Knowing what to look for is the information I'm looking for. Your screenshots are neat and whatnot, but I can take screenshots of geological features I've found too. I'm wondering how to find them in the first place when the entire planet is blue. I've tried mountainous regions, flat regions, craters, planets of different types, planets with different numbers of geological features (2 vs 3 for example), going to areas of different shades of blue, etc, and I've found no patterns whatsoever that will help me actually locate these sites reliably upon descending towards a planet's surface. How do you find this stuff without having to spend literal hours or days? That's the info I'm after. They are there once you learn what to look for. But I've been over this many times, tired of it and not going to repeat it.
No Man's Sky.There is a middle ground.
